Finally, World-Class Espresso in the Heart of Provo! If you…read moreare an espresso enthusiast living in or traveling through Utah County, your search ends here. Incidental Coffee Roasters isn't just a coffee shop; it's a masterclass in the craft. I can say without hesitation that this is the best espresso I have ever had in Utah County. What sets Incidental apart is the absolute precision in their flavor. Because they roast their own single-origin beans in-house, the coffee is incredibly fresh and "dialed in" to perfection. My espresso is always exceptionally balanced--smooth, with a complex natural sweetness and none of the bitterness you find at larger chains. It is clearly a labor of love for true coffee purists. Why you should visit: The atmosphere is minimalist, intentional, and calming--perfect for a focused morning or a sophisticated coffee date. But the real heartbeat of the shop is the owner, Dylan. He is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly lives and breathes coffee science, yet he's one of the friendliest people you'll meet. Whether you're a fellow coffee nerd wanting to talk extraction or a casual drinker looking for a recommendation, he makes everyone feel welcome without a hint of pretension. If you appreciate the "art" of the bean, do yourself a favor and stop by. Provo's coffee scene is better because of incidental! I come in here multiple times per week and am never disappointed. I also buy their fresh roasted coffee for making espresso at home and it is amazing! I like all the roasts i've tried but the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Iwariti roast or the Ethiopia Guji roast are my favorite!

I sat at a small table to enjoy the ambiance and my tasty gluten-free cookie. Great, friendly service from the owner. I plan to purchase a mug the next time I visit, made by a local potter.

The vibe, the coffee, the staff. Think: trendy tap house…read morefor coffee. Roasting room visible behind glass, chemistry-steampunk coffee boiling gadgets on the counter, local artwork for sale at a small table in the middle and a standing bar with high stools. Loads of natural lighting (in the morning) My wife got a rose latte, I went for caramel. Standard coffee art (heart-topped wheat shock for her, delicate middle-centered fern on mine). The caramel was light in mine, a pleasant contrast to caramel lattes that emphasize over-saccharine sweetness over the richness of caramel - it could have been that they just used an appropriate amount or it could have been the underlying psychological effect of sitting on the couch while my kids played games and drank their hot chocolates with whipped cream. Either way, I appreciated it. The servers were professional and courteous, and the rose latte came out fast. That said, the room was packed while we were here - a testament to the vibe and the smiles they brew here. Glad we chose this place for our cozy morning respite this morning!

As a home coffee drinker from Indonesia, I have tried many coffee beans from various locations and…read morecoffee roasters throughout the country. I have also tried some coffee shops near downtown SLC. Salt Lake Roasting Co. is different. They offer a vast selection of beans from Africa, Asia, my country, Indonesia, and South America. This is an advantage because you can try to find varieties of coffee from around the world and mix them. Tips for coffee drinkers: 1. Identify your preference: Do you like bold coffee or fruity? Or, like me, 60% bold and 40% fruity? 2. Ask the barista which matches your preferences, or you can mix your favorites. 3. Buy pour-over coffee and ask to use 50% Brazil/Sumatra for a bold taste, and 50% Ethiopia/Peru/Any fruity beans to add a fruity taste. You can mix anything you want and match any ingredients to create So my point is, drinking coffee doesn't mean you need to drink what the barista serves. At Salt Lake Roasting Co., you can have an adventure of taste. Tips for Home Coffee Brewer: Consult with John, the owner. Ask about your preferences. He is like a doctor who can recommend the perfect beans for you. He is a fantastic guy. I think I like Ethiopia more than Bali, but he highly recommended that I should try Bali Natural. So, I trusted him and bought it, then brewed it at home. He also gave me a small amount of Ethiopian beans to test it. And he is right! I really like Bali Natural compared to Ethiopian beans. (This is personal preference.) Bali Natural has a fruity taste, similar to the Bali Kintamani I usually drink in Indonesia. He roasted it well. He is a genius! You can also get free beans after buying 9 times, if I'm not mistaken.
