Since it was my first time there I asked for a recommendation and even though it was her first day and she hasn't been able to try anything, she still told me what looked good to her on the menu. I ended up ordering the "Janis Joplin" original specialty coffee and "The Soul Kitchen" Parmesan bagel sandwich. Both were so good! The butterscotch in the coffee added a unique and delicious taste I've never tasted before. The bagel sandwich is a must! It was honestly so bomb, it's like artichoke dip on a bagel, so cheesy and so flavorful. So so so yummy! It's too bad I don't live near here for it to be a regular spot for me. Found myself on a road trip to Utah for my niece's soccer tournament. With an extended stay, we had to have coffee. And we didn't settle on the big name chains. Thank you Yelp for this treasure. I grabbed breakfast here and it was really great. I had the Heath Ledger Latte (basically an English Toffee) and the Soul Kitchen bagel, and both are EXCELLENT. I took a pic of the ingredients for the bagel to see if I can replicate it at home because it was so good. The wait staff was really chill and the space is nice and large with ample seating. I heard Java Junkie was pretty popular and came to try it with a friend. Right off the bat, super cute retro style decor. It's a two story building and has a quiet yet bustling coffee shop vibe. They have an assortment of sweets treats, but it did not look fresh. I got an ice latte with almond milk and I did not enjoy it. The coffee tasted burnt and we came here at 10am. They do open as early as 6am, I believe, so perhaps I just caught a bad batch on its last legs. However, what was extremely off putting was this strange oily/greasy after taste. I'm not sure what it was or if the burnt taste was playing tricks on me, but I didn't finish the coffee. I really enjoy this coffee shop, they have great drinks and a great atmosphere! I would have to say my only complaint is they only fill my drink 3/4 full when I get no ice. I prefer no ice in my drink because I don't drink my coffee very fast and don't like a watered down coffee. I am very happy to pay a little extra for it be filled the remainder of the way up if given the option, but if I order 16 oz of coffee I would like the full 16 oz and not just some of it. read more

Sadly, I had a bad experience here recently. Called ahead to place an order so it'd be ready for pickup (had a meeting to run to). The lady I spoke with wasn't exactly clear in whether she could take a call order or not (red flag in itself). She said she could only do so for some orders, but couldn't tell me what that meant. Finally, she took my order. About 10-15 minutes later, I arrive. There's a line. I wait since I figure I'll be able to quickly pay, grab my drinks, and go. Once I'm up, the man at the register asks me to wait so he can help his coworker prepare a few drinks. So I wait a few more minutes. Finally, he comes back. I tell him I called ahead my order and ask if my drinks are ready. He says no and that he is unaware of any phone orders (apparently I was lied to on the phone). Then he says if I can wait, they can make my drinks "quick." I look around and see several people already waiting for their orders. Nope - I left. The whole point of calling ahead was to avoid the wait. If you're gonna take a customer's order over the phone, you need to follow through. My order was never conveyed and the business wasted my time. Very unprofessional. read more

Fantastic coffee!! I love the famous people themed drinks. I love the Patty Duke! The place has a really chill vibe.

This coffee shop is really cool, the employees are nice. The actual coffee is terrible. I ordered a Hendrix and it tasted like they dumped cayenne pepper in my drink. They sold it as a "slight kick". Just because her bad and very terrible attitude and the way she talked to me, I refused to purchase a drink.
