I've been here a couple times now. The first time I ordered a Mac bowl to go. I got the Buffalo tender Mac bowl and it was a tad too spicy for me. Next time I will get the regular Mac bowl. Next time I went I dined in. If you download their app and make an account, they give you a free Cayenne ranch chicken sandwich! I really love and respect places that do an amazing deal like that for people. They don't even give you just the regular chicken sandwich, they give you a better one! It was our first time so we asked for extra sauces and she happily brought those and more to us! No real complaints here. In a sea of chicken shops that have taken over strip malls nationwide, Slim Chickens is one of them. I couldn't tell you what sets them apart from the billions of others, except maybe those jar desserts that looked quite good, but I don't really do a lot of desserts at fast food joints so I'm just going off of the chicken. It was chicken strips and fries. They weren't particularly flavorful, nor particularly large, nor were the sauces very memorable. But we wanted a quick dinner, and they were definitely that. I ate my tenders and tried a touch of the salad, which are both definitely things that are on the menu like all the other chicken spots. I wouldn't ever avoid the place in the future, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to anyone, either. So I finally gave this spot another shot and instead of tenders I got the Chicken Club Meal and a Strawberry Jar Dessert. The sandwich was average and I felt like the bun soaked up a lot of moisture and was mushy. The fries were just ok. The straw for the drink was super thin and my cup was 90% pure ice. The strawberry jar dessert was a great idea but it too fell flat. The cream which I was expecting to be the saving grace of this meal was a glorified cool whip. Ordered a 3 piece chicken tender. It came out with two. When I went up to get the issue fixed I was ignored by several employees as they walked past me back and forth(it was not a busy time of day). I have never written a review but given how terrible everything was I felt I owed it to the other consumer. Both visits the fries were soggy and cold with way too much salt. Chicken was seemingly seasoned only with salt and one piece was cold and the hot ones too salty to choke down. Ordered the fried pickles and the salt made them inedible. Went on a Wednesday night a week or two after opening. I try to give new places some benefit of the doubt since I have worked in the restaurant industry before and know how difficult it is to open a new place. However we waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes before receiving our food. From the window you could see that there was an ample number of employees working but they were all moving incredibly slow and many were standing around talking and not hustling at all. Part of the nature of fast food is working fast especially when you are trying to establish a customer base. When we did finally receive our food the fries were cold and the amount of fries I received for $38 bucks was ridiculous. We ordered a 7 piece chicken tender meal, the ranch sandwich and a ranch sandwich meal. We got barely any cold fries and we received none of the sauces we asked for. By the time we figured out we were missing items it wasn't worth it as I had 3 toddlers in the car crying for food they had been waiting for for over 30 minutes in a drive thru.
