I remember this restaurant from my teenage years in Provo. The ambiance is good but parking is difficult if one has a larger vehicle. The service was great but our order taker had never heard of thousand island dressing. Anyway, the food was as we remembered it and we loved every bite. Thanks for the memories.
I've driven past this spot so many times when I visit Spanish Fork. So glad I finally went in for a meal. The sandwiches are huge and so good. It's hard picking one sandwich to order. I'll be coming back for more til I try everything on the menu.
Place was recommended so we took the drive. Sandwiches were very good. We prefer American cheese but the provolone was good. Happy they had banana peppers. No fries though. Good selection of bagged chips and soft drinks. Place was clean and busy. Steady stream for the dinner hour on a Saturday.
Food was pretty good. I have went past this place many times and never stopped. Glad that I did this time. Wife had the Philly and everything I had the steak and everything. Bread was great meat tasted great. Could have used some chopped hot peppers but overall it was good. Daughter who wanted to get something else ate a few bites of mine and said "yeh we should come back". Service was quick, place wasn't packed on a Wednesday night not surprised, probably busier on the weekends or maybe even earlier. But we will visit again.
I have heard great things about the Italian Place but I think it is something you can glance right over if you're not paying attention. Yelp recommends them for sandwiches quite frequently so I have been excited to see what they're all about. I went here with some good friends of mine on a Saturday afternoon. It is right off a busy street and there is quite a bit of parking but it also definitely depends on when you go because there is multiple other businesses in the area that share the same lot as they do. The interior of The Italian Place is quite small. They don't have a ton of seating and the vibes are fast casual. You go up to the register to place your order and then go back up when they call out your order. As I was looking over the menu, I was a bit confused on their concept. To break it down for those that don't know--this is not necessarily like a sandwich chain, this is more of a cheesesteak chain. I asked, and they confirmed that all of their sandwiches are hot sandwiches. The menu itself is quite simple--they pretty much have two menu items to choose from: a hot sandwich or one of their salads. They have three salads to choose from that can either come in a half size or a full size. As for their sandwiches, they have several to choose from and they come in three different sizes--half, full, or monster size. I was debating between their turkey n' cheese or their turkey n' everything. The contender was if their sandwiches were all hot or could be served either way. If I could get a cold sandwich, I was going to order the turkey n' cheese, but when he let me know that everything came hot, I decided to get the turkey n' everything sandwich instead. However, I did modify my order to come without turkey or mushrooms, because...ew. With your order, you can also opt to get it in a combo and they have a few different combo options to choose from. I opted for combo #2, which came with a full size sandwich, chips or a side salad, and a drink. They were almost completely out of chips and I originally wanted a side salad but the cashier said no. I am not sure why, but hey, BBQ chips will do. The drink machine was out of ice, which always bites, but the Dr. Pepper off the rocks sufficed. Next to the soda machine, they had mustard, mayo and a hot sauce. I did end up putting some of the mayo on my sandwich but I felt like that was the one thing that the sandwich was missing. The ingredients themselves were pretty solid and I felt like it was cooked pretty well...but I was not lost in the sauce. I am a very saucy girl and this had none. Mayo is not a sauce. Mayo tastes like air. I cannot publish this review without acknowledging their cute ambiance. They have really made it look like a cute little Italian place (literally) with their decorations on the walls and such. It reminds me of Subway circa 2006. It is not very upgraded at all, but that is where this restaurant gets its charm. All in all, I liked my experience at The Italian Place. Again, my biggest thing is that the sandwiches are lacking in sauce and could use some kind of house sauce to give an extra kick of flavor. Other than that, I thought the prices were great and the food was solid. It's not one of my first choices in the area but I see myself coming back sometime!
I would not recommend any business that can not stand on their word including closing hours. But the worst part was the customer service. The bald bearded man sitting at the counter looked at me when I pulled up and the looked down at the counter when I tried opening the door and ignored me when I knocked. Unprofessional and lack of customer service. I would not of even wrote a review if he would have acknowledge me and walked over and explained that maybe they closed early for lack of business. That I would understand. And now they will Have my lack of business I the future for their lack of attention to the customers who keep they establishment in business.
There should be more stars available for this restaurant. I broke my Lenten fast today but I think God understands in this case. My buddy and I often argue over who has the best Philly in the valley an we've both been wrong because we had not been to The Italian Place yet. By far this is the best Philly in the valley.
So I've been going to the Italian Place were their steak and everything sandwich since they opened up in Provo in 1972. I normally went to the shop in Orem. And now I'm glad that they have a shop here in Spanish Fork. Service is great. But the staff is always so helpful and friendly. The seating area is always clean and bright. Now for the food. The cheesesteak is made with thinly sliced steak cooked fresh on the grill with onions and peppers and mushroom mushrooms. I don't get the peppers. They give me heartburn. But the way they cook this is so awesome. The steak is always tender and juicy. And they use a little bit of salt use a little bit of salt, but a lot of black pepper. And that's what I love. And then they melt the provolone cheese on top and then put it all in one of the softest tastiest best buns I ever ever eaten. I got the full-size. They also have a half size and a monster size. They have expanded their menu to include pastrami. But I will always get the steak and everything. read more

The most high quality cheesesteak I have ever eaten. That was awesome. Generously sized fountain drink cups. Big sandwiches. This is the place to BE. Delicious. Great service too. Wonderful ambience (Italian theme). read more

This little sandwich shop has some big flavor. They have sandwiches for everyone. I got one with A1 sauce and cream cheese on it, which is different from the route I usually take here. I was not disappointed. The restaurant was absolutely packed. All the seats were taken and people were standing and waiting. I can understand why it was packed. Luckily, I was taking my sandwich to-go. The decor is simple, but nice. There are TVs on playing news and sporting events, so, if you can find a seat, there is even some entertainment. read more

The food is insanely good! We've been coming here for over a decade! We love the Italian Place! The Philly & everything is our go to. You should absolutely try this place!! More unique, amazing sandwiches are on the menu, like Pastrami Brisket and Italian Porchetta. You will NOT be disappointed! read more

The name of this place does not lead you to believe that they have Philly sandwich. However, these are some dang good sandwiches. My favorite is the Philly 'N' Everything which adds cream cheese to the sandwich. Keep in mind that the footlong is huge and you may want to stick with the 6" if you plan to get chips and a drink. There is a ton of food just in that size. The location is the last door in a strip mall on main street. The joint gets hopping at lunch time and there is limited seating so be prepared to eat in your car if you arrive late. You walk up to the counter and order, get your own drink, and have a seat while they make your meal. They call a number or your name when your order is ready to pick up. read more
