From Scratch is a small yet mighty restaurant near the Gallivan Center that offers delicious homemade food. They have a nice, chill atmosphere that is inviting for all ages. My dining partner and I enjoyed a bowl of minestrone soup that paired with the sourdough bread and a side of sweet potato fries. Those fries were ah-mazing! Be sure to request a parking validation for the adjacent parking lot.

Very good. Good ambiance. Casual. Great service. Quinoa bowl was very good. My chair was hard metal so not very comfortable which I thought was a little weird. An attempt at being unique, I guess. I would go back.

Amazing brick oven pizza!! Like I crave this all the time! And their ranch with it is top tier! My friends have gotten their sandwiches and love them. The service also is usually pretty great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of parking! It's hard to find parking, and if it was easier I would be coming more often! But still worth it to come!!!!

The service was really good. The burger was a little dry, and the fries quite greasy. The salad was great, and the beef stroganoff pasta was really great.

I was lucky to receive a gift card promotion from this restaurant. So I decided to stop by for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant itself got pretty busy. The pomegranate lemon drop couldn't have been better. I would say slightly less syrup would make it more digestible. The short rib dish was good. I thought that the meat itself could've been a little more tender. Unfortunately the carrots were just a little too hard to cut with a butter knife. All in all I did enjoy the atmosphere and they validate parking.

My favorite spot in Salt Lake City Everything from scratch. The bread is incredible. It's worth every penny. The biggest surprise was the Brussels sprouts. They really stole the show. Service was awesome and it's a very comfortable space. I love coming here when I'm in town. One tip, call to get reservations. It gets super busy and reservations are limited.

This was my first experience at From Scratch, and it won't be my last! I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this. It was so GOOD. We shared the special a bacon Avocado cheeseburger with fries and a fennel sausage pizza. The burger came out looking like an advertisement burger (the ones that are never real because they look too good, with all of their perfect toppings and layers. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. The bacon was thick, and crisp, lots of thinly layered onion, lettuce tomato and sauce. The bun was soft. The pizza was yummy, the crust was so good it could be eaten plain. There was homemade ranch, and ketchup and it was all so good. I wanted to take a picture of the burger after I took some bites, but it was too good to put it down and go through that!! The service was good, they kept the water refills coming and were really attentive. The restaurant and bathroom were clean and tidy. I can't wait to try more dishes!!!

We were on a trip to Park City/SLC and From Scratch was a 2 minute drive from our hotel. The menu looked good, so we called an Uber and made our way over. I'm glad we took a ride share, because the parking is almost non-existent here. This place's atmosphere is unfortunately one of those cold, sterile, Millennial restaurants with the uncomfortable stool seating and the cement floors. Random artwork, food served on cutting boards, cramped seating, AC blasting. Not really my type of place, but some may enjoy the "aesthetic". The coldness continued over to the staff. The hosts looked borderline annoyed that we were there. Maybe we read too much into it and they just simply were having a bad day, but they were giving us the death glare. Our server Jayce was also very rushed, but to her defense, she was working like a chicken with no head while the manager sat there and enjoyed a drink. The food was okay, nothing special. We started with the Wood-Fired Bread, which was actually pretty dry despite the hype our server gave it. The jams & butters on the side helped a bit, but we wouldn't get it again. Our entrees took 35 minutes to come out after we placed them. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs, and my Mom ordered the Tri-Tip Steak. My Braised Short Rib was a let down. The meat was cold on the inside, and the mashed potatoes were cold as well. My carrots were good but they only gave me 2. My Mom's steak was pretty good and tender, but the mashed potatoes were cold just like mine were. We told our server and they gave us a complimentary dessert, a Tiramisu. It was okay, kind of mushy, but it had a good coffee flavor. I'm giving 2 stars because I think this place has potential, but they need to work on their service and making sure their food is coming out hot. Everything looked better than it tasted.

From the daily specials menu, the Cajun pasta was exceptional.
    John M.

Dropped in for a work lunch and left extremely satisfied. Although the regular menu items were tempting, the Cajun pasta on the daily special menu was definitely the winning selection. The Cajun sauce was delicious but not too spicy, and the dish was packed with shrimp and sausage ... they definitely did not skimp on the ingredients. Our server was pleasant and observant, kept the drinking glasses on the table full, and made sure everyone in our party of five was happy with the entire dining experience. This cozy little place is absolutely worth a try.

If I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars I would. Everything was phenomenal. From the cocktails to the pastrami-topped grass-fed burger on gluten-free bun to the unbelievably amazing flourless lava cake and wonderful waitress. We shared the burger since it's a half-pound and there was no shared plate charge which made it even better. That left room for the dessert, which we're so glad we went for. It's probably a good thing we don't live up here or we'd be broke eating out almost every night. Lol. Knowing that everything is housemade is the cherry on top. We'll definitely be back next time we visit SLC.

    Fredricka S.

While visiting SLC, Utah I found From Scratch on Google and it did not disappoint! This restaurant had a nice cool rustic feel. Our waitress Jayday was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a big good fresh burger then From Scratch is the spot for you! The patty was thick, the bun was buttery and toasted to perfection...the toppings, crisp and fresh! The bacon was extra crispy and added more flavor that elevated each bite! The real cut potatoes was the perfect sidekick especially dipped in their homemade ketch-up! I took off a star because the burger was cooked well done so it wasn't as juicy as I like as I'm a medium well girl! Definitely a must try for any burger lover! Oh, and they validate parking which is a plus!!

But you can enjoy some gelato in the lobby area while awaiting your table. We decided to split a pizza and a salad which was the perfect dinner portion for two people. Our pizza choice was the Pizza Pere e Jalapeno and Panzanella salad. The portions were nice and the salad was fresh with arugula, tomato, red onion and prosciutto crisps and red wine vinaigrette. The flavors should have popped but frankly we thought the taste of this salad was a little bit bland. Our pizza we did enjoy. It had a jalapeno marmalade with pear and salami and red onion. Very simple ingredients but nice flavor combinations. Parking is challenging in this area. There are many other restaurants in this block and most of the street parking is pay per use to plan ahead for a little bit of a walk after you park.

Also, bottled water is free. They also have lots of Jarritos flavors. The menu is interesting even if you're like me and don't get the Pulp Fiction references. The crust is solidly above average, the toppings are high-quality, and I loved the hot honey. Better Call Saul was playing, there's an arcade game, and lots of stuff to look at on the walls. I found them right here on Yelp...the reviews were strong and the pictures of the pizza enticed me. I checked to make sure they offered Coke before making the trek and wasn't disappointed...cold and in a glass bottle! I went with the 12" Honey Bunny...pizza is t typically referred to as finger licking good, but when it's drizzled with honey that's the best words to describe the experience. Pulling up, I almost thought I was going into the wrong place and from the street I wasn't sure they had done in. Stepping inside, it's not the largest pizzeria, but it has everything you need...some seating, a soft drink refrigerator, a cash register and a few arcade games that are free to play. Don't get to into the games though because Victor's doesn't fool around, my pizza was delivered to my table in under 10 minutes along complimentary water bottles (as many as you like)! The pizza was awesome...you know it's great when the pepperoni gets those crisp edges...not many places can achieve that and damn is it good with the touch of honey drizzled over it. The cheese was perfect...not too little and not too much...like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, it was just right! They came out and checked on me a few times to make sure I had everything I needed...friendly people all the way around. Salt Lake must be filled with nice people because I met a few people while I was at Victor's, they were first timers too and were there on a strong recommendation from a friend. That's when you know the pizza is not just good, but legendary...word of mouth advertising is the most valuable! I'm glad I made it over to Victor's Pizza, it was incredible pizza with perfect crust! I love that while I was there I saw them give a pizza from a canceled order to a third party delivery driver...just great people and I like doing business with great people.

I loved it the last time I came and it sounded good again. Let's start off that today is Thursday night and it is packed in here. There's no parking, and there are only 3 regular spots and one handicapped spaces. The neighborhood must really hate this restaurant because the streets surrounding this restaurant are filled with cars. We ordered the Importance of Fried Cheese (mozzarella cheese). It was lightly coated and seasoned. However, we found that it needed a touch more salt. Then there's the sauce. The house marinara is to die for. The spices of onions garlic, oregano, and other spices blended well with the chunks of tomatoes turning this mixture into a heavenly dip. I ordered the Sausage King of Chicago with mushrooms. I love this crust! It is light and airy and maintains crunchy. It is so filling that I could only eat two pieces. More leftovers!!! My only complain is that they only put drops of that heavenly marinara sauce on each slice. Next time I will ask for them to put extra sauce on my pizza. My wife ordered a keto pepperoni and olive pizza. Her crust was made out of sausages. She loved it! We all had the pizzas we wanted and had yummy leftovers.
