So I'm always stoked to find one especially one that is somewhat local to me. Donuts Delight is in the suburbs of Cameron Park. Donuts Delight is a simple delight of donuts...cake, crullers, glazed, twists, jelly filled, turnovers, cinnamon roll donuts, fritters, and hot baked croissants. The donuts are fresh baked in small batches. So the selection and quantity can vary depending on the time of day. Delight is a mom n pop donut shop located in an small nondescript shopping plaza in the suburbs of Cameron Park off Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive. It's not a fancy schmanzy donut shop with an Instagram wall or a gimmick. What they got are fresh baked donuts served by a hardworking family. They have some indoor seating which is nice. It gives me a place to chomp down my donuts other than sitting in my car.

It honestly tasted like day old donuts, a little stale and it did not have that fresh greasy, crispy crunch OR the swirls of apple pie pieces throughout. I don't eat donuts, but I love apple fritters and consider myself a connoisseur. But, they did have a delicious, fresh looking maple bar with what looked like fresh-cooked bacon bits on them. I don't like maple bars, but that looked good. I will have to make sure I go to a tried and true place next time I have a hankering for an apple fritter.

So while sitting in the car waiting for my wife and toddler to use the bathroom, I googled this place, not thinking much of it. Then, I find out that Rocklin Donuts and Cinnamon have made it onto some of the best donut lists in the whole country! So, of course, here I am jumping out of the car and strolling over to see what's left on a Sunday (Mother's Day) afternoon. Unfortunately for me, they were out of there incredible looking cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. The photos from other Yelpers made me jealous. Instead, I got some donut holes and a chocolate croissant. The nice lady had a thick accent, but we got things figured out, and she even threw in some extra donut holes for me. The donut holes were incredible. Absolutely melt in your mouth. Perfection. The chocolate croissant was not flaky or crispy, but had that classic donut shop chewy texture, and of course, was loaded with chocolate. I HAVE to come back for the apple fritter, as that's one of my favorite donuts, and the cinnamon rolls look insane. I will be back!
