I had a disappointing experience at Peace on Earth Coffee. I specifically ordered a matcha latte with a substitution for health reasons, so accuracy mattered to me. I made sure to confirm this substitution was available before placing my order. After drinking it, I became concerned that my substitution had not been applied, so I tried to contact the store. It took multiple calls to reach a manager, but once I did, they acknowledged that a new employee had likely made a mistake and apologized. Although it was difficult to get in touch with someone, I appreciate their willingness to hear my concerns and their attempts to rectify the situation. When I returned to the store for the agreed-upon refund, however, the experience became frustrating. The manager, Aubrey, initially attempted to refund me for a less expensive drink and seemed unwilling to believe me when I explained what I had paid. I clarified that I was not seeking reimbursement for the tip, only the agreed-upon refund for my purchase. Her tone felt irritated and dismissive throughout the interaction. Fortunately, I still had my receipt with me and was able to verify the correct amount. Mistakes happen, and I appreciate that the store acknowledged the possibility of an error. What disappointed me most was how the refund was handled. I left feeling that my concerns were met with skepticism rather than understanding. Additionally, on a completely separate side note, while I was there, I noticed a customer had a dog inside the café. When I first visited with my friend, we had her dog with us and we were told dogs were only welcome on the patio because they had an open kitchen. So it was unexpected to see this dog inside and drinking from a reusable customer water cup provided by Peace on Earth. The inconsistency in enforcing store policies was surprising. A spot in downtown Provo to sit around and hang out with some good drinks and food. There are pretty spots for taking pictures and the vibes are casual and chill. The drinks are pretty good, though I only had gotten a London Fog, which tasted very well done and had a good vanilla flavor. I also go the lox bagel which was alright, the salmon could use a stronger smoky flavor and I usually prefer the red onions sliced a little thinner. Indoor and outdoor seating, only bad thing is that it's so popular so if ur trying to work from "home" there u better go early! My group and I were walking around town and were drawn in by the karaoke happening outside the cafe. They have weekly karaoke nights which I think is super fun. We visited in October when they were offering the Edward Cullen drink. Looks like they have fun seasonal offerings. I took a terrible photo but the drink is sparkly, more so when you shake it around. The barista walked over and offered to remake it if it wasn't sparkly enough :) But it was haha. The drink itself was super sweet. It's a great study and hangout spot, with a lot of food and drink options and a pretty good amount of seating. They work pretty quickly to get drinks out, which is nice. If you're trying to study here, make sure you know what days and times the open mic/karaoke starts, since it can get pretty loud. read more

Having been to dozens and dozens of coffee shops from all around the world, this one has to be one of my FAVORITES! It was so good my cousins and I came 3 times during our trip to Provo/Moab. Such amazing vibes, decor, workers, drinks, pastries, and food! Their halloween decor was literally the cutest, especially the witch hats hanging from the ceiling. And the workability/studying that can happen in this place is great! Warm, cozy, and great lighting. They have a plethora of food, pastry, and drink options. Lots of classic coffee/tea items, but also a lot of speciality drinks (coffee, decaf, and alcoholic). Throughout the times I went I got a brown eyed girl latte ($6) and a fall seasonal maple cinnamon latte ($6). If you like sweet coffee drinks, definitely get the brown eyed girl. It's a mixture of white chocolate and brown sugar, very sweet but you were still able to taste the espresso. I really enjoyed the maple cinnamon latte! For food I got the vegan blueberry scone and pesto mozzarella sandwich and both were delicious! Probably one of the best scones I have ever had; not to dry. My friend and I have been going out for breakfast a couple of times a month for the past five years and this morning we went to Peace On Earth. My friend and I almost always try to go to locally owned breakfast places instead of large chains because we want to support local businesses and independent restaurants have more personality. For context, I never write bad reviews. I've only written one other one in the past ten years. When I occasionally have a bad experience, I just move on and don't patronize the same place again. In the case of Peace On Earth, we had gone there a year or two ago and that first time it was just okay. Ordinarily we wouldn't have come back here but we both failed to make the mental connection that we'd been here and didn't plan to return. We didn't realize our mistake until we got to the front door. Well, the first time was "okay". Today it was just bad. It started out okay. The person who took our order was very pleasant. But, when some our food came out, only one of our orders was brought out even though we had ordered exactly the same thing. I waited and waited for my order until I had to go to the counter to find out where it was. Apparently, the cook misread the ticket and thought the order was for one breakfast instead of two. Okay, mistakes happen but the food was not good, the bacon slices were so thin they literally melted in your mouth, the potatoes weren't really very flavorful, the toast was ice cold and the scrambled eggs were not very good. Over $50 for two breakfasts plus a generous tip and very unsatisfying. My friend, whose turn it was to buy this time lamented that he wished he'd been able to tip after we ate instead of when we ordered. If he had been able to, the tip would have been a lot less than the 25% he did tip. I don't like leaving a negative review but if the owner will contact me for direct feedback, I'll take this down. Haven't been to many coffee shops past Washington or Iron county, we generally stick around southwestern Utah, but on our way to Yellowstone Montana we stopped in Provo (BYU territory) to get our much needed morning java. Ellen F. found the spot and it's conveniently located in their central business district not far from the Temple and other government buildings. The inside has that eclectic granola third wave coffee ambiance and feel, which was pretty cool and welcoming TBH. Whoa! They sell booze, if it wasn't so early and we didn't have a long drive ahead of us I'd partake with names of drinks like quartini or Mary Poppins but must avert my eyes elsewhere. The barista was super chill and patient with our order as I am a coffee bitch. They have oat milk! And simple syrup! My coffee was really good and not expensive, I left with both kidneys and lungs. This little gem in Provo is serving up an amazing cup of coffee or in my case, an incredible extra hot latte with the perfect amount of simple syrup prepared with my favorite, oat milk!!! The barista could not have been nicer. There was quite a line when we arrived. She cleared it like a pro! She allowed me to give her my order and not once did she act put out like many do. She commented that "you are paying good money for a good drink, I want to make it perfect for you!" Love that! Super cute interior with places to sit and relax or do some work on your laptop. The service here is phenomenal. Every time I have come here they have been kind, patient, and helpful, even when under typical coffee shop stress (morning rush, out of milk, etc.) Their breakfast menu is great, but I think their pastry case is so so. The best stuff runs out pretty quickly, and I always feel weird about buying Costco muffins when I can go get a whole box for almost the same price. My kids do love their seasonal homemade pastries though! Their decor and seating is awesome. Clean and comfy, and they decorate for holidays (Halloween, Independence Day, Christmas, etc.). Very nice little community coffee shop. I haven't tried their alcoholic beverages but they do have a menu for those as well.
