Slackwater is a lively, upbeat pizza restaurant with a great beer selection, great atmosphere and great food. My family stayed down the street at the HGI in Sandy for 5 nights for my son's soccer tournament and we visited Slackwater 3 times. Pro tip: join the waitlist on Yelp! Even during the week, the wait was 30+ mins each time. Food was great. We tried a lot of different pizzas - we got the Chicken Bro-Do, Hot Honey DP, Tikka Masala, Taco Camarones and Margherita. The airy artisan crust is the same on all pizzas and is delicious. I would recommend them all outside of the Camarones which felt a bit underwhelming as there was very little shrimp and flavor was flat. The Citrus Morita dry rub wings are incredible. We ordered these every night. The Morita chile sauce I would throw on everything. Super fresh and flavorful. It had the right amount of heat . The breadsticks are really good. Same bread that they use for the pizza and stuffed with a ton of cheese. Marinara sauce that comes with it is top notch. The Diablo sticks are spicy just to be spicy. The sauce isn't good. We switched to regular marinara. Would recommend staying away from these. Service is great. Everyone is very attentive. The staff definitely give off a chill energy but are focused, alert and friendly. This place is a must if you're in the area. Hope we can make it back someday. read more

No 9 on the list of best restaurants in the USA according to Yelp! My local friend raves about it. It was packed when I went in to pick up my order...all very positive signs and the expectations were high. I got the monthly special pizza..."Spring Fling" which was great. The crust was a little sweet as well which was unique. The Caesar salad was not that good and a little listless. Service was very disappointing sadly. From the time I placed the order on the phone to when I picked up the food, the staff was curt and dour. Not sure if that's their shtick but it was not for me. They did not giver me napkins or a fork so had to go back and ask for it which I did...nicely. They gave it to me with zero words and with a grumpy look like I was bothering them. Been a while since I left a review. Besides their endless beers, nothing has changed! Parking lot is huge but this place is ALWAYS busy!! Thursday night we had a 25-40 min wait for 2, but they check you in w text so you can hang at the bar etc. and it went by so fast we didn't even have time to pick a beer at the bar haha before our table was ready. I haven't had a bad pizza here yet either! And I love the size cause it's not too much pizza but also not too little. Goldilocks pizza I guess love love love! I've been to this location a few times now, most recently after going to an aerial class with my Yelp fam. I first went to the location in Ogden before it moved down to Salt Lake County. I love the unique flavor combinations of pizzas. I also love that they have GF and vegan options as well. Our service this past Wednesday was great! We were seated pretty quickly, even on a somewhat busy evening. Our server was attentive and patient with us. He definitely took care of us that night. All of the pizzas we got were delicious! The wings at Slackwater were great too (my husband always gets wings if they're on the menu, and these did not disappoint)! They also carried Shades Brewing sours, which we were excited about. We decided to come to Slackwater after our wedding day and they were incredible to us! We got sat immediately, our server Emma was so incredibly sweet and so on top of it. She mentioned to us that she had just been sat a 50 top, but she still had the food out to us so fast. She also gave us some free beignets and when the check came out she told us that Slackwater had actually covered our bill. We come to Slackwater all of the time for date night, but we are amazed every single time we come back. We came with a group of six on a Wednesday evening and only waited around 15 minutes, which was nice. Our waitress was wonderful, super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the California Sunrise and liked it. My husband enjoyed his Iron Horse pizza, and everyone else seemed happy with their meals. However, we specifically chose this spot because they offer gluten-free options, and two of our friends are gluten-free, including one with serious celiac disease. Unfortunately, he got sick about an hour later, likely from cross-contamination. It was really disappointing and potentially dangerous for someone with severe celiac, so just something to be aware of if that applies to you. I really hope the restaurant takes better precautions in the future. read more

Found thru Apple Maps and after looking at the menu, decided to try for myself. The flavors here are so good! I ordered the pumpkin gochujang wings which were a good combo of sweet and salty. I kinda wish all the wings were consistent in size (a couple of mine were puny) but its fine for the price IMO. PIZZA: I went for the Italian Job and per my bartenders rec, added feta (JUST DO IT). I was in the area for work and learned just how busy and popular this place is! Granted we had a large party (they looked like they accommodated a lot of large parties), but even with how busy it was we only had to wait about 15 minutes on a Wednesday. They have a lot of great beer and cider options, either on top or bottled. I noticed they even had one of my local favorites from where I live back in the California, the Cali Squeeze! But I had to try something new so I got a tasty cucumber cider. This place definitely has to be known for its pizzas, as the entire back side of the menu has at least 20+ different pizza combos. But if those aren't enough to choose form, you can also make your own! I was having a hard time choosing but ultimately went with the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. What a popular place to visit!! We walked in around 5pm on a Monday night and stood in line to get seated. We were able to get seated right away outside which we didn't mind as it was in the shade and under an umbrella. Sometimes Utah in July can get a bit toasty! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet to walk over the most popular menu items with us. The Check Your Garlic Breath was incredible!! They over served the amount of Gorgonzola cream cheese as we had a TON left over - we should have asked for more of that delicious house made toasted focaccia. The pizza was incredible. Their dough has this hint of sweetness to it that makes you want to keep going in for more! I have never had avocado on a pizza, and now I don't want pizza any other way. Best pizza spot in SLC! This is my husband and my go-to date night spot. We love the Hot Honey DP and the You'll be stuffed Sticks and always order both! Slackwater also has a great selection of local beers, ciders, and sours which we are a big fan of. Whenever anyone comes to visit me in SLC, I take them to Slackwater. The vibe is so fun and sometimes they have live music which is one of my favorite things. I've always had great experience with service here as well. Slackwater has a cult following for a reason. Every location I've been to is constantly packed! These guys have mastered amazing food, and always provide the best customer service. Anytime our family from out of state is visiting for the holidays, they demand we eat at Slackwater at least once. My favorite pizzas were the California sunrise and a birria pizza. The one thing that was frustrating is they were out of gluten free crust for my mom. It took them 20 minutes to come back and tell us this and so then her only option was a salad. We had picked Slackwater so that she could enjoy pizza with us so that was disappointing. Overall it was wonderful and we will be back. I'm docking a star because our server was basically nonexistent. Which makes sense because they were absolutely packed. Tons of people. Maybe they were understaffed? Or need more staff in general. The food was all delicious. We got the Cheesy breadsticks with ricotta. Yum! My kids got a cheese pizza. My husband got a calzone and he loved it. The pizza crust specifically was incredible. My pizza had olives, artichoke and feta. I felt it was overly salty. My personal favorite was the hot honey DP - I am such a sucker for that hot honey. The portions were a little small so I'd say 1.5 pizzas is good for two people so get a few flavors to try and take some home for later. When we showed up, there were probably 20 people outside waiting. They were totally slammed on a random Wednesday night. I was super glad we had a reservation. Despite being slammed they provided great service and were attentive all night. Scotty and Cassidy helped us and they were both awesome. The menu is super fun with a lot of unique pizzas. We got the gyro trip and tikkachu and both were amazing. My husband normally doesn't eat his crust and he said he would eat just the crust from slackwater. The vibes inside were super fun and they opened the big windows which made it super fun. They also do monthly specials which I think is fun. We will definitely be back! read more

This was my first time here. I didn't do the best at getting pictures because I was in the moment. I got the honey hot pepperoni and it was delicious. I liked the portion size as well. It was super crowded and I felt that the waiters had to large of areas to properly help each table. Our waiter was nice, but you could tell he was super busy and couldn't give us his full attention.
