This was my first time at R&R and it was a good experience. The service was good and the line moved quickly to order. The food also came out quickly. The prices are reasonable for the portions. We came on a Saturday night and it was really busy. There were only a couple of available tables but they were all pretty messy so we had to ask for one to be wiped down. I ordered the turkey, mac and cheese, and hush puppies. The turkey was very tender and had a great flavor. I enjoyed the spicy bbq sauce with it. The Mac and cheese was yummy and creamy. I wish it had just a little more seasoning. I thought the hush puppies were so good - they could have even had more jalapeños! Overall, the food was delicious and I was surprised how yummy it was. I cant believe it took me this long to try! A couple of things that made this visit not stellar: 1) they were out of ribs 2) the food was lukewarm when it arrived. It seemed it had been sitting out for a little before coming to us. My husbands brisket and sausage was the same. I wish it was HOT but it was slightly warm - which was not very appealing 3) they need to clean the dining area often and have someone out there doing just that Will I be back? Absolutely. We got the 2 meat brisket and coleslaw, brisket nachos, and two kids pulled pork sliders with Mac and cheese. Price was about $60 before tip. Prices were high but that's usual for a smokehouse. Brisket was delicious and smokiness was good. I'm docking a star because the nachos were pretty heavy, I wish there was something in there to lighten it up, I ended up asking for more cilantro. Maybe ask for some limes if you get them. Also as a coleslaw connoisseur, their coleslaw was very MID. Not a lot of flavor. Flat taste. Definitely needed some more acidity in there. The brisket tacos were really good and reheated well the next day too. The salsa was not spicy, in my opinion. I like how plentiful the brisket and toppings were. I also ordered a side of fried pickles. They were a little on the salty side, and I actually preferred them without the ranch sauce. The fried pickles are great for sharing. The service is always nice and the food generally comes quick. A lot of people don't know this, but this location is the corporate test kitchen for new ideas and menu items. I've been to many of the BBQ joints in Utah County and while this probably isn't my top choice it's still a very solid choice. I like that they have a wider variety in their menu and it's all fairly priced. They also had pretty fast service despite the large group I was with. I like their dining room as well, it fits the BBQ vibe I like and I'd recommend dining in if you decide to stop by. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. When we arrived, none of the tables were clean, and no one greeted us or acknowledged us. I understand that one of the staff members was in the restroom, which is completely understandable, but there were others who saw us standing there and didn't say a word -- not even a quick "we'll be right with you." When we finally got our food, my order was wrong. They were kind enough to let me keep it, which I appreciated, but when the correct food came out, the sausage was cold and the brisket was extremely dry. For a BBQ spot, that was a big letdown. I'm leaving this review not to bash the business, but in hopes that they can improve on customer service and food quality. Me & My wife came here for some Lunch and the girl that was taking our order was very... uninterested in what we were ordering. She spaced and asked us over and over again "Wait... what did you say?". At least 3-4 times. She then got our entire order wrong and eventually had the kitchen remake our whole order again because she couldn't respectfully do her job. My first and LAST time getting r&r from this location. How do you mess up a brisket baked potato so badly? For starters, the potato is supposed to come loaded with the fillings (butter/sour cream/chives/bacon) and then topped with brisket. I started eating and not only was the brisket hard and mostly cold as if it had been sitting there overcooked, but there was barely any other filling in the potato. No chives, no sour cream, maybe a smattering of cheese (if that?) and I couldn't really tell if it had butter either. One star extra for the corn - since it probably comes in a pre packaged mix so it's likely impossible to mess that up. read more

It's been a few years since I first discovered R&R BBQ...and every time I find a new location, it's like a new discovery all over again. How fun is that!? (It's a rhetorical question, but if you need an answer I can tell you... it's FUN!) Today I had the opportunity to visit the Pleasant Grove location. It's kind of a strange area-during the day, I'd imagine that it's hopping with folks on their lunch breaks from the many nearby office buildings. But at 4:00 on a random Monday, it's almost a ghost town. That is great for me-no lines. My wife and I wandered in without a plan-weren't sure what we wanted to eat and were not taking our ordering very seriously. The young lady at the counter had gobs of patience with us, even cheerfully re-entering my order when I changed my mind. Sorry about that. She gave us a few suggestions as I'm sure she could tell we needed some guidance. Much appreciated! The food came out lickety-split....and hot! We had a hodge podge of meat-brisket (both moist and lean), pulled pork and ribs. We wasted no time in diving in and stuffing our faces. Along with the meats, we enjoyed the barbeque beans, potato salad and an order of peach cobbler. It was borderline grotesque the amount of food we put away between the two of us. But hey, we have no shame! Everything we had was delicious with the exception of the potato salad. I think it just had an ingredient we didn't care for, but no biggie. Everything else was great. And, the portion sizes were enough that we could package up our leftovers and present them as an acceptable meal to the teen boy at home. He'll be none the wiser that he's getting leftovers. I work close by, so I decided to order online. The pickup time was only 15 minutes from the time of ordering which was super nice especially during lunch time. The wait at other places can be 20+ minutes during lunch. The pick up process was super simple, and the staff were super nice. I got the the pulled pork sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce and a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwich had fallen apart a little, so I did have to put it together but I don't mind. The sauce comes on the side which is really nice for pickup so the sandwich didn't get soggy. Plus I like being able to decide how much sauce I want. I was a little underwhelmed with the sweet potato fries especially since they do cost extra. They were a little soggy and mushy. I know it's take out so I don't expect them to be perfect, but I expected them to be a little better. Overall, this is a super great option and I would def recommend! My son and I both got the 2 meat dinner with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was like eating cardboard. It was so dry and hard I had to drown it in bbq sauce just to get it down. My sons was the same. The pulled pork was a little better but not great. At almost $50 for 2 meals to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. This is the 2nd time we have eaten here where the brisket was overcooked and dry. I thought I'd give it one more chance but it seems like they just don't understand how to cook brisket. Stopped here with my toddler son right around noonish for some lunch. We got there right at the perfect time before there was a big rush of people. I got a two meat plate: chicken thighs and pulled pork, with Mac n cheese and a dinner roll. We went to fill up our drink cup and wait for our food. While waiting for our food one of the employees graciously gave me a kids cup so he could have his own drink. It was such a nice gesture and she knew as a mom sometimes it's just nice not to have someone else's spit in your drink. Always love me some bbq. If I don't have time to do it myself, R&R is one of the next best things. Their chicken thighs are fantastic. Tried the ribs again since it's been a while (not that I had a bad experience before, but just that I am usually a brisket guy) and they were tender and not dry. The hush puppies are more dense than I'd like. We also tried the nachos, and I've gotta say they did a pretty fantastic job with those. This place is underwhelming. Seems like a lot of people like it. The food is bland. The ribs were moist but flavorless. Maybe put some more flavorful dry rub first. The brisket was a little dry. The garlic mashers had zero garlic taste. I think they may have forgot to add on this batch. The mac n cheese didn't have too much sauce like some other places.
