    56. Joe's Ultimate Burger

The hospitality is phenomenal over here! Definitely makes you feel like you are family when you come! Staff is great and the food is delicious! Food is made and served pretty quick. This place gets packed but seems to have quick service! They have both breakfast and lunch on their menu. I got Joe's ultimate burger. That thing was packed with sautéed mushrooms and bacon! It did not disappoint. We also got the Belgian waffle. This thing was so fluffy yet crispy at the same time. By far the best waffle I've ever had. Overall great experience. Appreciate Joe the owner and the entire staff for giving excellent service and experience! Will definitely be coming back.

To say this was one of the best breakfast experiences of my life wouldn't do it justice. The food 10/10 , service 10/10 , vibes 11/10. The owner came out and was just the nicest guy you could ever meet. Had a few funny stories to tell us and was going table to table making everyone feel at home. this would be a weekly stop if I lived here

Let's start with the food - it was fast, delicious, and enormous. The staff were all incredibly nice and chef David even came out and gave us a small dish of grits and another dish of sausage gravy to try, both super tasty.

The best little spot to get breakfast with a loved one! It's super homey inside and all the workers are so friendly. If you're lucky, Joe will come chat with you and tease you while you're eating; he is what makes this cafe the best! The food is all great & fairly priced. Portions are huge. Just overall a great place to come for breakfast! And expect it to be busy at times because it's so popular!

Joe's Café in Orem is one of those places you walk into once and immediately know you'll be back. It's loud, lively, and packed with personality -- just like the food. This isn't your typical café; it's a Southern-style breakfast joint with heart. Joe himself is often working the grill or chatting with guests, and his energy sets the tone for the whole place. The portions are massive -- think pancakes the size of your plate, thick-cut bacon, perfectly seasoned potatoes, and biscuits and gravy that taste like they came straight out of a Southern kitchen. Everything is cooked to order, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell this is comfort food made with love, not prepackaged shortcuts. The service is quick, the vibe is no-frills, and the food does all the talking. Just make sure you come hungry, because Joe doesn't do "small." Prices are fair, and you leave feeling like you got way more than your money's worth. If you love big breakfasts, bold flavors, and a little sass with your coffee, Joe's Café is a Utah gem that delivers every single time. https://linktr.ee/reessroots

Joe's Café didn't have air conditioning going when we ate lunch there. It was incredibly hot. It made it a very uncomfortable dining experience. They messed up on a few of our orders. They bring out the food as it's made and one person in our group was forgotten. I got the French toast with eggs and bacon, and the food was very average. The syrup bottle on the table was beyond sticky. The best part of the experience was our waitress. She was really nice. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurants.

We were looking for the best breakfast restaurants in Orem, and Joe's Cafe was the first to pop up on google. When you walk in the restaurant feels college themed, with tons of pictures just everywhere on the walls. I mean, there isn't really a blank space left. I ordered the short stack pancakes, and my Mimi ordered a half Belgian waffle. We both got hash browns (Yes they have actual hash browns not home fries) and scrambled eggs. Service is quick, it took about 10 minutes for our food to be on our table. But, instead of receiving a short stack, they gave me silver dollar pancakes. But this is ok, I didn't mind. The pancakes are light and buttery, and practically melt in your mouth. My Mimi really liked her waffle, too. The hash browns aren't too soft, and aren't too crunchy. They're cooked just right. The scrambled eggs are soft, but could be a little more runny. Anyways, our breakfast was pretty good, but can have some improvements. This would be a 4, but considering how friendly the people are, this is a 5. Great job Joe!

First time to Joes Cafe and it was fantastic. When we walked up Joe greeted us as if we'd been friends for years. Joe then asked us what we were in the mood for, told us what was good (which I'm convinced was everything looking at the tables next to us) and he had our order before we even sat down. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with grits and my wife got the breakfast sandwich with avocado. I'm a big biscuits and gravy fan but also critic. I need a good biscuit, tasty gravy that is meaty. This was it! Throw in two over easy eggs on top and it all just worked! The grits also really good and sweet. My wife also really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich w/avocado and by the looks of it would have been something I would order in the future if the biscuits and gravy wasn't so darn good. Also, don't sleep on Joe's juice, delicious! We sat outside on the patio which on a beautiful Utah morning was perfect.

The customer service was top notch. The food came out quickly and every employee that walked by checked to see if we needed anything and if the food was good.

We were greeted and seated promptly. They even placed the high chair for us and gave our toddler a car to play with while we ordered. The vibes were great and everyone was super friendly. My little one was even given a small pancake with a fruit smiley face to eat while we waited for our food. Definitely kid and family friendly. As for the food it came out fairly quick and was nice and hot and good size portions. One of the better breakfast places I've been to and would go back.

Joe is hilarious and as the owner he likes to also come out and converse with his patrons. This place is kind of hard to spot at 1st but the locals definitely know it's there by the way it's always busy in there! Do not be alarmed when you go in and it's packed-- no free tables -- they will take your phone number and they will call you in just a few mins to get you seated!I believe the longest wait we had was only about 20 mins -- and that was probably because we had a party of 4 instead of just my wife and I. Do yourself a favor and order the pancakes. You get a plate of mini ones -- not the traditional size. Kids love it. My wife likes their omelettes and hash browns best. They serve lunch too but it seems like everyone comes for the breakfast-- even when we come in at about noon-- we know we want to order bfast!

I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

When I reminded them that they are in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act, the manager, Mirta Solis just shrugged and said that's the policy. Now, if it were a crowded restaurant I could definitely understand them, offering me a seat on the patio. However, it is 50°, I'm dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, and I would be uncomfortably chilly having to sit outside. Regardless of my comfort, this is still of course, a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Service dog handlers beware, this is not a restaurant in compliance with the ADA. I will be filing a complaint with the department of justice, if this happens to you, I highly recommend you do the same.

But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.
