I catered food for an event and I was so impressed with their attentiveness! The number of people attending our event kept increasing daily and Janine quickly accepted the new order and sent invoices quickly. She was so gracious as my numbers increased and help to ensure I had the proper amount of food. They were very busy with only one server, but he really hustled, even though the place was very busy at lunchtime. Our group of four shared an 18 inch pepperoni and olive pizza and a Caesar salad. Ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza. It was good but it had basically no chicken on it. It was mainly just the bread, BBQ sauce and some sprinkled parmesan cheese with a few small pieces of chicken. It was good pizza but I just felt like I was eating bread with sauce. Just realize if you order this menu item you are paying $12 for a chicken pizza with basically no chicken on it. I had very high hopes for this place based on the reviews and I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype. The crust was SO FLUFFY and I could drink buckets of this sauce. You know I'm gonna hold any place that claims to sell a NYC style slice to the Flop or Fold test this slice passed with flying colors. We lucked out and showed up at a time it was dead so service was speedy. I love the ambiance of this place because it made me feel like I was sitting in a pizzeria back in NYC. The dessert was also a highlight because they had "Cake" Shake Milkshakes which was a milkshake containing an entire slice of cake, topped with a slice of cake. My one grip was the prices. I'm never really one to think food is too expensive (cause good food is ALWAYS worth it) but there are definitely some less expensive places out there that serve a slice that is just as good (if not better). Still worth checking out if you're in the area and looking for a decent slice! read more

This place has a great vibe with retro movie and music posters & arcade games. Came in for lunch after watching a cooking competition and it's clean and spacious. It took a long time for our server to get to us, but to be fair she did tell us she had another table ahead of us. Great lunch special--$12 for a 10 inch pizza, two garlic knots or salad and a drink! Can't beat that! I was boring and just ordered a pepperoni with hot honey today. The pizza was on the thinner side with a light crust which I prefer. Okay, so in town traveling for a conference and had a hankering for pizza. Saw Fat Daddy's was just a block away from the hotel and the convention center. Looks like an old style family pizzeria. Supposed to be New York Style Pizza. Plenty of seating. Staff was attentive and friendly. Menu is combination of sandwiches, salads and of course the prime attraction - pizza. Quite the selection of specialty pizzas. Decided to just get a small (10 inch) and custom made with pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. The write says they pre-cook their ingredients to make a better pie. So, while this is a pretty high rated pizzeria, I didn't like it. Crust was kind of flat and blah and then the pizza was actually "wet". Don't know if it was the mushrooms and onions that didn't get cooked enough, but the pizza was wet when you bit down into it. It was not a pleasant mouth feel. The flavor was okay, but that wetness was off putting. I wouldn't get this type of pizza again. Might try a specialty pizza if I tried it again. The restaurant also has dessert. I tried the Zeppole's which are fried dough dipped in cinnamon sugar. These were outstanding. read more

Fat Daddy's is a cool spot in Downtown Provo! I am pretty sure there was only one server. Maybe two, but it was not overly staffed, that's for sure. She greeted us after a few minutes up at the front and made sure to check on us throughout the meal. For starters, we got the toasted ravioli. This may have been my favorite part of the whole dinner. These were stuffed with cheese and tasted so amazing. They came with marinara but we also got some ranch to pair the ravioli with. We decided to get some kind of dinner special that was being advertised on the tables. This came with salad, unlimited garlic knots, and a pizza of our choice. We had the choice of a caesar salad or a garden salad. Luckily, I am hanging around the right people and we all agreed the caesar salad would be the best choice. The garlic knots came out quickly and were extremely hot. They paired so well with the ranch on the side. The salad came out shortly after that and it was perfect for the 6 of us. The pizza came out a while later and we opted for the four horseman, which came with pepperoni, sausage, banana peppers, jalapenos, hot cherry peppers, crushed red pepper, honey chipotle drizzle. It tasted pretty good but it definitely had a kick to it. There was one issue with our visit; the water tasted so bad. We all gagged when we drank it. We go to restaurants together every single week and this was a first for us. I am not sure if it is a moldy ice machine or just the pipes, but we are thinking it is the ice. Regardless, it was literally not drinkable. Having a meal like this without a single swig of water was a bit rough. Everything else was awesome and I feel like we got a lot of value with our meal. The music was interesting and it was kind of funny that they were playing Teletubbies on one of the TVs. There's plenty of seating in here and the overall building has a lot of charm. We'd definitely go back but I really hope the water was a one-off situation. read more

Overall I had a good experience here and would be happy to go again. Fat Daddy's has been recommended to me many times over the years and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. I was expected something a little more fast casual and was surprised to discover that it's a sit down restaurant with waiters and everything. The interior was slightly older but by no means "run down" and they had some great interior design. I especially loved the cool tabletops with comic book clippings even though they felt a little out of place. The staff crushed it. I'm embarrassed to say I forgot my waiters name by the time I'm writing this review but they had excellent service and got our pizza out fairly quickly. Waiters can always make or break the experience of a sit down restaurant and the service here definitely warrants a second visit on it's own. With the prices of a nicer restaurant and great service, I would have expected the pizza to be a little be higher quality. While it was satisfactory, it didn't blow my mind by any means and there are several pizzerias in the area with higher quality food at more affordables prices. Ultimately, the reason I go out to eat is primarily for the food and the experience is secondary, I was just disappointed enough in the food to give a four star, though it was still good enough that I wouldn't mind going again sometime in the future. read more

Our family was looking for a great pizza joint to enjoy food while watching a basketball game. I have to say that the reviews of Fat Daddy's prompted my interest in trying them out! When we got the food, the first thing I noticed was the size of the garlic knots. They were about twice the size of what I typically see and they were fluffy, not dense and hard. Nice job!!! I really thought the pizza was great too. The pepperoni was nice and crispy, thin crust dough with big soft chewy handles to hold your slice with. We ordered takeout and the two women that greeted us were super nice and did a great job of building rapport with their customers. Best pizza around. You got to dine in for a five star experience. The pizza just taste better when it goes from oven to table. It's a thin pizza with nice crispy toasty crust. I order the personal size and enjoy every bite all by myself. It's not a thick overload of a pizza so I never feel like I over eat. It's very light. And settles nicely in my tummy. The pizza restaurant is very nostalgic. With posters from the 80s up. The dining tables are very cool with old newspaper articles and clippings of rocknroll bands from back in the days. The pizza is delicious and fresh. They have a gluten free crust that they can use for any pizza. The shakes are delicious and the dipped shakes are unique to them and a meal to themselves. My wife has celiac and we discovered this place while across the street at the Utah Valley Convention Center. She has had several pizzas since we first came and has loved all of them. Being gluten free, it's hard for her to find good pizza, but more importantly, a kitchen and staff that takes care of cross contamination. We highly recommend this place. read more
