I visited Locals once under the old management and today I went again under the new management. The waffles were fantastic--actually better than gluten waffles. They were neither heavy nor fluffy, but a delightful in between and they had a great flavor even plain. I had the caramel waffles and my mom got the lemon curd ones and both were fantastic. My dad got the pancakes and said they were delicious. All the full meals were fantastic and a good value for the price. The drinks not so much. $5 for soda and $6 for juice. They are bottomless and the owner came around asking if we wanted refills or if we wanted our drinks in a to go cup at the end of the meal. So that was nice, but I'd still rather have a $3 cup of juice. I didn't have the cinnamon rolls (or maybe they call them sweet rolls) but they were small and didn't look too appetizing. Great food at this corner cafe, but what was even better was the lattes! Holy smokes, the best pumpkin spice latte I have ever had! Everyone loved their breakfast items, and portions were substantial. Waffles were a big hit as a shareable for our large family. Service was amazing as we kind of bombarded them with a large group of 16 for brunch. They did amazing, getting the food out as quickly as possible as well as putting the barista in high gear pulling shots and making drinks. Definitely recommend! They didn't greet us when we walked in, they didn't say hi or seem friendly when we ordered our food, and when we got seated they kept getting our orders wrong. when they brought over the wrong food they wouldn't apologize but instead say "of course we got it wrong" then sigh, throw their arms, and roll their eyes... I totally understand working in the food industry and just having bad days, but I feel like they could be a LOT more professional. the food was ok. one of the burgers was definitely not worth $15... we also got the banana pancakes, it was good...but also two pancakes for $12 so you decide. in my opinion you don't get enough food for what you pay for. the ambiance was a bit chaotic lol. I was going to use what I had to feed myself something nice just to convince myself to keep going. the kind angel staff brought me their beautiful blueberry pancakes, the took pictures for social media and said they weren't hungry. the fed me for free and it's taking everything not to cry typing this. The BEST chicken and waffles, even if you aren't gluten free. I love having a dedicated gluten free place to eat. The only downer is how quickly they can sell out so you'll need to check their Instagram story before going to make sure they're still open. 100% Gluten Free. Like the sign outside says, bring all your weird GF here. Plenty of choices. We had the Spicy Chicken sandwich and the French Toast Sticks, which was really fried banana bread. I don't understand a breakfast place that doesn't serve coffee. Only ice water, or room temperature bottles of orange and apple juice. All the foods come in combos, so even though I only wanted plain pancakes and not the combination with bananas, whipped cream and caramel sauce, I still paid full price. I also have to question a restaurant where, when I asked about the black flecks covering my food, I was told, "That's just from other food. Not the grill." That's why you're supposed to clean the grill, obviously. The pancakes were actually tasty. The bacon was limp. The eggs were hammered. Looks like a new place, but it deserves an honest review. I was excited to try out this place. The reviews were good. The ambiance is modern and it was a comfortable and nice place to eat. I do not eat gluten free typically, but the reviews said that this was almost undetectable. I go the Breakfast Bagel Sandwich. It was pretty good. Very saucy, with types of read sauce that gave it a tank. The bacon was a good slice, think. It wasn't evenly cooked, some places a bit crisp, some a bit soft. Not sure that is a plus or minus, just maybe a preference thing on bacon. The egg was fried, with a runny yoke, which I always feel is a plus. The bagel was good, crisp. I could tell it was gluten free, and it was good. I am not sure I would come again for a bagel sandwich. There are several other things on the menu I might try though. read more

I don't eat gluten free (GF) but I am so happy that people who need to eat GF have a place like this! The food surprised me, I think there's a common misconception about GF, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc type food in that it will be "different" but I felt like every dish was just as good as any other restaurant I've been to. The service was fairly quick & the restaurant space felt cozy where I could comfortable hang out with my friend while eating. If you want to watch your friend eat their food first and then get your own. This is a great place. They charge two dollars for a sacrament cub size of avocado and burnt everything. They got our food wrong twice and we don't like to be picky but they burnt everything. I'm going to provide photos of the attempted scrambled eggs that tasted like I was drinking out of the Galveston, Texas Bay and I've never had scrambled eggs that are crunchy. I'm not joking about waiting. My girlfriend finished all of her food and I waited another 10 for minutes for mine. The server keeps bringing other peoples food to our table and it's a health hazard when they touch it and bring it back. We had 3 orders come to our table. Food was basic, eggs over cooked and tasted like rubber, the banana fosters pancakes were drenched with the caramel sauces WAY too sweet for anyone to eat, and the bacon was over crispy and greasy. Eggs were overcooked and we weren't even asked how we wanted them cooked. Over medium all around. Next, my wife ordered a breakfast sandwich and after they brought it out we noticed no avocado. We asked about it and they said they were out. They didn't tell us that when we ordered and didn't offer a different meal instead of the sandwich. What is that. We traveled almost an hour to eat here due to some online hype we saw. I am so glad to see a business thriving however it was really struggling and after eating there I was confused what the hype was about. There is nothing proprietary about this business. Everything we ate was simple, gluten free foods. The mozzarella sticks I was so excited for are straight out of a bag you can buy at Walmart (watched the employee restock straight from the bag). The bagel (also just store bought) had almost no cream cheese on it. The bananas foster pancakes were fantastic and seemed actually made in house. I've just never had to wait an hour for food that all comes straight from premade bags. I couldn't even drink my soda while I waited. We had to wait until our food was prepared to have our drinks. While I fully understand a business getting busy, there are many ways to be efficient. If nothing is being homemade, food shouldn't take an hour. The decor is cute but it's really tiny and very limited seating. read more

We placed an order two days ahead of time for a 9am pick up time and when we showed up to get our order we had to wait 35 minutes! We were the only people in the entire store. The workers were very rude about the situation and refused to accommodate us knowing we had a pick up order that was supposed to have been ready. We paid $100 for a pick up order that was not ready. I ordered the stuffed french toast and the cinnamon roll. Both were fantastic. I had to try the bacon/maple donuts so took a half dozen to go. That was also incredible. I am not gluten intolerant and can really eat almost anything, but I have eaten some gluten free foods in the past and felt they lacked texture and flavor. These items were as good as anything gluten that I have had. The owner and the staff were all friendly and the service was great. I recommend Locals as a great place to dine. Being an all gluten free menu, but offering great food and flavor, it can be loved by all. Gluten free folks .......take your non-gluten free family there and they will be impressed. I was so excited to try this gluten free gem. The girls working there were so friendly and helpful. We tried a ton of stuff. The mozzarella sticks had a good crunch and were delicious. I just wish they hadn't arrived cold (as did the marinara). A little softer cheese would have been nice. I got the bagel sandwich. There was so much going on with the toppings! It was so good. My husband got the breakfast fries. He wishes they had been a little warmer... the cheese wasn't melted... but otherwise they were good. Lots of sauce flavors. We also got the cinnamon roll. I think it needs to be noted that it's made with CAPUTO wheat starch (gluten removed). This shop says it's dedicated GF but it's exactly that, not safe for someone with a wheat allergy. I've never been diagnosed celiacs, not sure if it's a wheat allergy so I tried it with my daughters, we will see. The cinnamon roll was a little disappointing. The texture was nice but I think the dough needed a little more salt. The star of the whole show was the bananas foster French toast sticks. We got them dairy free. They were amazing!
