Delicious food! Staff were very nice. Great atmosphere. We will be back. Oh and try the Brussels spouts- Didn't know those could be good!

Yikes!! Everything about our evening was bad. We ordered our children steak, told him we wanted it well, and then he came back asking how we wanted our steaks cooked. We thought he was talking about OUR steaks (the one for my husband and I) so we said medium. Well all the steaks for us and the kids came back medium rare. Too bloody for the kids. When I told the waiter he said "but you told me medium for the kids" he never specified which steaks he was talking about. My husband and I don't eat carbs, and every single side is full of carbs so we asked if we could sub both of our sides for an add on of shrimp for $7 and he said yes. The bill came and he still charged us for the sides and the shrimp. He said that he 'didn't understand what we were asking originally' (don't know why he said yes then) and then he said he would ask the manager if he could do that. Came back and said that the manager said no, you have to pay for it. So I said okay then I want my sides to take home. Pretty lame the manager wasn't willing to make things right over a measily $7 which the sides we got if charged separately cost more anyways. Then had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes for our to-go sides. Will never return, bad managment, bad communication, sub par food.

Ribeye with Stuffed Potato

Newly opened in February and assumed it would be packed but took a chance. Walking in we heard 1.5 hour wait but typically always go to the bar anyway and sat right down. Ordered a margarita and a beer and perused the menu. It was nice because the Bartender is not serving booths or handling drinks for the servers! The problem is diners who don't drink alcohol and sit at the bar. In this case half the bar was non-drinkers, bummer. Had the house margarita that was great for flavor. I do like the way they handle the bar from an ID perspective, Roadhouse is intrusive and worry my personal information will be stolen, for this reason alone I may just avoid Roadhouse. As for the food, Stuffed Mushrooms were excellent, salad is salad but they did provide plenty of blue cheese, thank you. Also had the Mac & Cheese that was better than Roadhouse. Ribeye was good and flavorful as it should be due to the cut of meat although it could have been spice improved. The Shrimp were ok, what can you say, enough spice although not my cup of tea from a flavor perspective and wish they would serve large/jumbo size. Jury still out and another trip is in order to nail down the final Talley. Staff were great, attentive.

We stayed at a hotel nearby on our way home from our Thanksgiving holiday. We were referred to this…read morerestaurant due to its location and the person said that it was a great restaurant so we ventured out to try it. The restaurant is connected to the Ramada Inn hotel and very close to a mall. So location was good. Upon entering we were greeted by a young lady in jeans and a sweater, not at all what I would expect for a greeter at a steakhouse but it is a college town so whatever. We entered a warmly lit room with a good amount of tables. We ordered a wedge salad and prime rib. My husband ordered a full baked potato and I ordered the sweet potato. Our wedge salad arrived and upon inspection we both said that it was the largest and strangest looking wedge we had ever been served as it was upside down and the dressing was very odd. It was supposed to be blue cheese but it tasted bland, felt more like watered down mayo than a dressing. I took my first bite and besides the dressing, the bacon had a very odd flavor. We moved it aside and tried to eat it but neither of us could eat much of it. Then our steaks arrived and I took one look at my sweet potato and just had to laugh. It looked like they dipped the potato in some kind of batter and deep fried it! Why do that to my sweet potato!? Haha It made no sense. I opened the sweet potato and thankfully it was fine... Okay now with a heavy sigh I stared at my prime rib with shaved horseradish in a pile on one side of my steak. This was yet another perplexing situation.. it was truly raw in the sense that it was not even peeled.. just freshly grated. Beyond that it had no kick.. the waitress told us that we could mix it with sour cream if we wanted, as they did not offer creamy horseradish! Haha It was an entire comedy of errors. So I tried my best to mix the horseradish with the sour cream... it had no flavor. Then I inspected my prime rib a little closer and found half of it to be fat or grisly. I looked back at my salad at this point trying to figure out which of these items I could actually eat. The sweet potato was actually fine but nothing special. So here is where I sit with this restaurant. It may be what people like.. I wasn't a fan. It was convenient but I would not classify this as a great steakhouse. I feel someone needs to revamp the recipes because I have seen others review this restaurant and we are all on the same page with the wedge salad.

I was staying at the nearby Residence In By Marriott South University (great place). Ruby River…read moreSteak House proved to be a good choice for lunch. I ordered the eight ounce New York Steak with Onion Rings as the side. It was pretty good. I don't understand the negative reviews for the steaks here. Mine was the princely sum of $18.99. One cannot expect a prime steak for $18.99. The onion rings were good, too. It's full bar with a variety of beers, so all of your booze groups are covered. It being 11:00 a.m., I opted for an iced tea. Ambience wise, it's spacious with a western theme. The service was friendly and good. Bottom line: I'd eat here again the next time I'm in town.

Ruby River Steak House - Iceberg wedge. Wish they had turned the wedge on its side so dressing would go between layers of the lettuce . They don't stint on toppings.
