I used to really like King Kebab. But w/the new ownership, the gyros and fries aren't as good as they used to be. I've tried a couple of times hoping for a different experience, but gyro meat has been cold, not tender, and the fat congealed. The pita also has not been hot, light, or fluffy, but cold, a little hard, and bleh. The fries have been room temp. Instead of hot and crispy. The service is still great. But food quality has gone down from when the Asian lady owned King Kebab. I submit this review in hopes of helping the ownership now reclaim the better food quality KK used to have. It would be an understatement to say that very few restaurants meet the robust standards of Middle Eastern cuisine, especially Shawarma, which has so many regional variations from the Caucasus in Armenia all the way to Lebanon and Dagestan and even Greece. Service is friendly, the ambiance is meh...it's in a food court of a small rundown mall. Food wise well I have been spoiled in Texas where there alot of mediterranean, Greek, Middle East Food establishments. King Kabob I was dis appointed with for lack of real authenticity. The falafel's were very dry, the Gyros was meh... by that I mean the meat did not have the spices that I am used to. The Taziki sauce was not good it was mostly all yogurt and no flavor. Love king kebab. We love the Mediterranean street fries with added meat, but also love the shawarmas and pitas. And the regular fries are also solid with nicely flavored/seasoned fry sauce. And they are always so friendly and make everything fresh to order. Definitely worth a trip. read more

I went to King Kebab because of the reviews and LOVED IT! I had the beef/lamb pita with fries and drink. The pita was full and very tasty. I absolutely loved the fries and fry sauce. Very impressed with King Kebab! The service was good - mom and young son were working. The young boy was very helpful and so kind! The lady was sweet too. The service could've been a little faster but it was kind of busy. I ordered the lamb and beef gyro and it was very tasty. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. All of the ingredients on the gyro were fresh and flavorful. I love the fact that they put mixed spring greens, banana peppers, tomatoes, and pickles. The tzatziki sauce was also very yummy. I got the spicy sauce on the side which I'm glad I did because it was spicy but it is good for anyone who likes spicy sauces. I personally think that the gyro doesn't need the spicy sauce. I truly hope that this place can stay in business or move to a better location. I was glad to see that there were a lot of other customers ordering their food. It's nice to have this option in Utah county given the fact there's not many places like it. With it being in the mall where there's hardly any one shopping, I do hope that they can make it. Our coworker told us about this place and we thanked him immensely. Between both of us, we split a chicken Schwarma, Greek fries and a gyro and we couldn't pick a favorite. They were a little busy during lunch, but not overly so. I assume word is spreading and they will get even busier soon. It was by far and away the most popular spot in the mall. The fries got a little soggy, so I suggest getting the sauce on the side, and personally would go for the gyro again if we go back. read more

Had I known this place was on the second floor of a shopping mall, in a freaking food court, I never would have driven here. The ratings were so good, though, I had to see what the hype was about. They were empty at noon on Monday but still ordered. The gal behind the counter was as sweet as could be. Maybe the owner? Very helpful and friendly. I was in the mood for a Mediterranean salad and I added chicken shawarma. The pickles and peppers and sauces were all wonderful. Not a ton of chicken but the salad was very, very good. Finally visited this dining place, in a food court no less. Got the lamb and beef shawarma. Yummy for a food court, this is the kind of place I often stopped for a snack when I wasin London, except they were mostly gyros. I might mention that if you order, tell them to go heavier on the tzatziki, it was a bit dry. The lamb was toned down a bit, I would have preferred a more lamb in the beef. The potatoes they used was french fries and not the traditional cooked potatoes I am accustomed to, different, because I am more familiar with potato chunks and not french fries. I'm pretty darn glad I finally was able to try this place, it was on the long lists of places I wanted to try here in Provo. read more

First off, this place is in the food court of the Provo Town Centre mall, but please do not let that dissuade you! I've visited the mall countless times just to eat at King Kebab. And let me tell you... So, SO delicious! They specialize in shawarma and gyros, with some other tasty modified options like loaded street fries and Greek sweets. The shawarma with lamb and beef is my personal favourite, but everything I've tried has been delectable! The standard shawarma comes with your choice of protein (with falafel as an option for vegetarians!) alongside an assortment of tasty toppings! Usually it comes with pickles, peppers, roast potatoes, onion, tomato, cucumber sauce, and a house spicy sauce, but they're always willing to modify it to your liking! I generally get mine with everything but the pickles, but even with every topping it still tastes divine. There are so many flavours going on at once, and they all complement each other wonderfully! It's moderately priced (usually around $8 for the shawarma or gyro on its own) and you can upgrade your main dish to a meal with fries and a drink for a couple extra bucks! Hands-down the best option in the food court, and honestly the best wrap I've had in Provo. Oh, and the service is excellent. The lady who I've seen working every time I've eaten there is always incredibly accommodating and kind! Please come and check out this restaurant if you have the chance! They're never very crowded, especially on weekdays, and they deserve a lot of credit for the high-quality and delicious food they have brought to Provo. read more

I only had about 15 minutes before a movie at the nearby Cinemark when I stopped here. My expectations for food court food were so low and I was in such a hurry that I didn't even take any pictures. However I was incredibly surprised! The food was awesome! My wife had a chicken gyro and I had beef and lamb schwarma. Both were incredible! They had plenty of fresh vegetables and the meat was high quality. I felt great after eating here - no typical energy slump that I often get if I resort to fast food. King Kebab is absolutely delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Honestly I'm only able to talk about the Schawarma because that's all I ever get because I'm obsessed. The lamb and beef shawarma is incredible. The meat is deliciously seasoned, such incredible flavor. They put potatoes (fries) on it which gives it a lovely flavor and texture. The tzatziki sauce is absolutely delicious. I always get extra. The owner is one of the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet. One time when we were eating she brought out a plate of orange slices for my young son. He was so excited. I wish I could tell you about the rest of the food but if it's anything like the Schawarma I'm sure it's delicious. I'm not sure why people are rating it lower for it being in a food court. King Kabob, like its neighbor Panpaya, bucks the food court stereotype. Their menu is focused on fresh veggies and lean protein. They have a solid offering for vegan, gluten free, and dairy free diners. And their dessert menu features delicacies like house made (!) chocolates, locally made Baklava, and Turkish Delight imported from Turkey. I've unfairly dinged KK for being located in the mall, but you know, I'm kind of glad they are. The friendly service and personal consideration they offer are an oasis.
