Always amazing quality frozen yogurt . The toppings are many but the fall flat compared to other frozen yogurt places . I got the cake batter and had a hard time believing it wasn't actual cake batter. So yummy!! I also wanted to mention how excellent the customer service was. My husband and I stopped by after dinner, about 20 minutes before they closed. And the worker was so kind and friendly even making small talk with us. Even though I'm sure he was ready to go home lol. There were a couple other cars that also pulled up after us so we didn't feel too bad. Did I mention how clean and sanitary everything was? I liked how it didn't have that overpowering cleaning smell some places have. It just felt organized and clean. You get your frozen yogurt, then your toppings and then pay. It has a good flow of direction. They had all the toppings you would expect and even some extra fun sauces I don't normally see like a strawberry syrup, a raspberry syrup, marshmallow sauce, and white chocolate sauce. And of course a variety of chocolate sauces and syrups. I loved the charm and overall vibe of the shop. It has like a museum/family friendly feel to it. I loved all the trains! This will definitely be a fun sweet treat for us whenever we're on Main Street. This is exactly what Main Street needed!! Congratulations to these small businesses owners. An unassuming roadside soft serve spot of my dreams. So... I live in the boonies and don't get out much. Like literally was living in town for 3+ years before I found this place that I had been staring at nearly every time I drove through town. DOH! What I appreciate about this place is the regular flavor changes, the easy to manage toppings bar and what I feel is a pretty reasonable price for frozen goodness. There's a few tables indoors to sit at and it's pretty cozy overall. And there is never a wait... Saw one woman get the super-jumbo-sugarcoma-size soft serve all for herself. She looked like she had a hard day and was avoiding the kids at home. I give her props for finishing that off without a brain freeze. Far stronger than I. ...and on a side note, I hope it gave her the energy to smack on a smile when she got home. #SelfCare #MomTime Extra bonus points... this place is even open past the normal soft serve crowd hours... so I'm even able to get myself a cool-cup with sprinkles after dark. This place is absolutely garbage! The country vanilla tasted like donkey kong banana, and the mint was very bland. All of the frozen yogurt was runny like a lava hot turd exiting the anus. This place gets 1 star for the trains. They were cool. read more

I really want to love this place but it's just ok. The yogurt is decent but the toppings are kinda pathetic. The toppings are messy and not well kept. There are remnants of the toppings in other toppings and for the price I feel it needs to be cleaner and less suspicious looking. I feel that more topping options and fresh clean spoons for scooping would go a long way! It's not too much to ask. They violate health code by allowing (not service) dogs in. This disgusting as well as against the law. When I was there this afternoon, two guests were inside while I was waiting my turn to enter - they had a fluffy dog and were petting it while serving themselves their fro-yo. I could see dog hair flying off of it as they pet it. Won't ever be coming back here again. Don't like dog hair as a topping on my yogurt. read more

Stopped by the yogurt shop after the annual Christmas tree lightning on Main Street. The yogurt was not good and the toppings were even worse. They were so stale it was like they had been out for weeks. We asked the worker for a refund and he called the owners. The owners said no but we could get more stale yogurt. Definitely will not be back to support this place. read more

Updated review from two year ago when we loved this place. Disappointed with your customer service tonight! We won't be back anymore. We asked for a refill of the peanut butter bottle and Eli made it seem as if we were bothering him asking for it to be filed up. Hot fudge topping was cold and wouldn't come out. Then after we paid Eli tried handing us the peanut butter bottle and said can you put this back where you found it. What?!? Your poor attitude Eli lost my family want to come back here. This, to my knowledge, is the only yogurt shop in Placerville. It's a small shop but has plenty of seating. I've been here a few times and have always been sort of underwhelmed with their selection. They generally have four flavors of yogurt, and very limited toppings compared to other yogurt shops. Last time I was in, they were out of a couple toppings in addition to having limited choices in the first place. Stopped in here late on a Saturday (9:30pm) while driving Tahoe to Sacramento and we were not disappointed! While a lil slow at that time of night, the attendant was kind, helpful, and attentive to all the right degrees. Parched as we were, he kindly refilled our water bottle three times for us without complain. Undecided on flavors, he humored our excited shenanigans. It also happens to be on the changing flavor side, so if you have been waiting for your Irish Mint all week, and you stop by you will be sorely disappointed if the machine starts acting up. 2. I am a member of their frequent buyer club (I have a card, its official) and I have not gotten my free yogurt! We have gone at least 1-2x a week and buy $8-$10 of yogurt each time. It's so nice that they are open until 10, in Placerville. NOTHING is open until 10. 10 pm in this town is like 5 am in New York City.....and it bites. But this little shop is super yummy, and the service is always very friendly. Only one complaint (agree with other reviewer)....if you are gonna do the "hip" yogurt thing...why not serve the Original Tart all the time? Sometimes I stop in and have to leave because the other available flavors taste just like soft serve ice cream, which to me ruins the point of going to fro-yo in the first place. But the tart is SOOOO good. And so is the butter pecan and the pomegranate. read more

Kevin at Whistle Stop is the greatest! We were craving serious soft serve (like the kind you get at foster freeze, dipped in chocolate to boot) so we went to Tom's but they were closed. On a whim, we called Whistle Stop and upon asking, "do you have any ice cream that ISN'T fat-free" we were given the best sales pitch for frozen yogurt ever. By sheer coincidence, we were driving by and decided to stop in and get samples - which of course lead to the real deal. Me: pistachio and cookies/cream, hard shell chocolate, hot fudge, chocolate chips, oreos, raisinettes, gummies AND sprinkles (take that fat-free!). Fun little place in the west end of Placerville. Sparkling clean. Self serve. Choose from 4 kinds of yogurt (and feel free to mix them in the cup or cone) and then add a variety of toppings, fruits, syrups, etc. The charge is by weight. They currently have a pumpkin yogurt - very yummy. read more

I love the frozen yogurt here! I go at least 2 times a week and they have really good flavors and a lot of toppings to add. They always have chocolate and vanilla but they mix up the other two flavors. Sometimes the machines aren't working but they make sure to get them back in service as fast as possible. Great place for an after school hangout. The people always greet you and if you wear Markham wear you get a discount most of the time. read more

We really like this little yogurt shop. Since it's a small place I understand that our selection is limited. We usually find something we can enjoy, so no problem. My only gripe is that my favorite flavor (Cookies & Cream), is not offered more often. All in all, a great place though. Good location, good hours, and clean.
