It was my first time at Red Fuego, my boyfriend and I both ordered the 1/4 Chicken with two sides. I got the plantains and fries and he the beans and rice. We really enjoyed the seasonings on the chicken and the sauce that came with it. I only wished there was more of it! The fries were crispy and the plantains were less so but were sweet and yummy. The beans and rice were solid but the rice could've been fresher. The service was fine but our order took a long time for being the only guests at the time. The location was clean but the floor was so sticky that your shoes got stuck. I definitely would try this place again in the future. read more

We have loved Red Fuego in Orem. Been so many times but haven't gone for about a year, just been out of the price range in this economy for our large family. I went to the Provo location tonight, never been there before. Pros, it was fast. Less than 10 min for our food. Cons, the food was sooooooo disappointing. Worst Lomo saltado I've ever had. Tough beef almost unchewable, weird undercooked rice and no juice or sauce. Usually that yummy flavorful sauce is all over but nope. The chick was okay, still flavorful. The sides were disgusting. My kids wouldn't eat the plantains for the yucca even though they've loved them in the past, and to be honest I didn't want to eat it either. Some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. Some of the best food I've ever eaten. SOOOO good! I had the 1/4 chicken and two sides. The two sides were avocado (they slice up a whole one) and mixed fruit with watermelon, kiwi, pineapple, and a slice of grapefruit. I also got a side of plantains, which was a huge plateful. I also got a soda drink there called "Guarana". A light, fruity, kind of a berry type drink. Really fantastic! They also carry Inca Cola, the yellow cola. Really, the chicken is totally amazing. My wife's bowl was totally amazing, too. Topped with roasted hominy kernels, yum! What makes this especially great is that it is next door to another 5 star location, Brooker's Founding Flavors Ice Cream! I made up a term for when two great businesses, one being a dessert, are next to each other: "Palate Pairings." And that's what Red Fuego and Brooker's is, a Palate Pairing,. You will not go wrong! I strongly recommend this place. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I need to branch out more often because I've been sleeping on Peruvian food for way too long. Red Fuego is the perfect shop to have right next to BYU campus and it fits right in with the other local classics on its block. It's sporting some excellent college vibes, making it a great place for a date or going out to eat with some friends. It has plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor and they're doing a great job keeping it clean which adds to the aesthetic. Nothing is worse than trying to find a clean table or needing to clean someone else mess and I couldn't find a single thing out of line at Red Fuego. I ordered some steak and fries while my friend ordered their chicken and sweet potato fries combo. I know everyone in Provo is a french fry critic so I'll start by saying that you won't be disappointed with Red Fuego options. Their fries aren't out to break records and probably won't be the reason you come back, but I think anyone would be pretty satisfied with both the quality and quantity of fries on their plate. The real reason you come to Red Fuego is their quality meat. I can only speak to the carne asada on my plate and it was absolutely delicious. It was paired well with a variety of veggies and seasoning and after trying it I don't think I would be happy with their chicken options, the steak was just too good! Shout out to their staff as well, they were entirely too helpful and friendly, happy to walk us through the menu for our first visit, and gave some excellent recommendations. I was really disappointed with my visit to this particular Red Fuego location. I usually go to the Lehi one but was down in Provo today. When I walked in with my sister, we were the only two guests in the store. The cashier was busy watching tik toks with her AirPods in and didn't greet us or make even a 50% effort to take our order. Then when I got my chicken bowl, it didn't come with the sauce on the side, no doubt a result of the tik toks taking precedence. It was just unfortunate all around and really made me not feel very excited to eat my meal or come back to this location. Consider me disappointed! read more

The service here was not good at all. I would give it zero stars if I could. After I receive my order, I asked for two sides of sauces. I had two meals, and they only gave me one sauce. They refused to give me one because they said if they had future customers come in later on today, they do not have enough. You would think that they would want to help their current customers that are in the store and not potential customers that may or may not come in later. Him saying, that was very odd as well being that it's only Saturday afternoon and you haven't even hit the dinner rush yet, but either way, this was not a positive experience at all and I would not recommend this place . Red fuego was actually better before (larger portions for the same price mostly) they remodeled to mcmodern aesthetics but I still like it. I used to go to the orem location a lot but have since been coming to the provo location since it opened up. It is very good despite the smaller portions. The staff are always friendly and helpful. i love Peruvian food so I eat it often. I live in Orem and work in Provo and suggest that if you can, you should go to the Provo one because the food is SO MUCH better. The one in Orem also runs out chicken often and my experience with flavor and quality of food is day and night between the two restaurants. The food was pretty good--albeit expensive--and the staff was friendly. However, I am pretty sure they forgot my order. I ordered one dish for takeout and was told it would be 10 minutes. In all it was over 50 minutes until I received my food when the place was not very full. Even many other customers who ordered after me received their meals 10-20 minutes before I did, and they also complained about the wait. We stumbled upon Red Fuego today and what a pleasant surprise. As a Peruvian-American I am always looking for good Peruvian food. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. The prices were reasonable for what we got. Lots of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy a good fresh cooked meal. The decorations were lovely and the place is inviting and clean. My lomo saltado was on point. Everything was cooked to perfection. The fries were freshly done, the meat was tender, the tomatoes not over cooked, the onion perfectly cooked. The flavor was exactly how it is supposed to be. My mom ordered charbroiled chicken, the flavor was perfection and it was so nice to have many healthy options to choose from as sides. The plantain and quinoa were so tasty. If you are looking for a delicious meal with fresh ingredients and a well served meal this is the place for you!
