We came for the 4th of July deal where they had $2.50 fries, hot dogs, apple pie shakes, and scones. First of all, none of the workers knew what they were doing or how to add the deal. We were at the register for quite some time. I've heard great things about their scones, but these were fried way too long and were so difficult to cut. Not great. The apple pie shake might be the worst shake I've ever had. It was like eating frozen green apples with ice cream, and the textural experience was not pleasant. I couldn't eat more than 1/3 of it. A Tale of Highs and Lows Clean spot with plenty of seating and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome from the start. The kind of place you want to like, and for the most part you will. We ordered the Chubby Cheesesteak, swiss and pepper jack, mushrooms, peppers and onions, and it delivered. The combination of cheeses with the vegetables hit exactly right and the portion was generous. Easily the highlight of the visit. The mac and cheese was creamy and genuinely tasty, a solid side that held its own. Now for the lows. The house salad that came with the cheesesteak was a little sad. The strawberry shake is where things went sideways. It tasted like overripe fruit, past its prime in a way that was hard to ignore. Unfortunately I did not catch it until I was already driving home, otherwise it would have gone right back. If you order a shake here, take a sip before you leave. That is my advice. read more

You can't believe how happy I was to hear that Springville was getting a Chubby's! I've been anxiously awaiting the opening and saw that there were actual people inside the restaurant the other week, so tonight I finally went. I ordered on the phone for takeout and the sweet employee took my order and in the background I could hear the muffled voice asking a coworker "how do I do x?" but every time they interacted with me it was customer service perfect. When I arrived the parking lot was full but inside the line was short and fast moving. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by their que along with a little desert case. They have some big TV's above their ordering counter that are easy to see the menu. The seating area is both larger and smaller than I thought from outside but plenty of seating for all. I ordered a Pastrami Burger, regular fries and some fry sauce. The burger was yummy but definitely on the wet side (just too much of the condiments). The fries were decent but the fry sauce came in a large to go container which was amazing! It was the size of probably 4 regular cups. I will definitely give this place another try! read more

When in Utah, apparently the dish to get is the Utah Scone, similar to fry bread, but with slightly different ingredients. This was our last full day in Utah and we found that Chubby's was the easiest option to get our fill. Since we were planning to get dinner at another place, we only got a couple of sides as a snack. Scones ($3.99) - I was expecting to only get a single scone but the order surprisingly came with two! These scones are fried lightly, making the interior fluffy and moist, but cooked thoroughly with no soft batter remaining on the interior. The dough is soft, chewy, and like any fried dough, delicious. Overall, it's quite similar to fry bread - I looked up the difference and apparently Utah Scones use yeast while fry bread uses baking powder? I wish I had some fry bread to do a side-by-side comparison, but I think these seem to be a little flatter than fry bread I've had before. They're sprinkled with powdered sugar on top, and icing is given in a cup on the side to douse over the scones. There isn't too much sugar added, so by themselves, the scones taste a bit like the oil they are fried in. The icing is very sweet and tastes kind of milky, with a slightly yellowish color that makes the icing almost reminiscent of banana in color. It's slightly gritty, and while the description states that the icing is "honey butter," it most definitely has no relationship to either honey or butter. (4/5) Cinnamon Scones ($3.99) - This one is fried harder than the normal scone, making it much more golden brown and adding an extra bit of crunch. It's dusted with cinnamon and then absolutely doused with the icing, creating a pool on the bottom of the tray. The texture feels a little denser due to the harder fry and I feel like there are almost glassified sugar shards on the exterior, adding additional crunch and sweetness. I enjoyed these more than the regular scones. (4/5) Hushpuppies ($3.99) - An order comes with eight pieces. These hushpuppies are fried well, giving the exterior a good hardness, while the interior is still very fluffy and moist. There's a lot of corn meal and onion in the batter. Strangely, the middle of each sphere has a hollow cavity - not sure why that is. Some hushpuppies served at other restaurants include whole corn kernels and other chunky components. These, on the other hand, are entirely smooth in consistency on the inside. The outside is salted well and overall the hushpuppy has good texture and flavor. The hushpuppies come with a choice of sauce. I got the Chubby's Sauce, which I regret getting because the condiment station has it available for free. I should have gotten one of the other sauces that isn't available! (4/5) While I didn't order any of the burgers or other main entrees, I enjoyed eating the sides. We were so stuffed after eating them, that we ended up skipping the dinner we had planned... I would visit again, either this location, or one of the multiple other Chubby's around the area. The young lady who took our order was very sweet and bubbly. My wife is a bit of a buffalo chicken fan and her sandwich fell short, the blue cheese was barely noticeable, the sauce was good but still lacking. I'll put it this way, I'm a nut for wings. That being said, Chubbys has great wings, much better than all the wing joints. You can get wings in sweet or spicy, either way you win and you'll want more. I enjoy eating at Chubbys and one of the reasons sometimes I'm not in the mood for a scone when I order my wings, then suddenly by the time I'm done with the wings, I want a scone. So that's my piece of advice, eat in the restaurant just in case you want more. It is also helpful they have plenty of seating and the design is nice. Great food for the price and the service is great! It's always swamped with customers for a reason! The burgers and chicken sandwiches, even the salads and fries are so yummy! My favorite is the jalapeño bacon chicken ranch, or the bacon ranch burger. The desserts are good too! Who doesn't love banana pudding or Texas sheet cake. Everything on their menu is good. Food at chubby's has always been great, we have been to the springville Chubbys multiple time, each time the floors have been dirty, tables are sticky, have crumbs on them and it is nearly impossible to find A clean table. Sauce dispensers are empty and even though there is plenty of staff, they are just standing around chatting behind the counter. We love Chubby's! While this is a new location, the amount of work needed is a lot, to get this up to the standards set by the other Chubby's. Firstly, we've been already three times since it's opened, different days of the week as well, every time the employees are standing around doing nothing OR filming stupid dance videos. There's an obvious lack of proactive workers. Secondly, the food is barely like any other chubby locations. The patties seem to be over ground and tough, the burgers are rarely assembled how the menu depicts and the fries lack that crispness of Chubby fries. I sure hope upper management gets involved quickly to steer this new location in the right direction. read more

continue to be disappointed with this restaurant. customer service is awful. have never been greeted with a friendly hello when I have gone to order, and when you ask questions about the menu the person either doesn't know or acts like it is an imposition to answer your questions. also there is no consistency in their pricing. one time charged for changing the type of cheese on a burger and another time not. sorry to say I will not be going back. read more
