It's a small little restaurant within 8-10 minutes walking distance from the Utah Valley Convention Center. Our group of 6 people went there for lunch. I ordered the Limo Mixto with steak & shrimp. It was tasty but i wish it had little bit more sauce...felt kinda dry. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the service was super slow! I mean the lady was friendly and nice, but it took them almost 1 hour from taking our orders till the foods came out. And even after sitting at the table that long, she never brought the utensils and napkins to our table. But even so, I'm looking forward taking my family there soon. ^_^ read more

I went here a while ago and there weren't a ton of people in the restaurant. The family who owns the location speaks Spanish and it is truly an immersive experience. The service was quick and the owner even came out to talk to us. The food. So the food is why you come and I will say it is amazing. Of all the places I have been this is one of the most authentic restaurants I have been to in Utah valley. Even down to the rice the food tastes exactly the same as if you stepped into Miami or even Peru and had a Peruvian family make you one of their favorite dishes. I loved everything about Se Llama Peru! The food is incredibly delicious. Both dishes were warm, flavorful, and prepared well. Chaufa is like Peru's version of friend rice and Saltado is steak served over fries. What's not to love?! It was the perfect lunch on a cold day. The service was great, too. We were seated immediately, got our food relatively quickly, and the waiter checked on us multiple times. No complaints there! I'll admit, the ambiance isn't the most exciting part of Se Llama Peru. A little more rustic and charming--perfect hole-in-the-wall vibes. You might be tempted to walk past their door and into a more modern restaurant, but you'd be missing out. Fun little Peruvian place on Center Street! My friend loves Peruvian food and she said it's pretty authentic here. I ordered the Lomo Saltado de Pollo, and I would recommend it. I will say, my first few bites took some getting used to... It was a new flavor for me, but then I couldn't stop eating it after I convinced myself that I was full and needed to stop! The regular Lomo Saltado with steak was also good. This isn't the kind of place that I'll want to come back to all the time, but it's definitely worth giving a try! read more

The only reason I am leaving 4 stars is because service was slow. It took a while for the waitress to take our order and another long while before the food came to the table. I had great expectations of this cute restaurant but nothing was remarkeable and some appetizers were really bad. We left the yuca app and a baked potato filled with meat and veggies because first they looked like frozen and put in hot oil too fast; second, the oil tasted like fish. Really bad. My roasted chicken was ok but the fried were cold and the salad in the combo was old. My boyfriend got some perfectly forgettable dish. Service was just ok. Pick the order, serve and go. No asking if we need anything (what about some salsas or some more drinks?). Nothing. And we were the only customers. Going in, I honestly thought this would be a three or four star review but we had an excellent experience. None of us were experienced with Peruvian food but my sister had gotten a mission call for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we wanted to try food from the areas where she would be serving. We went in with a big group of ten, we all got something different and we all enjoyed our food. The best part of the experience was the amazing service. Luis taught my sister Spanish words, talked about the culture and regions of Peru, and even gave us free Inca cola and alfajores so she could have a complete experience. I found a lot of the food a little heavy for my taste buds but it was flavorful, balanced, and everyone left satisfied. Fun little stop on Center Street. The atmosphere is fun and the service was very kind and helpful. It was a fun place to get together and celebrate with friends. I ordered the Pollo Cuarto a la Brasa. It was pretty underwhelming. I mean it was yummy, but nothing worth writing home about. It tastes exactly how you would imagine a rotisserie chicken to taste. A few other people at my table ordered the Lomo Saltado and I so badly wish I would have gotten that instead! If that is what I had ordered, this place would have easily earned 4 stars from me. It was super tasty and felt more authentic Peruvian to me. Overall we had a fun experience. Very authentic tasting Peruvian food. I've only been two three other Peruvian restaurants in California and I was surprised to find this one in Utah. The portion size is smaller and more expensive than the ones in California but the quality of the food and service is great. I ordered the lomo saltado, it wasn't too oily and the rice was prepared to expectations. It was a bit salty for me but I have a low sodium tolerance. Other than that the fried yuca was also good! Their menu options are similar to other Peruvian restaurants I have been to so there's definitely something for everyone. The owner, who I believe is also the cook came to talk to my party and I about the food. He was very humble and welcoming. Went to Se Llama Peru last week during my visit to Provo. UT has good south american res. The quality of the food really surprised me. I felt like my meal could have easily cost twice as much elsewhere. The atmosphere of the restaurant could use some spiffing up. The decor is on the sparse side of what you would see at any hole-in-the-wall South American restaurant (travel posters of Peru, spanish soaps on the TV, etc). The restaurant did not seem at all dirty though, and while a face lift might help polish the experience up, Se Llama Peru has already nailed the most important part of a dining experience, great food. read more

I ordered Lomo Saltado--one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. What I liked about it 1. The fries were so crispy that even smothered in the sauce they did not get soggy and that was awesome 2. The steak was tender 3. The tomatoes were just flash pan fried so they retained their firmness and fresh taste. What I didn't like: 1. Both the meat and the rice were very salty. I usually eat food that are on the salty side but this was just too much even for me. 2. The onions were not cooked enough. It seemed like they were put in at the same time as the tomatoes, for just a minute or two--great for the tomatoes but not so much for the onions. The onions were still raw. Too bad because they used red onions and I love sautéed red onions. Service was quick (I would had been ok with it taking a little longer if that meant cooked onions) and very friendly. read more

It was a simple dish, but the steak strips were seasoned nicely and seared medium rare, the other ingredients were fresh, and the sauce was savory and just delicious.
