Hit the spot - savory, flavorful, and wonderfully presented on the plate. Their fresh squeezed orange juice came in 4 flavors: original, with guava (my fav!), with sparkling cider, and with Red Bull. Fun little brunch spot! Had a 10 minute wait. Service was basic. Nothing special or noteworthy. I was craving chocolate chip pancakes, which they don't have, but they were able to make me regular pancakes with a side of Nutella. The pancakes were the perfect size (small) and had good flavor. Mixed experience -- great food potential, but service needs work We had an 11:30am reservation for a party of 6, and unfortunately the restaurant seemed short-staffed for a group our size. They had one waitress, two cooks, one hostess, and the owner on the floor. The food (when it worked): The Urban Guacamole Toast was the standout of the meal -- great flavor and quality, no complaints there. The Sirloin Tips & Eggs were also a hit with the two guests who ordered it, and the Italian Sandwich went over well too. Where things fell short: Service pace: We waited 45-50 minutes for food to arrive, which is a long stretch for a mid-morning meal. Guests who ordered French Toast finished eating before the rest of the table's orders even came out. Order accuracy: The kitchen/wait staff forgot to serve the hashbrowns with our meals. They eventually remembered, but we were near close to being done with our meals. When they brought it out, they forgot a serving. Hostess experience: The greeting at the door felt like an afterthought. A warm welcome goes a long way, especially for a group reservation, people come for the food, but the first impression matters just as much. Ambiance issue: There seemed to be a plumbing problem somewhere near our table, as a noticeable smell lingered throughout the meal. Seating us elsewhere would have made a big difference, especially since it was brought to the owner's attention by our table. We stopped and gave this place a try despite the reviews claiming long waits and we were not disappointed! In fact, we were pleasantly surprised! Our wait wasn't too long and while we waited we got to chat with our waitress and even the owner. He was kind enough to explain some of their changes, both undergoing and future ones. They just shifted to new ownership and management with all new staff and despite that they were on top of taking our order and making sure our food came out in a timely manner. The food itself was AMAZING!! The breakfast burrito was the table favorite but everything we got was yummy. We also tried their berry French toast and yogurt açaí bowl. Urban Kitchen has a modern but fun look. The building is clearly new and clean. From what little we saw downstairs there aren't many seating options (a few tables and booths) but we didn't venture upstairs to the event venue. All and all it was a good experience between kind and accommodating staff, delicious food, and a fun spot to be, I look forward to visiting again when they've done more with the space. read more

The owner and our waiter went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and enjoy our girl's brunch experience. The ambience is warm and open- the big windows help make the space feel big and bright. I tried the Breakfast Sandwich with Steak Tips and it made me feel nice and full but balanced not over. We also got to try pressed juice. My friend ordered a commercial orange juice and you can really taste the difference!! The pressed orange juice is way more delicious and substantial You can taste a difference from the commercial orange juice. It feels juicer and best way to describe it not watered down. We arrived a little before 11 and it wasn't very busy, there were a few tables open. It did seem like they were struggling with getting orders out though. The waiter appeared flustered and we could hear some arguing between her and the cooks in the kitchen. When she came to our table she was friendly, but didn't introduce herself like they typically do, she just jumped straight into asking what we wanted to drink. I ordered an iced latte with caramel syrup. It was fine, not the best coffee I've ever had. We ordered the French toast and the breakfast burrito, and it took about 50 minutes to get our food. The French toast had delicious flavors, but it was cold, probably because it had been sitting for a bit. The burrito, on the other hand, was really yummy and was warm. The side salad with the burrito was actually really good too! The French toast was supposed to come with a side of potatoes, and I had to flag down the waiter to ask about them. She said yes and then went to the kitchen window to put it in, but I heard her tell them to make tater tots. I'm not sure if that's what their potatoes are supposed to be, but I've seen other reviews where it looked like regular breakfast potatoes. It was a little confusing, but I let it go because I'm honestly not sure I would've gotten anything if I hadn't asked. I would definitely come back, but I think they need to figure out their timing since we weren't the only table waiting quite a while for food. This is a new brunch place right in Pleasant Grove. The service was exceptional. We enjoyed two wonderful dishes. We like to do sweet and savory for brunch. We ordered the Mexican skillet with bacon which was delicious. Then we also got French toast made with brioche bread and served with a berry compote made right in the restaurant. I already devoured the first half of my burrito before I took a pic. I came in alone and took their breakfast burrito with ham to go. Staff was so kind and the place is gorgeous!! I ordered eggs Benedict and they were delicious! My husband had steaks and eggs and they were also delicious. Both were with hash browns that were exceptionally crispy, exactly how I love them! Few things that might help make this better because we want this place to be successful. Consider giving steak knives for both steak and eggs Benedict (the English muffin button was grilled nicely but it was hard to cut through). My eggs Benedict were supposed to come with fried capers. Instead I had onion straw on them. It was delicious but if I didn't like onions I would have been disappointed to order something without them and getting them. It would have been better if we were told they were out and that I could get onions instead. Small things that won't prevent us from coming back but other people could get discouraged. I can tell they're fairly new so I wanted to write this in support. Very friendly. They paid attention to our order. Fixed any mistakes promptly. And most of all the food was great. All the food looked like it was cooked with such precise care. Pancakes looked perfect. French toast was beyond tasty and beautiful. The ranchero was cheesy with egg and full of vibrant flavors. 9 grain toast was crispy yet soft with butter. My whole family enjoyed all of the dishes. Nothing went to waste. We even took our leftovers and finished them later. We were nervous to try out the place because it had limited reviews but we are glad we did. I took one star off because window sills and floor could be more cleaner and the food arrival was a little delayed. Now I don't mind food arriving late if it is good but they should definitely hire another cook or a helper. It wasn't busy at all but it did take a while for our food to be delivered. The hash browns were cold, bland, and undercooked. The atmosphere was boring. There seemed to be no decor, just black painted walls. It seems unfinished. We enjoyed brunch on Father's Day- first time here after watching it be built out. All our food was excellent- we tried a variety to get a sense of the menu. The burrata salad was beautifully presented and full of sweet and savory tastes. The strawberry crepes had a nice chewiness and were not overly sweet. The avocado toast had bright flavor with street corn under the avocado and sweet tart sun dried tomatoes. The egg was perfectly poached as well. I had the breakfast sandwich that had the most tender brioche roll soft scrambled egg and generous mozzarella cheese. Everything but the salad had hashbrowns that were crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. One of the owners came by our table and offered us fresh squeezed orange juice as we were waiting for our food. Another time I would order a large glass.
