I'm Here to See a Man About a Queso

Prohibition is always a great stop! Their drinks are amazing and the vibe is immaculate. We love their Tommy gun tacos but got the fish tacos this time and they were also delicious! Highly recommend either of them. This is a great spot for date night!

Came back here for my birthday. Man, this place does not disappoint. The food tastes immaculate, the servers are so professional and checked in on us quite frequently, and the ambiance is so welcoming and comfortable. We were there late enough to get some live music too, which is a great time. Definitely one of the top 3 best food spots in SLC in my opinion. Will def be coming back.

We have been here a handful of times for brunch. Walking into the "antique shop" was fun, and you can purchase the antiques! We had more fun checking out the antiques than we should have at a speakeasy. We always have great service, fun hosts, and exceptional food! The chicken and waffles was good, the chicken was definitely the best part. The Cobb salad was very fresh, the blue cheese crumbles weren't overwhelming the perfect addition to the salad. The thick bacon in the salad was delicious, The tomatoes weren't ripe, and they lacked flavor. The chicken breast on the salad was grilled to perfection, it was so good! The french toast was so delicious , you have to get the French toast!

Fedora Fin (Cole slaw salad with Ahi tuna) - A plate of seared tuna with a seasoned crust is presented on a white dish, topped with shredded cheese and served alongside shredded vegetables. The setting appears to be a restaurant with a warm, dimly lit interior, and the table includes water glasses, a bottle, and utensils. The background shows other diners and ambient lighting.

This place is quite the experience. You walk in through a small shop that has a hidden entrance to the speakeasy once you check in with the "clerk". The lighting is dim in the best way, very cute ambiance with colorful stained glass lamps and Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress, Natalia, was very friendly and helpful. She helped me pick a drink that was SO GOOD. We ordered: - "on the hook" appetizer - $19 - "fedora fin" ahi salad - $19 - "the patsy burger" - $28 - "pep in your step" pasta - $34 - "the gatsby" cocktail - $16 - "whiskey & wonder" - $19 - "saloon macaroon" - $17 Everything tasted delicious. The portions were pretty small, especially for the pasta. However, this feels pretty expected because you're not coming here for the portion sizes. You're coming for the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the speakeasy experience. Live music some nights of the week (Wed - Sat? Don't quote me) I will definitely be back!

Cool atmosphere in the bar area

Cool atmosphere, and a great selection of cocktails. My husband and I stopped by for drinks after a movie, and were happily surprised to find such an interesting spot in the area. Service was attentive. My only complaint was that after asking our waiter for a recommendation between two cocktails, he suggested another one without warning me about the price. At $35, it was quite more pricey than the average $18 on the menu, including the ones I had originally picked. That's unfortunate because based on that experience, I don't think I'd go back.

This place is for having drinks and chill out only. The servants were not great, they didn't pay attention to our reserved table, they seemed to not caring at all. Ordered the Dip the bill meal (duck breast), they brought super fat skin duck and not breast, I could not cut it! I asked the crew to replace it and they replaced it with tacos which were better in quality. Overall it was 3 star experience and not for everyone

What a great place. Starting with the entrance. No clue there was a restaurant behind that wall. The service was simply phenomenal, from great suggestions to attention. Food was on point as well. I had a great meal paired with a great wine. They had live music at the time of my visit, and given the intimate nature of this hidden place, it really elevated the experience. There is a bar if you want to go by yourself and plenty of seating for a couples dinner and/or a friend gathering. I would definitely recommend this great place. See you next time I'm in town for business. Keep it up!

A white square plate holds two fried food items with skewers inserted, dusted with powdered sugar, and accompanied by a small cup of dark dipping sauce. The plate is placed on a dark, textured table surface. Part of a person's arm and wristwatch are visible in the background, indicating a dining setting.

Walked in and you get transported to the roaring 20's loved the outfits of the staff. I got eggs Benedict and it was delicious Love the hash browns with quinoa and kale! Yes please Pineapple mimosa to wash it down. Just tasted like bubbly pineapple juice Husbands Irish coffee was a little strong for me or maybe not big fan of whiskey haha Husband ordered the monte cristo sandwich and it was good outter layer was little tough. Definitely would like to come back for dinner Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday they have jazz/blue music Friday/sat burlesque Sunday black and white movies

Eggs Benedict - A rectangular plate holds two Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce and chopped chives, alongside a serving of hash browns with crispy edges and shredded cheese. The plate is on a dark granite table, with a person in a striped shirt visible in the background. The setting appears to be a restaurant or bar with a vintage or speakeasy style, as indicated by the context of Prohibition in Salt Lake City.

I love speak easy's! This one is a gem in Murray, UT next to fashion place mall. Take a trip back to the 1920's and enjoy vintage decor and vibes. Even the waiters/waitresses are dappered-up in old-style clothing. Makes for a cool experience. Tuesdays = Live Jazz Wednesdays = Live Blues Thursdays = either/or Fridays = Burlesque night Saturdays = Burlesque Sunday = Black/White movies We came for Sunday brunch. It was pretty good. I got an Irish Coffee which ide def order again. I also ordered a Monte Cristo - brioche buns with fried batter, ham and cheese. It took me back to the blue-bayou at Disneyland. Our waitress was really friendly. She checked on us multiple times. We'll be back, but next time for dinner.

Cool vibe - The image shows a bar counter with a vintage cash register, surrounded by shelves filled with various liquor bottles, including whiskey, gin, and other spirits. The background includes a brick wall and warm lighting, creating a classic bar atmosphere.

One of our favorite date nights. Prohibition and the Eccles Theatre. Opening weekend of Wicked! So good. They don't have the lollipop Gams, buffalo wings anymore, sad, they were really good. So we started with soup. French Onion very good. 4/5 An emulsion soup special that was really good. 5/5 I had the Hammer and Sows, grass fed Elk Loin, so tender and good, Gorgonzola, mushrooms, Alfredo with Fresh Fettuccine. 5/5 My wife had an appetizer special with dates and a special spread with cheese. Wish I'd kept the official description of it, but it was really good. See pics. Service is always top notch.

Cool vibes and decor! We came here for brunch but wished we could go at night. The chicken and waffles was good. Waffle had a unique flavor. We still think about it and crave it. Shrimp and grits was standard.

Add some magic to your evening with a visit to Prohibition. This iconic speakeasy may be a ways outside the city bar scene, but its charm and whimsy makes up for it. Upon entry, you'll discover antique relics and jewelry for purchase as you're greeted by the host. I don't want to spoil the surprise for you, but you'll then be guided through a secret door to the bar area, which is lively and bursting with energy! There's live music and entertainment, such as burlesque and jam bands. For dinner, I ordered a dirty martini and it was perfect, which is a rarity around these parts, and the Alfred "O" ravioli. Everything the table ordered was brought out in a timely manner and we devoured each dish in under 10 minutes.

Prohibition nails the whole vintage lounge experience. You walk in thinking it's one thing, and then suddenly you're surrounded by moody lighting, plush décor, and a vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped into a 1920s hideout--but with much better cocktails. The walls are lined with old-school mobster photos, adding just the right touch of gangster glam without going full theme park. We popped in before a show, just looking for some appetizers and drinks to set the mood. We were greeted immediately and offered a lounge seat, but chose to sit at the bar. Sometimes, the best entertainment is watching the bartenders work their magic--and they didn't disappoint. Friendly, quick to welcome us, and clearly pros at their craft. I ordered the Winter Mist wine flight, because why not have a little tasting adventure? My other half went for a Rhône red blend. We shared a few appetizers: lamb street tacos, venison bruschetta, and French onion soup with a cheese pull worthy of slow-motion video. Everything tasted great--unique flavors, well-executed, and fun to share. As for the wine flight... none of them were quite my thing. I wouldn't order any by the glass, but the tasting experience itself was still a good time. I'm a wine nerd, so it was fun to compare notes--even if my notes were mostly "nope." We stayed for about an hour, had great conversation (with each other and the bartender), and felt totally recharged and ready for our evening plans. I've been here before for dinner and even caught a burlesque show or two--never had a bad time. Bottom line: Perfect for cocktails, small plates, and a little pre-show glam. The mobster portraits may be watching, but they approve. Definitely worth a stop.

There's a dress code isn't there? The main Prohibition Web Site doesn't mention anything about it. What is the dress code?

Nope, I've gone in jeans and a sweatshirt. You are welcome to dress up if you want but usually it's just the staff.

Hey Troy, you are correct, we do not have sugar free red bull. I will see what we can do about this, if there is demand for it. Will ask bartenders and will get back to you in a couple of days. Thank you
