Fantastic food and service! We came to La Caille and enjoyed their Valentine's Day special menu, the food was to die for and we immensely enjoyed the wine flight paired by Troy -- who we were lucky enough to have as our waiter this evening. He was extremely knowledgeable and very personable, he was even kind enough to give us a tour after our meal. We also had the pleasure of meeting Meg and Zane this evening, they were so professional and lovely to talk to. Matt in valet was so helpful when our Uber couldn't find its way to us at the end of the night. The food and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for in a romantic evening, but the people at La Caille put the experience over the top and I wish I could give more stars. We just liked being there with them, which is such a rare experience when you're going out to dinner. Can't wait to come back to learn more about and experience this place. Thank you! read more

I attended a Sunday brunch with some friends at La Caille recently. First off, the main entrance was closed so to get there it was a detour through the backside of the property via a residential neighborhood. Thankfully they had signs. I had done my research ahead of time otherwise it wasn't clear that there is no self parking options-only valet parking. The grounds and property are beautiful and we enjoyed some photos ahead of brunch. Our group was seated in a semi-private room and the service was impeccable. However - the food... was sadly lackluster and overpriced. I had the chateau breakfast for $39 which included eggs to order, ham (my protein choice), breakfast potatoes and a small slice of crème brûlée French toast. The highlight for me was the potatoes. The ham super dry, the eggs undercooked(I ordered over medium and they were like a sunny side up consistency), and the French toast felt like eating sand without much flavor. We have dined at La Caille on multiple occasions, for brunch and dinner, and have celebrated several holidays here as well, including Easter brunch most years. Last year's Easter brunch, as well as every other meal we've had here in the past, was nothing short of wonderful and we always felt like the entire experience--food, service, and atmosphere--justified the price. That is, until New Year's Eve dinner to ring in 2026. It was a disappointing visit for a number of reasons, but we figured it was a one-off experience as all of our previous meals here had been much better. However, the real focus of this review is Easter brunch 2026, and we did not feel like the restaurant earned redemption. To start, instead of a restaurant-style experience as in year's past, we were surprised by the serve-yourself buffet. Our family welcomes changes but the walk to the buffet was long and involved stairs--which concerned us for our grandparents walking with their plates.  At one point, my dad wanted ketchup but didn't want to walk all the way back to the buffet and back again to the table because it was so far away. I'm not typically one to critic so harshly, but $140 per person for what is essentially a slightly elevated hotel breakfast buffet is a bit absurd. The prime rib station was exciting and the macarons were impressive, but the rest of the food was subpar. Sitting in hotel style buffet trays were hotel style breakfast foods. Potatoes, eggs, pan french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, and wagyu sliders all sitting in the heat of the trays. Because of the set up, the sliders and benedicts had tough, dry bread and the onions of the sliders were a poor attempt at caramelization. There were also charcuterie and fruit trays that were empty almost the entire time. Even nicer hotel breakfasts have an egg station option so you don't have to eat the tray scrambled powdered eggs, but not at La Caille. Even the seafood table left us unimpressed, as the shrimp and crab lacked freshness in taste and the texture was reminiscent of rubber. For the service, my family was quite disappointed by how long the empty plates were left on our table given the lack of actual service the server had to give, the length of time it would take to get to the buffet and back, and the price of the buffet ($140 per person). Additional gratuity was still expected.   The Easter Bunny was a fun part of our brunch, and the decor always provides an enjoyable ambiance. And though it is a beautiful property, it is NOT impressive or expansive enough to skimp on food quality and service in exchange for a suggestion of a walk. I actually came here for a wedding. The grounds, the venue, everything is absolutely beautiful. I can definitely see why the bride and groom chose this spot for their wedding and reception and after party. The swans the peacocks, they were also beautiful to admire and observe outside. I was here on New Year's Eve in the dead of winter and no matter how cold it seemed to get outside, it didn't matter. I was just in awe of those birds and watching them. It made me forget about how cold I was. We had the most amazing food service people helping us all throughout the night. I don't know if they are connected to the restaurant here or not, but if they are, they do an amazing job. And even if they are not a part of the restaurant, I still must commend them on maintaining such professionalism no matter how goofy this group got. They were so friendly and so polite. It was nice to be able to chitchat with them a little bit when possible. They really did bring out some of the most delicious food. The women's restroom was very interesting. It had some of the Most unique looking wallpaper. The restrooms were very nicely maintained. Paper towels, and toilet paper and all the things were just being replenished constantly, throughout the night. I love that there are very comfortable seats just outside of the men's and women's restroom. It's kind of a nice little tucked away. Small quiet space. I didn't have a chance to walk more of the grounds, but from what I could see, everything was so beautiful. All of the walkways were lined with snow and lights were on because we were there for the wedding but also just because of aesthetics. It was so beautiful to see those twinkling lights against the snow. I personally have never experienced anything like it until this past December, 2025 on New Year's Eve. read more

We went here for our 5 year anniversary and were both very excited. Unfortunately, our table wasn't ready until more than 30 minutes after our reservation time. That wasn't the greatest start to our experience. But while we waited, we walked around outside. It is so beautiful there--magical even. The inside is also very cool. I loved the antique touches in the bathrooms. The details are all attended to. Our server was really great. She comped us for a dessert because she forgot to put in the order for our entrees, so we were waiting a very long time between courses. This also added some stress as we were paying a teen to babysit our son while we were out. We hadn't planned for our reservation to be late, AND for our dinner to be so delayed. Two standout items on the menu for us were the lobster bisque and the bacon appetizer, which I forgot to take a picture of. Both of these were SO delicious. The bread also was amazing. For the entrees, my gnocchi was a little bit dry, and my husband's steak wasn't cooked the way he wanted (it was overdone). We got the sticky toffee pudding, and it was good. My husband liked it more than I did. Overall, with the delays and the entrees not really being great, I don't know if we will be back for how much this place costs. I would only rate this as OK. We went for dinner after looking at the menu online it has items we like. Comments: They say upscale but is it really? They sat us by a window and I froze (it was in the 20's outside). I've been to many many upscale restaurants and guess what no one is ever cold. I get that it is a rustic restaurant but no one should be uncomfortable when they are eating. No salt and pepper on the table. This is a nit pick to be fair, but I didn't see a Michelin Star anywhere, lets not get ahead of ourselves guys. The Amuse Bouche (which was a kale salad) was under seasoned and frankly can a Kale salad be considered an Amuse Boushe? For food we ordered the following: Potato Croquette- Acceptable, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Lobster bisque x2- Excellent. portion size was spot on and very flavorful. Slightly under seasoned...I looked around for a salt shaker... Mains- Lobster Risotto for me. It was nice, lobster was ever so slightly over cooked but not so much that you would complain ( I guess I just did) but for $68.00 I expect perfection. Portion size was on the small side. I get that it's fine dining but there should still be value. I don't need a big pile of food but risotto is cheap they could have added a little more. Veloute De Mer for the wife. This was the star of the show. Portion size was perfect, fish, clams, scallops, shrimp all perfectly cooked in a perfectly seasoned white sauce. Really the star of the dinner. I made it back to La Caille with some friends for Saturday jazz evening with drinks at Les Secrets bar and the appetizer menu. It was wonderful. Beautiful setting and great service. We are lucky to have such a beautiful restaurant in the South Valley. I think it's the nicest restaurant in the county. The singer and the accompaniment were enjoyable to listen to. The guests were well dressed and enjoyable to be around. My friends were impressed and it was their first time there. Bryan was very attentive as a server. Troy worked well as a bartender and Laura, the hostess, was very helpful. I would recommend this venue to everyone. I recommend it to all my friends that come into Utah. It was such a pleasure. The vibes at La Caille are stunning. The drive up to the restaurant resembles a magical holiday experience with all of the light displays. I went with a group for dinner. We had a lovely server who was attentive to the different dietary restrictions at the table. She always made sure that our needs were met which was greatly appreciated. I ended up ordering the Braided Salmon which has a beautiful presentation, however there was something lacking about the flavor. It was good, just not memorable. I've lived in Utah for 26 years and had yet to try La Caille until a house guest decided to treat us. First impression: Although brightly lit at the main entrance, the road past this, leading up to the restaurant was under construction. At 6:45pm on a winter night, this seemed treacherous in that ponds and a narrow drive and no additional lighting made for a bit of disequalibrium. A very tasty parmesean bread was delivered to the table with homemade butter. The appetizers ordered were muscles and a tasty potato inards rolled up into balls. Menu items for vegans were nil. For vegetarians, a gnocci was the only choice. Although tasty, this was of appetizer size. The steaks ordered were enjoyed by the meat eaters in the group. The dessert ordered was a bread pudding. Although good, it was not at the level of excellence required for a fine dining establishment. The dinner here is a must. I would say the tasting is something that could be a skip. The plate in my picture is the gluten free option for the tasting and was an atrocious $16. NOTE: you cannot do a tasting without the food. Also I want to add I may be considered a snob for this but I'm a trained level one sommelier. Hearing the person running the tasting mispronounce the varietals made me feel like It was a waste having a person run the event. The dinner made this experience worth while. Our server was the kindest and we were celebrating an engagement and she was constantly checking in and always asked us what our preferences was. We went to the tour and tasting event and after hearing about La Caille for 12 years and having high expectations we were NOT disappointed. I would strongly recommend this experience- the grounds are stunning. You feel transported out of Utah for an evening and the way they have it set up you go at your own pace and just enjoy the bites, drink, views and company. At the end of the event they had a saxaphone and additional drinks available for purchase at the patio/pool. I thought the price was high for the small plates but I would quite gladly pay it again. My husband was still hungry at the end of the meal and though they made a vegetarian main dish for me the sides were not vegetarian. The other food was very good though. Sunday brunch at @lacailleutah is truly a magical experience from the drive to the restaurant, the drive way, the reception area, throughout the restaurant and of course the winery and pond with all the wildlife! We opted to sit outside which was a great decision due to all the wildlife, beautiful views and amazing weather. We explored the grounds before and after brunch and had an amazing time. The croissant with a sweet glaze was delicious. My husband enjoyed his salmon Benedict and my mushroom, goat cheese omelette hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive. We had an incredible time at Les Secrets which is tucked away in La Caille. Everything from the food to the atmosphere and service was so well executed that it immediately became one of our favorite spots for date night. Even driving up to the actual restaurant was part of the experience for us. I would recommend this restaurant for someone who wants to have an all over amazing experience, this place cannot be replicated. I had the Wagyu steak paired with the Figment of my Imagination cocktail and my wife had the Tuna over crispy rice paired with the passion fruit Crème Soda mocktail. Highly recommend all, the sear on the steak was nice and the tuna tasted very fresh. From the beautiful grounds to the food, I think La Caille is worth a visit. We came a little early so we could take our time walking around the beautiful gardens. It really is a picture worthy setting. Small bridges, lush flowers, waterfalls and ponds, and peacocks. We sat indoors but had a view of an outdoor patio where one of the peacocks was walking around the tables. Our meal was pricey but I have no complaints as far as taste and quality go. We got steak and they were cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very attentive and knew the menu quite well. The only negatives I can mention are the flies we had to shoo away from our table due to the patio door being opened and closed and the Tres Leche coffee cake for dessert. Tres leche is my favorite cake and this was far from a traditional style Tres Leche. It was lacking the best part; the spongy cake soaked in milk that drips off your fork. read more

A Disappointing Experience, But Hoping for Better Next Time We were really looking forward to our visit, but unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. After waiting a long time and watching many others being served before us, we finally had to bring our concerns to the staff's attention. While we did receive multiple apologies, we asked to speak with a manager twice and were told they were too busy to come over. Instead, a discount was applied to our bill -- even though we hadn't asked for that. What we really wanted was simply to share our experience and help the team understand what went wrong. As locals who genuinely want to support our neighborhood restaurants, we hope this feedback is taken to heart. Listening to customers directly -- especially when they take the time to voice concerns -- is a valuable opportunity for growth. The 5 stars is mainly because of Stephanie, she is hands down the best, most accommodating, helpful, sweetest wedding coordinator I've met. Brides, this is important when looking for a venue! We went for our anniversary and we loved everything about it. The flavor, presentation, quality, & price were made for a luxury experience. The decor and atmosphere was surreal and immersive. We love trying new foods and often dine out and we have nothing bad to say. The food was splendid in flavor and presentation and we were offered A few complimentary food items between our courses that kept things so fun and exciting. The valet parking was very convenient and made us feel classy for our evening. The service was so kind and happy. We loved our waiter. They were clean and very efficient. To top it off the grounds are immaculate and a wonderful way to end the evening after we had stuffed ourselves with fine food. It was nice to causally stroll through the gardens and around the ponds. The flowers were beautiful and the feathered friends were fun to watch. 10/10 would recommend. Probably not for little kids though. ll phone Been going here for special occasions since moving to Utah six 6 years ago. Had been excellent but 8/13/25 was a disaster for wife & me and not worth even close to the $250.000 it cost (not counting the $50.00 tip) . Our Escargo was oily butter and no garlic detected. Onion soup was great, but down hill again from there. My Bouillabaisse was spicy (and no caution on menu). Regardless, that is not how it should be. My wife had Coq Au Vin and the chicken tasted like it was old & had been sitting iin the refrigerator for a week. With a 45 minute wait to turn back items and order somethiing else, we just forced our way thorugh the main course. Desert was ice cream and sorbet which was just O.K. but sorbet had a wierd taste. Waitress "comped" us that desert becaus we told her how bad our food was and she could see it was hardly eaten. Best of all, actually worlst of all, I called on Friday to tell General Manager ("Emily") how terrible the food was. We had a very pleasant conversation but all she had to say was, "Thank you, I will tell the kitchen" and then said she hoped we would give the restaurant another chance. Not even an offer to refund or reduce the charge on our credit card and not even an offer to mail one of their prepaid credt cards for some set sum tohave us back. We probably would not ever use it and wouldn't dare give it to someone else in our family. We have eaten at the finest french restaurants in Los Angeles and New York and know what the dishes should taste like. It seems that La Caille tried hard to be different. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Les Secrets, their newly opened bar, and it was an experience I won't soon forget - though probably for all the wrong reasons. First and foremost, the service was absolutely horrendous. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained; when they did, they barely engaged with us. It really felt like they were going through the motions, not giving any attention to customer satisfaction. We waited over an hour for our entrée, and not once did the waiter check on us until we had to flag him down. When we did get his attention, he offered some focaccia to make up for the kitchen losing our order, which felt more like a band-aid for their mistake. He then proceeded to bring out another appetizer, which we politely declined. We still hadn't received our food twenty minutes later, so we left money on the table to cover our drinks and walked out. To top off the miserable experience, the waiter chased us down at the valet to ensure we had paid our tab. He then claimed he was "only coming out to apologize" after we explained that the money had already been left on the table. This interaction was beyond frustrating - not only had we been treated poorly throughout the meal, but his approach was more of an afterthought than a genuine attempt to make things right. As for the space, it felt like we had stepped into what could only be described as a converted back-of-house area. This could have been a great opportunity to turn it into a hidden speakeasy, offering a sense of mystery and intimacy, but instead, they opted to convert it into a dysfunctional space with no thought given to ambiance or design. The layout lacked any sense of intention. The furniture was poorly designed and uncomfortable and gave off a disappointing vibe as if they were more concerned with maximizing the space than creating a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere. The lounge chairs, in particular, were too low for the tables, making it difficult to enjoy the meal comfortably. It's almost like they didn't consider how customers would actually interact with their furniture. The ambiance was practically nonexistent. There was no lighting to set a mood, a hodge podge of decorations stuffed into the fireplace, and the whole environment felt sterile and uninviting. It was like someone took an underused space and slapped a bar in it without considering any aesthetic or comfort. Lastly, the menu was disappointingly limited. There weren't many food choices, and the overpriced cocktails didn't live up to the hype. For a new bar, I expected more variety and quality. What we got was underwhelming at best. The staff could really benefit from reading "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara. If they took a page from his book, they might understand how to turn a mediocre experience into something truly special, focusing on treating guests with the care and attention they deserve. La Caille--a restaurant long regarded as a 5-star destination for special occasions--could really use a wake-up call. With all the exciting new restaurants popping up, especially those with young, modern vibes and chefs being nominated for James Beard awards, La Caille needs to stop riding on the coattails of its past and start competing in today's food scene. The dining landscape is changing, and it's time for them to step up their game if they want to remain relevant. All in all, Les Secrets felt more like a half-baked idea than an actual bar. From the terrible service to the uninspired space, uncomfortable seating, and lackluster menu, there was nothing about this place that makes me want to return. As some others have said, you really pay for the atmosphere. The chateau is gorgeous and you get to walk around the grounds freely. Which isn't much considering we went in February and grounds is covered in snow, but I imagine it's beautiful in warmer weather. Also, we have only dined for Sunday brunch, so I cannot speak for dinner. The service was kind of confusing. They do valet parking only. The boys outside were professional. We stepped into the building and was greeted by a young lady who was kind of glum? And told us to wait 10 min for our table. Note that this is a reservations only restaurant, so not sure why we had to wait at all. Our server, Deb, was delightful and friendly though. The food was really just okay. I ordered the cranberry walnut French toast with ham, and the ham was what you would expect at your local diner. The french toast was too mushy in texture. My partner ordered the croque monsieur and it was great, but the crispy potatoes were not really crispy as advertised. It's not that we were disappointed with anything, but for steep prices of $30+ for each brunch item, the quality of food did not match. We did appreciate the complimentary little croissants. The best thing I think we had was the local madera elk sausage we ordered on the side (not pictured). All that being said, I'm still curious to return for dinner one day. This was a 10 out of 10 experience for my boyfriend and friends Upon arrival, the very friendly valet took our car, and we wandered the immaculately gorgeous grounds with beautiful peacocks everywhere Rushing river and Vineyard, blue skies, and manicured gardens followed. We decided to have a mimosa in the bar where Kade served us, he was friendly and wonderful. Troy was our server in the dining room, and the food was beyond my expectations. Fresh croissants that literally knocked my socks off. I was not wearing socks, but it still happened. We ordered the French toast, elk sausage, and hollandaise goat cheese mushroom omelette. Troy had forgotten to bring an espresso to the table, but he rectified that professionally, and in a friendly way. Needless to say the espresso was also delicious. Troy makes hot sauce himself and brings it to the restaurant-- that was something special. this was a beautiful experience!!! My only issue was there was a birdbath on its side, a wheelbarrow in full view, and a lot of maintenance/gardening things that were not pretty, other than that I loved my experience read more

The sides were delicious. However, the steak itself was not very good. At $300 I would have expected something better than what I would get at Ruth's Chris. It was filled with lots of big fatty pieces and when cooked at medium, the inside was a bit rubbery. When I cook a medium rare steak at home, it has a perfect inside and isn't that rubbery sort of look. I'd recommend trying other dishes. If you get a steak I'd bump it up one level from what you normally order. I normally like medium but would get medium well next time. The location was beautiful as we walked the grounds. read more

I recently visited La Caille for the first time, for brunch. We had a lovely time and hope to return later this year. Staff was all very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Brunch included a croissant with caramel and a delicious amuse-bouche - chocolate with a peppermint marshmallow. My partner has celiac and asked if the omelette was gluten-free (it is). Our server brought GF rolls for him instead of a croissant without us having to ask, which was considerate. I ordered the Chateau Breakfast (eggs, potatoes, french toast, berries) and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the omelette which had interesting flavors and lots of mushrooms and cheese. Yes the prices are on the high end but I felt like it was worth it. I left full and satisfied, had great service, and the restaurant and grounds are huge and unique. The whole experience justifies the prices. read more
