What wonderful, warm service we got at this lovely little Argentinean steakhouse! Our hardworking waiter, Javier, was extremely personable and eager to please. I enjoyed the authentic morcilla ( blood sausage), but it's a taste and texture that probably isn't everyone's cup of tea. On the other hand, anyone who doesn't love their bright, herby chimichurri sauce probably should seek psychological help! We split a wedge salad and a filet mignon---the portions were generous and the food was tasty. We'll certainly return to explore more of the menu, especially the tempting desserts for which we didn't have any more room in our stomachs! read more

We had such a great experience here!! We were greeted by the owner, he is such a lively and welcoming person. You can just tell that he loves meeting new people and truly loves his job. Our waiter, Javier was also so amazing. He gave us great recommendations and checked in on us often. They start you out with a consommé, which is to cleanse your palate before you eat your food. It's like a broth so it's salty and warm and honestly pretty tasty! For appetizers, we ordered the calamari and the coconut shrimp, both were really good but the favorite was definitely the coconut shrimp! For main dishes, we ordered the Entrana steak, filet mignon prime, housemade potato gnocchi with white and red sauce, and bolognese fettuccini. Everything was seriously so good! We were visiting from Las Vegas and notice this beautiful restaurant next to our favorite breakfast place! I called and asked if I needed rsvp and they said it was ok to come in. This place is worth the price. Our server Javier was everything you need in a waiter. He was timely and friendly and professional. He's a real one. The Skirt Steak Pinwheels with fries was amazing. So many flavors in the garnishes. Mashed potato's and prime rib were good. The desserts were also fantastic. We tried the tiramisu with coffee which was sinfully delicious. Half the restaurant was empty, so my wife and 2 year old daughter thought it would quick. 10 minutes later the owner/manager comes out i said hi, he didn't acknowledge me instead said hi to my wife then told my wife what? You don't want to say hi while she is still shaking his hand. Then said hi to me. Then he told us a story in how his staff of 2 waiters are busy cleaning their half empty restaurant for us. Instead his wait staff giving customers wine instead of suppose cleaning. We left, the owner manager followed us to parking lot and told us hey we are cleaning your table why you are leaving. Proceed to let him know then tell my wife and 2 year old fine whatever and leaves . Horrible experience for an expensive restaurant. We tried La Vaca on a Friday night. The service was great our waiter Conner did an exceptional job. The restaurant was small and intimate. The meal started with the complementary bread. This was the most disappointing part. Although the bread was warm it was dense and dry and just a hard swallow all the way around. We ordered the coconut shrimp as our appetizer. The shrimp had good flavor very sweet. They were served with a cocktail sauce that in my opinion was not a great pair. We were given a complementary soup this was amazing. It was like a hug in a mug. Great flavor. For our entree we ordered the Large Short Rib with Mashed Potatoes. They were cooked to perfection and had a great flavor. I do think there are some areas that will get better over time but this is a must visit place in Provo! read more

This Steakhouse is amazing! The owner welcomed us in and is super personable. Our waiter was on the ball and gave us great recommendations. We shared Calamari between four people as a starter. It was the best I've ever had. The flavor and texture were perfect. We all tried versions of Entrana; a super flavorful version of skirt steak. All food portions are big and we took leftovers home. La Vaca is the best restaurant in Provo in our opinion, and one of our top favs in Utah! We stayed in Provo for a few days as my husband was recovery from surgery, and we went to La Vaca for dinner. The owner, Julio, treated us like relatives who had finally come home. The way he described their meals and cooking process, and helped us decide what to try, was a passionate and poetic experience! You really cant go wrong here. The Calamari is to die for. Make sure you soak up as much of the chimichurri mixture on each end you can with each bite. Include a slice of tomato, jalapeno and onion with it. Thats the way to eat it. So Delicious. We had the Ribeye but my guess any of the steaks are fantstic. The Ribeye is my favorite cut and this one was one of the best ever. Prime Cut, Perfectly cooked, tasty and well seasoned. La Vaca is a cozy smaller place but thats part of what makes it perfect. Fanstic Amiance, you could make it what you wanted it to be, romantic, fun, vivacious, you decide. We were met at the door by Julio (GM and Owner) with a smile and handshake.
