The coffee and food is just like any other Starbucks. The layout of the tables is good and I love that they have plenty of outlets everywhere. They need to work on their customer service. Since they are located in a small town, I just wish they had that small town feel/service to them (even though they are a chain business). Best Starbucks location ever. Drive-through window available (gets busy and can spill over into narrow parking lot, but usually moves fast). Some outdoor seating on front patio. Really good seating options inside since the remodel (very long bench seat under window, also long table, a few round tables, and plenty of chairs). This is really the place people go to have meetings, study, or hang out. 98% of staff are very friendly & true professionals. I avoid this Starbucks at all cost. If there is even one car in front of you, expect a long wait time. Last time I was here was last October and I ordered a pumpkin spice latte. It was disgusting! It was made completely wrong. I had to find a parking spot and go in and have it remade. The lady that helped me told me she made it herself and it was correct. I asked her to taste it and she declined. I finally was able to get a new latte after demanding to talk to the manager. I go to the Starbucks by Safeway, and even with a drive though full of cars,it's quick and the orders are made correctly. Bottom line, if you're on a time schedule, don't go to this place. Definitely a great pit stop for a small warm snack and/or coffee before getting back on the road and heading the rest of the way to Tahoe. If you need to make a quick visit to the bathroom, it's nice, clean, and comes equipped with a changing station (at least in the ladies). This location has more spacious seating than most other Starbucks I've been to which is a plus. But, if you just want to grab n go, there's a drive thru for you. :) read more

Came in here twice one weekend, once on the way up to Tahoe and then again on the way back. Both times I got the same lady taking my order. First time I had to walk back over and ask for more pumps of chai in my drink cause the barista couldn't read her writing which totally looked like a 4 instead of a 9 like I asked for. I couldn't blame the barista I mean it looked like a 4 for sure. So when I came back the second time I got the same lady so I really made sure she heard 9 pumps and she did and she clearly wrote it like a 4! When the guy was making it I watched and he only put in 4 and I got his attention and he said oh it says 4 and I said I know it looks like that huh? but its supposed to be 9 thats the way she writes. So he was happy to add more and I am glad I was on the alert and didn't have to walk all the way back to fix my drink like before. When they get backed up they are pretty slow here and with the drive thru here if you are inside you aren't served as fast I don't think. But if you are ordering anything with 9 pumps of something beware you'll only get 4 LOL I know this since it has happened twice! Glad I didn't use the drive thru I would have been really upset if I wouldn't have been able to fix my drink and been up the road too far before I tried it. Its sorta conveniently located on the way up to Tahoe and a nice pit stop for a bathroom etc but be careful to fast your drinks before you leave the drive thru lane or the lobby. read more

I am pretty astonished of how horrible my whole experience here was. I literally STILL have no words. Placerville is a small town so this Starbucks was the only one they had in town. Personally, I prefer Starbucks over the other coffee places because the drink are typically always consistent. So, as this may be the only location the drive thru was horrendous. I waited 20 mins to get my drink. I always order a venti iced latte: half vanilla half hazelnut and an additional espresso shot. Pretty simple. The person that took my order was friendly. It was the person at the window who took this experience and flushed it down the toilet. I get up to the window and this guy comes out and says, "sup?" So I reply, "ughhhh I ordered a drink?" He said oh yea. I need money from you. So I hand him my card and he disappears for another 5 mins before giving my card back, then a few mins later, my drink. He shoved my drink at me and rolled his eyes and sighed when he accidentally dropped my straw. His behavior screamed, "I hate my job." And probably "my life." He was rude. Plain and simple. If my drink had just been made there would still be ice. The ice melted and my drink tasted gross. Not like the other drinks I've gotten at other Starbucks locations. I didn't finish my drink and I won't be back. I'll try my luck at one of the mom and pop places down the road. read more

This Starbucks was very rude. When I tasted my coffee it was not as it usually was. I asked if I could pay for an extra shot in it and the barista told me I would have to get back in line. The line was ridiculously long. So I walked away with a drink that was not correct. read more

I love Starbucks. I am a gold member and go at least once a day. I sometimes go twice. Once for coffee and once for tea. Recently the placerville Starbucks has had horrible service. The employees are rude and secondly my drink is never right. I get simple drinks and they can't seem to make them right. I get an unsweetened black tea, a very simple drink to make. Tea water and ice... well somehow I always get green tea. I just don't understand the issue. I hope something chances soon. For now I have moved my business to cuppa coffee on main street. I have been here a few times recently. I dont go out for coffee a whole lot. With that being said my drinks were okay and the staff were nice. The atmosphere is not what Ibwas hoping for to get some work done. The music was really loud and I couldn't hear my own tunes in my head phones. Every single table had drink spills and crumbs on them. The floor was filthy with garbage and spills. Surprisingly, the bathroom wasn't as gross as I was expecting it although still not as clean as a public bathroom should be in my opinion. As I sat waiting for my drink I noticed the staff on their phones and chatting with each other. Yeah sure that happens this day and age. BUT AFTER you clean this filthy store up. Honestly if this were my business I'd do a complete re-training on what is expected. I left after about 10 minutes and sat outside. All was good until I smelt ciggs. Turn around and 3 homeless people were blowing smoke my way while one nodded out. Its not necessarily Starbucks fault. I felt bad for them. Killed my vibe though. read more

Any starbucks you go to, you'll get almost the same type of drinks. However, most of the time the service is what makes up the service. I have never been to a starbucks with such horrible cashiers. Not only were they not friendly, they just threw my pumpkin spice latte on the counter. Gave me dirty looks from the moment i got there. Went through the drive thru here on the way down from the mountains. They were very fast with my family's large and complicated order-we got all the drinks almost immediately! Very unhappy with their service, I ordered 2 coffees and stood there for 15 waiting for my order, as others who ordered after me were getting their coffees, I finally said something and the gal just gave me a look like I was bothering her. This Starbucks has unique challenges being a stopover between the bay area and Lake Tahoe. It can be crazy busy or dead quiet at the drop of a hat. I had several issues that occurred over the course of multiple visits and decided to call the manager directly. She was receptive, understood my concerns, and expressed her perspective for areas the company and her location are trying to address. I never expect perfection but when there are issues, management and their approach to the customer is solid. read more

Got my flat white...the best I can say. The place was filthy at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. There were no shakers of cocoa, nutmeg or vanilla as well as just an empty and dirty 'stirrer' container. I asked about the cocoa and was told that the truck has not come in with their delivery. They made my husband's carmel latte cold rather than the ordered hot beverage and took their time correcting. I live in Tahoe and make the 50 drive frequently....but I will not be going in to this poorly run establishment. read more
