This is a really cute coffee shop that we tried on our way to Tahoe. It was very tasty coffee and we will definitely go back again.

I come here every day before work. They have the sweetest girls working here that always set an amazing mood for the rest of my day!

11/18/2022: The coffee tasted watered down, burnt, severely tired . . . Sadly, it just tasted like old, "military boot" coffee, i.e., the coffee wasn't fresh either. FYI: I bought coffee at 1:00 PM; there's no excuse not making a new batch of coffee. Dutch Brothers makes FRESH, French Press coffee for EVERY customer-just look at the times I bought coffee from Dutch Brothers via my photos! Unfortunately, I really thought I would become a frequent customer, since Bean Barn is literally down the street from my house; however, I'm reticent spending money on old, "military boot" coffee: Believe me when I state the coffee tastes like tired, old, "military boot" coffee because I served in the USAF; I KNOW WHEN COFFEE JUST SUCKS!!!! The coffee served tasted as PERCOLATED and not made using a French Press; ironically, Jack In The Box makes better coffee than Bean Barn! Therefore, I will adamantly refuse returning to Bean Barn purchasing anything! BTW: I threw the coffee down my kitchen drain after drinking a couple of sips; you can't doctor coffee that literally tastes like pond scum~YUK!!!!! read more

Bean barn has the BEST coffee drinks of anywhere in the entire county. I would even go so far as to say it's the best in the entire state. They have a great menu with flavor options for just about any and every craving and preference imaginable. They also rotate seasonal flavors, so be sure stop by and check those out! The staff is also always incredibly friendly. Possibly one of my most favorite things about them too is that they keep a gift card on hand for first responders and law enforcement. Had a weird interaction here about a week ago. Pulled in and there was a diamond plated work truck which was turned off, wheels cocked towards the neighboring building (away from the direction of the line) and - by all indications - any sensible person would obviously think it was parked, unattended and not in line. But as I pulled in I realized the car in front of it was in a position which made me wonder if the truck was indeed in line. So I stopped short, maybe a quarter ways up next to the truck where I was trying to figure out what's going on. As I sat there one of the young girls stomped out towards me with a very bitchy death stare, very aggressively and chirped, "Are you in front of the car behind you?!" I'm like.. "Uhhh, what? Yes?" She's begins berating me about how the line is supposed to snake around in some weird fashion in front of the other buildings. There are no signs indicating this or anything, how the hell am I supposed to know this?! It was a very innocent and what should've been a very understandable situation. She's almost yelling at me about it. I explain sorry I just pulled in and--look at this truck, how was supposed to know it's in line???? It totally looks parked! I should've turned around and left. The line moves, truck fires up and, naturally, it was there before me so I waited as it pulled up. As it does I notice a young girl (about the same age) driving it and I put 2 and 2 together: Seems like chick in the truck texted her friend working there apparently accusing me of trying to cut in line or something...?! Each time the truck stopped, she'd turn it off, put on the brake, etc. Truck girl and coffee girl ham it up, take their sweet time, all but confirming my suspicions. Finally I get to the window expecting some kind of apology, or at least a friendly greeting. No. Very short--what do you want? I try to smooth it over explaining hey I had no idea, I wasn't trying to cut or something... (wtf?) No apology, not the slightest hint of friendlyness. Whatever. I'll get better coffee elsewhere in the future. Wasn't a fan of the "white supremacy in disguise" blue line stickers anyways. A "good ol boys coffee hut" I guess. In response to owner: I came in from the opposite direction. And for the record, I also support law enforcement. However - just like they hold us accountable - they should be held to at least the same standards. "Blue lives matter" BS was created in response to outcries by the black community for this not existing. Sporting those flags says "F black people", not "we support police." But pretend all you need. I'm sure you're already well aware of this since you didn't comment on the white supremacy part. read more

I have been passing this area a lot more recently & I would always notice that there would be a huge line. I drove by today & noticed that there was only 3 cars so I figured I would give it a try. I thought the price for an Medium Blended Oreo Mocha was fair but I did not realize that a medium is huge! Recently, I went back to my local bean barn off Missouri Flat Road and I was confronted with the same attitude that stopped me from going here before, as soon as I pulled up to pay at the window. The same girl with dark brown hair gave me attitude from the second i pulled up and was rude to me until I pulled away. The blonde girl making my drink had terrible customer service. I have been coming to bean barn for a good 7 years now. I live the chai. But more recently, i have been getting an iced toffee coffee woth almond milk.....i die a little every time i drink it. So amazing!!!! My boyfriend is hooked on the red bull twist. He has paired almost every flavor with kiwi and has loved all of them. We go every tuesday and wednesday (our days off). We cant start our days without. We need one in cameron park! I work for. Major coffee chain. This is my secret place away from work! I am in love! I support this local business who employee's young people (high school seniors) and keep the $$$ local Bean Barn coffee is fresh with lot of flavors and varieties and is better than the big chain company. customer service is excellent. All the barista are nice and friendly. Maybe they should add some food varieties. Toffee coffeee with soy milk is my favorite. The large is pretty great , the only downside is it's probably not real fruit there smoothies are super sweet and taste like pure sugar . Also the girls wear crop tops in there , not very work appropriate. Great little shack but maybe the wrong type of workers in there , wait in line was long .. My boyfriend really loves this place. I think I would like it more of the coffee wasn't so darn sweet. It's more like a dessert and I feel like I may go into a diabetic coma! Underneath all of the syrups and sugar, I can tell that the coffee is really good. I typically add another shot to my drink so I can taste it more. Next time I'll ask if they can make it less sweet. Every time I've gone, the baristas have always been very sweet. This particular day, I grabbed two muffins (one banana and one blueberry) for my kids because we were headed back to Reno and on a time crunch. (Needed a quick breakfast!) I took little nibbles of both muffins. They were REALLY good. My favorite was the banana. They offer a wide variety of iced, blended, hot, and smoothie drinks. I can't say I'm a fan of this place now. I was so excited to get a hot cup of coffee on this frigid day so when I pulled in behind a slate gray car I was willing to wait. After about 3 minutes of waiting I realized this girl wasn't even ordering coffee. She and the employee of the bean barn were sitting there chatting and laughing. I get it. Its fun to visit your friends at their place of employment to say "hi", but you are damn sure I step out of the way so they can assist the next customer if I myself am not one. Not only did the girl acknowledge me, but she continued to check in her mirror that I was still there. Finally after 5 minutes, realizing I wasn't going to be helped in any sort of timely fashion, I backed my car up and left, disappointed, angry and coffeeless. Don't waste your time. Good coffee, nice staff but very inconsistent with pastries and breakfast items. Also, the quality of the breakfast items is poor. They are Costco muffins (often more than a day old) and very little variety. They have bagels, but they are just the store bought cheap ones. I have let the staff know this repeatedly, and they have spoken with the owner, but I have heard she is not very receptive to customers requests. I like this place. Its small business which is better than chain coffee and I know my money supports a local person and not a corporation. I order the "screamer" for my breakfast to start the day a few days a week when i'm starving. Its good enough and gives me energy; although im skeptical about its reports of being healthy. Coffee is okay, although I prefer Peet's or Starbucks for the same price. What I don't like is that they are charging more for almond milk than they advertise on their price charts. You don't realize it until they tell you the amount at the window. When I asked why the drink was more than I calculated, the girl said it was because the almond milk was more than what is posted on the signs. Nice. That's called false advertising. I may try this place one more time and see if they charge me the posted amount for almond milk (which is already almost a dollar extra than regular milk). If they overcharge me, I won't go back after that and may report them. I'm not sure if the girl working the cash register pocketed that money or if the price truly went up by the owner. read more
