I love the Ripple recipe fresh lime drink. The burger was quite good, the fries okay, but they were all very short, like the bottom of the bag. I thought the flavor of the fries was good but not exceptional. Service was good. We decided to give this place a try after hearing so much about it! It has a drive-thru but if you decide to eat there, it has all outdoor seating under the pavilion. There isn't a whole lot of parking but it's on the corner of a neighborhood so you can park on the street and walk there. We ordered the double burger, side of fries, Coke and a lemonade. The burger was really good but we both wished we had just gotten the single patty because it was a little much and we would've appreciated it a lot more if it was just the single patty. Fries were crisp and salty and paired nicely with the fry sauce. Also, They only offer 32oz for drinks fyi! They don't have smaller sizes. The lemonade is like minute maid lemonade, good but nothing special. We definitely would come back if we're ever in the area. Just probably would get the single patty burger instead! read more

When I was a kid, this location was a classic burger shop... It closed down for a while, but when it reopened as Provo Burger, I was ready for a burger spot to be back! When we arrived it was very busy but the line was moving quick. We ordered our food and didn't wait long before our number was called. Seating was all full but we ended up sharing a table with another family. They've kept the small town diner vibes, but elevated the menu. Beef Wagyu patties are the standard and you can customize your burger with different toppings and sauces. Definitely recommend the "secret sauce!" We'd read on other reviews that the bun was "bready" so a double burger was recommended. I tried my daughter's "single" burger and thought it tasted just fine. The burger is a smash patty so I could see how some might think the bun overpowers the meat. I ordered my burger "protein style" (no bun) and wished I'd ordered a double. So maybe a double is always recommended? Don't skip the shakes or fresh lime! Learn from my mistake and ask for LITE ICE or you'll end up with more ice than fresh lime. It breaks my heart to say this, but this is the most 2.5 place in all of Provo. I'm going to break down our order and then finish it up with how much it cost: 2 double cheeseburgers (both with bacon and one with mushrooms) Two limes Two shakes One family fry + an extra fry sauce That was a total of $70 dollars. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. As happy as I am that they are using quality and locally sourced ingredients while also making use of a space that was loved and cherished by the community, $70 for all of this is unacceptable. The federal minimum wage is $7.25, you would have to work for two days to afford this meal, and that just isn't okay. I'm sorry, but you can find a much better burger at a much, much better price in the Provo food scene. read more

This place was pretty packed when we rolled up, so I was worried about a long wait, but it only took about 10 minutes to get our food once our order was placed - not bad at all considering there were 8 of us. The environment was nice and clean, and the tables are shaded so we were decently comfortable despite the summer heat. Our young kids loved the free hats and the phonebooth while waiting for the food. The Provo Burger was fantastic - in my opinion this is exactly was a burger should be. I added bacon and it was the right call. The veggies all tasted fresh and I really liked the combo of flavors. Their special sauce was fantastic both on the burger and with the fries. We ordered a bucket of fries for 8 of us, and it was enough to satisfy us all plus have some leftovers to take home. They were spot on with their seasoning, and were the perfect amount of crisp. We also got the chocolate and oreo shakes to share, and once again those 2 shakes were enough to satisfy 8 of us. The chocolate was nice and not overbearing, but the oreo was the favorite of the group. It was loaded with oreos and had next to no unmixed spots (some places serve shakes that are mixed well on top, then are just vanilla ice cream at the bottom - not here!). If you're wanting quality burgers, fries, and shakes, I'd definitely recommend trying this place out. Solid stop! Ordering was easy since the menu is small. We paid south of $50 for two people so it's not cheap. The shakes were think and chunky! We liked that. We ordered a raspberry Oreo and it was real raspberries which makes or breaks it for us. The ice cream quality could have been a little higher or creamier but it was still a very decent shake! The fries and fry sauce were 100%! Just the right size fry to have a crisp outer layer without being soggy. When ordering we opted for the family size which we thought would come out heaping full of fries and feed the 4 of us just fine, but it was really only filled about 3/4 full (as was the second batch of fries we ordered so seems to be the norm) and was probably better suited for 2 people. We enjoyed the burgers. We loved the special sauce, all of our group enjoyed the tamed jalapeños on the burger. Pretty thin patty so the double was the way to go. They only stock American Cheese which is a minus for us because it just isn't yummy in my opinion. My burger came out wrong and I took it up to the window and they replaced it with the correct order quickly and were very apologetic. They let me keep the wrong order too so I was pleased with how they handled it. There's quite a few tables outside that were pleasant to sit at. I gotta be honest here and I hope they improve off this feedback as I want them to succeed enough where I will go back. This has been on my mind all week so I gotta leave this review. I was super excited for this place as I grew up in Provo eating at Ripples. The vibe is great, very nostalgic, fun atmosphere. I'm rooting for Provo Burger, but here is my experience: As a parent I gotta say first, this food is EXPENSIVE. I bought basically half the food I get at In-n-out or Burger Supreme and it still cost more somehow?? We got the family size order of fries to feed two adults and two young little kids. "Family size" is not accurate. They should call it "large" or keep calling it "family" size and put way more fries in it. The bowl is big (that's great) but they filled it half way with fries and filled the rest of the bowl with sauce cups. It was enough fries for maybe 1-2 people, definitely not enough for a family. We all left hungry. That being said, they were very good fries. We got 3 burgers. My daughter took one bite and said it was gross and she was done - this does happen often (kids do this all the time) but she loves In-n-out burgers so comparing to that was a sad result. I was super excited as I've never had a "wagyu" burger, but it tasted like any normal smash burger. The bun was odd, not bad but odd, and my burger had very little sauce sadly and was a bit dry. I'd rate the burger as average (and expensive). We got a cookies and cream Oreo shake, it was good but as we got halfway through with it, it just became pure vanilla, no longer cookies and cream. They clearly didn't mix it well. Also it looks like a lot of shake but it isn't, they just put a normal cup inside a big cup. It's expensive. We sat at a table with a bunch of college kids. Two of them discovered their burgers were missing the beef patties. Probably just new cook mistakes, but that was bad and quite funny. They kindly fixed it. After a few bites one of the college kids whispered to another "I'd rather be at In-N-Out" which basically sums up our experience. Overall this is an expensive place, okay food, good environment, great service. Overall score is definitely not 5 stars like others have rated, but I want it to be. Id say it's 2.5 stars, but I'll round up. A lot of the mistakes you could say are because they are new so hopefully they improve. As of today, I'd go back if I was by myself and had money to blow, or if someone paid for my food. But until then I will be at Burger Supreme, Crown Burger, and of course, In-N-Out. Got a single burger without jalapenos and single fry. Was very much looking forward to trying beef tallow fries and wagyu beef patty as they advertise. Unfortunately those aspects are simply hype. In just the last month that Provo Burger has been open, our family has collectively eaten there at least 10 times. We are beyond thrilled that it's in the neighborhood! It's fresh, great quality food. Yes, it's more expensive than In and Out, but it's way better (I never understood the hype about In and Out anyway). I do wish the shakes were more drinkable, and the cup in a cup thing is weird. (Do they always break through the bottom of the cup with the shake blender? Is that a throw back to The Phone Call?) I think they should knock a dollar off the cost of the shakes, use less custard and more milk, and put it in a paper cup. But really, the burger and fries can't be beat. Fancy Burger used to be the best burger around, but they've been bested by Provo Burger. And having them Just down the street is win win! read more

Like everyone else, I was excited to get burgers back into the Ripples location. That classic restaurant hasn't been duplicated, sadly. They had the best cheeseburgers in town, in my opinion. Back to Provo Burger-- Burger, fry, shake, soda-- simple menu, but left wishing there were more options. Everything is expensive, which didn't feel like it matched the product received. (See photos). It's hard to not compare burgers to other restaurants. Prices comparable to Chom, but smaller serving size for ($5) fries barely filled to the top of the tray. The $10 burger + bacon was decent sized for a single, but underwhelming taste-wise. $3.50 sodas and $5 fresh limes with no refills is crazy. $7.50 shakes are somehow common around here. Fry sauce had spices or something added, which I could personally do without. Might be the same special sauce they put on the burgers. It's an old school drive in experience, and the only burger spot In Edgemont. However, $16 for a burger and fries (no drink) could go a lot further elsewhere. read more

Here's a description of what Provo Burger calls a "Root Beer Freeze": The freeze comes in two cups. There is a smaller, not tiny, cup overflowing with vaguely root beer-flavored soft ice creme--about a quart. It comes inside a larger cup, floating in root beer. The root beer and ice creme are in separate cups! The ice creme is soft but quite thick. It can only be eaten with a spoon, which is provided. The root beer is not accessible without removing the inner cup, but that's overflowing with ice creme, so I can't get it out. Perhaps a straw could reach the root beer in the gap between cups, but a straw is not offered. I eat the ice creme in the inner cup until it floats high enough to grasp, I take the inner cup with the ice creme out of the root beer cup. This makes a real mess on the table requiring many napkins to clean up. I spoon the rest of the ice creme into the root beer and mixed it up, and I finally have a real root beer freeze! I had ordered the root beer freeze because on previous visits I had tried the "Old Fashioned Shake or Malt". The first time I ordered a shake I got a two cup offering like the freeze. The inner cup was full of soft ice creme and it rested in a larger cup, possibly to contain the overflow of the inner cup, but there was nothing in the outside cup but the inside cup--making the "Shake or Malt" look deceptively bigger than it actually was. The second time I ordered a malt. I could not taste any malt. I'm not sure the workers even know what malt is. I'm almost 80 years old so I believe I know what an "Old Fashioned Shake or Malt" is, as well as a "Root Beer Freeze". I used to get them 60 years ago from the same building that Provo Burger now uses, as well of dozens of other establishments all over Utah and the surrounding states. Whatever these Provo Burger concoctions are, or how delicious they are, they are not shakes, malts or root beer freezes. When I talked to the manager of Provo Burger this evening he assured me that the products had been produced exactly the way they had been taught to make them. I asked if I could order a shake with some milk in it so I could use a straw. They had no milk on the premises. I asked if they could make me a freeze with half root beer and half ice creme mixed in just one cup. He was reluctant to try something so radical, but guessed he could next time I came. If the owner of Provo Burger is reading this, pay attention! Provo Burger is doing a brisk business, but some things could be corrected. I have no complaint about the things that you are offering--only about the names. Make a shake drinkable through a straw. And mix the root beer and ice creme together to make a freeze so it can be drunk with a straw. Don't float the ice creme in a cup inside another cup! Get new names for what you sell now. The ice creme is good, but it is not a shake or a malt. read more
