I popped on into JoJo's bakery after having lunch next door in the same shopping plaza. The bakery recently opened up in this brick n mortar shopfront. The owner baked as a home business previously. Luv that entrepreneur spirit to expand. The bakery was in its soft opening phase. But they did for sure have a variety of cupcakes $2.50 and cookies (jumbo $3 and regular 6 for $5), chocolate covered strawberries, brownies $4 and lemon bars $4. She even sold DIY cookie kits. Everything looked darn yummy and beautifully decorated. I landed on a pumpkin cheesecake cupcake and jumbo chocolate chip cookie. It was wrapped to go. The cookie was on the crisp side. The cupcake was delicious. The cupcake had all the fall flavors in a moist dense cake. It didn't fall apart after first bite. The frosting was a perfect consistency, not runny or hard. Also not overly sweet. Ohhh that cupcake was heavenly. Still thinking about it. The owner/baker takes custom orders including cakes which seem to be her specialty. I suggest you look at her IG @jojosbakery90 and her Facebook JoJo's Bakery for photos and customer comments. The cakes are impressively decorated. Gorgeous. And she has a sense of whimsy. The owner is a local that participates her baking talent and time to alot of local charity events. #shoplocal #womenownedsmallbusivess

Cupcake was moist and not to sweet, a very nice balance between cake and icing.

The light up fairy crown that everyone receives is a very nice touch to the experience! I ordered the salmon ($46), which came on a bed of caramelized mashed potatoes & a side Hobbit salad. The portion of salmon was huge & came out hot & I ate it all! I also ordered an apple dessert crepe ($20) to-go (which surprisingly took a really long time to receive - enough for my friend to eat her own entire crepe) & for what it was, it was just ok.

Enchanted Forest was definitely an experience, though I'm still not sure it was one I enjoyed as…read moremuch as I had hoped. After seeing countless videos on social media, I was excited to finally visit this unique and whimsical-looking restaurant for Mother's Day lunch. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a disappointing start. When making the reservation, I was never informed that the restaurant would only be offering a limited Mother's Day menu. By the time we were seated and learned there were only five menu options available, with no access to the regular brunch menu, it was too late to make alternative plans. Not wanting to spend the holiday scrambling for another restaurant, we decided to stay and make the best of it. For the price, the food was underwhelming. Most of the dishes were mediocre, and my filet was noticeably overcooked. I had specifically been looking forward to trying items from their brunch menu, so finding out it wasn't available was disappointing. The cocktails were visually appealing but overly sweet and lacked balance. Another disappointment was the seating. Despite making reservations in advance, we were not seated in one of the restaurant's signature enchanted booths. To be fair, there are only three of these themed booths in the entire restaurant. The rest of the dining room felt somewhat dated and cluttered with dusty artificial plants. The overall atmosphere didn't quite match the magical experience portrayed online and on social media. The staff did make an effort to celebrate Mother's Day by giving moms elf ears and light-up tiaras, which was a fun touch and added to the theme. In the end, I left feeling disappointed. The concept and marketing create high expectations, but the food, seating experience, and overall value didn't quite live up to the hype. While the restaurant certainly offers a unique theme, my experience fell short of what I was expecting, and I'm not sure I would be motivated to return.

Pecan pie was also great. Highly recommended to stop by while visiting this Historic Gold Rush Town and on your way to Tahoe-Nevada: this place is a must-try and worth it. I was going to update my previous review and can't believe I never wrote a review before. My past experience would had a 5 start review. We loved everything. Today's experience was 4 star (I could do 4.5 if that was an option). The St Louis Ribs are my favorite along with brisket. But I just can't eat that much anymore, so I limited myself to just the ribs. The half rack was 6 big bones. I like my ribs naked so I can taste the rub. Sure enough, them puppies came with no sauce which allowed me enjoy the rub (pretty good but I wanted more) and to try the varying sauces available (Sweet and Spicy being the winner). I found the ribs to be meaty but dry. The expected slip n slide fat feature had been evaporated. The chunky potato salad side was disappointing and the few chucks were close to mashed potato texture and the dressing was too liquid. Hog Wild used to have a smoked Turkey sando which my DW loves. Unfortunately, it has disappeared from the menu and now Chicken is the only poultry option. She reported it to be good but dry. Her Caesar salad though was terrific. Good sized, we both ate it and still couldn't finish it. One minor suggestion. As you have Pepsi products for fountain drinks; adding Pepsi Zero would be a popular thing. Zero is much better than the Diet in our experience.
