I wanted to love this but I just thought it was ok…read more Service was attentive but felt like our waitress/server was having a bad day or annoyed. She hardly smiled. I mean hardly. They do kindly take pictures of you. Which is nice to remember the experience. We got sat in a couch type setting. So many things on the table caused my mil to break a glass accidentally. They bring you a wine glass with berries and a cream. That was really good. The tea was really good. I got their specialty one. The tower of food was alright. I can't rave about it. But I tried everything just so I can say I tried it. Sandwiches were good. I never thought I'd like egg salad sandwiches but it was different curry sandwich and the lettuce was soggy.- different but good. ham and olive sandwich and it was not my favorite. Super salty probably from the olives. Hummus sandwich was good. But nothing special For the scones. I was like whoa they are rock hard but ones you cut into them they were good - this is the only thing I actually was like can I have one more please. Wish it was warmed. - the cream and lemon curd and their jam was good The Madeline's were gross and dry. -5tars just for this. The raspberry macarons were not good to me. But I also am not a fan of macarons. Their chocolate tarts were ok. Nothing special They had a danish cookie that looked/tasted like it came out of a tin All in all, I don't think I would come back. It's expensive for what you get. The food was mediocre at best, the cream and berries and scone was only thing I would say was good. Not worth 45 dollars, they changed us for 4 people almost 220... math it out. 45x4 = 180...where is the other $40 coming from taxes aren't that much. Tip already was added an additional 30-40!! Umm what! No where does it say that was going to be added. And they still ask for tip.. IMO it's not worth 45 I would try a different tea place. The hotels coffee shop pastries and 100x better. Just server me that instead,

My DIL and I came in for the afternoon tea service as part of our girls day out before their…read morewedding this past summer and had such a delightful time! The in-house dandelion tea was fantastic and our server Blair made sure we had a wonderful experience! He even surprised my sweet DIL with an extra cake decorated with "congratulations" written in chocolate!! Such a lovely surprise - huge thank you to Blair for giving us such a lovely afternoon! Entering the lounge through the towering, elegant lobby of the hotel set the tone for our tea experience and we knew we were in for a treat. A harp player was strumming fun movie score tunes as we were seated and she played so wonderfully - we had a great time trying to guess what movie the songs were from. The counters and table tops are all marble, the chairs and couches were very opulent and appeared historic, and the room was full of tall paintings and giant chandeliers - it was like sitting in a French chateau! Blair started us off with their signature blooming flower in a wine glass - he poured the hot water over the tightly-closed dried petals and we enjoyed watching it slowly blossom as we perused the drink menu. We had a hard time deciding between their hot chocolate variations or the signature dandelion chai they're known for. Blair recommended the chai so we both ended up going with it and it was phenomenal! The No. 555 Dandelion Chai was created exclusively for the Grand America Hotel and it carries notes of cinnamon, rose, and coconut - a unique blend that's comforting and warm - we loved it! Once we decided on our drinks, Blair brought out the palate cleanser - a wine glass full of berries and Chantilly cream - it was beautifully presented, light, and refreshing- a great start. Up next - the main attraction- the tiered tower of tea treats! Our tower of tea treats consisted of three tiers: tier one had four varieties of finger sandwiches; tier two had several cakes, macarons, and tarts; and tier three had scones, cookies, and Madelines. They also served lemon curd, berry jam, and clotted cream on the side to go with the scones. The cakes, tarts, Madelines, and macarons were absolutely delicious! We loved them all. And the extra surprise cake Blair brought out was as amazing as well. So their pastries are the clear winner of the tea treats. Unfortunately, the scones had a very bitter aftertaste and we couldn't really eat much of them. The finger sandwiches included egg salad, cucumber, smoked salmon, and a chicken curry salad. Sadly they were also a disappointment- they were very dry and pretty bland. For the price and elevated experience, I definitely expected these traditional afternoon tea items to be a highlight - which is why this experience gets a 4/5 for me. But everything else was top notch and we had a lovely time. We also wanted to explore the hotel a bit bc the wedding was the next day and we'd be spending the night here afterwards to celebrate so it was a successful visit imo lol. We had some fun girl time and an adventure running around the hotel afterwards! There's plenty of parking in the hotel garage - you have to take a parking ticket from the kiosk to get in, but the tea room will validate so it ends up being free for tea guests. The price of the standard tea experience is what you'd expect for this level of establishment - it was $42.50 each summer of 2025. So not too crazy.
