Is it just me, but I've noticed as the years pass, the number of good ole fashion neighborhood donut shops are declining. So I'm always stoked to find one especially one that is somewhat local to me. Donuts Delight is in the suburbs of Cameron Park. Donuts Delight is a simple delight of donuts...cake, crullers, glazed, twists, jelly filled, turnovers, cinnamon roll donuts, fritters, and hot baked croissants. The donuts are fresh baked in small batches. So the selection and quantity can vary depending on the time of day. Delight is a mom n pop donut shop located in an small nondescript shopping plaza in the suburbs of Cameron Park off Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive. It's not a fancy schmanzy donut shop with an Instagram wall or a gimmick. What they got are fresh baked donuts served by a hardworking family. They have some indoor seating which is nice. It gives me a place to chomp down my donuts other than sitting in my car. read more

I went at 7:30 on a Wednesday. This is not your fancy bacon maple croughnut place - this is the place your grandpa takes you at 5am to get a sprinkle doughnut. Yes, as others mentioned the selection was limited but like really, a doughnut is a doughnut. The owner appears to bake small batches so he can sell fresh. I saw him pull a couple half-trays out when I came in. He clearly has regular customers, and gave a gentleman his usual choclate doughnut on the house so he didn't have to wait for me to get my dozen box filled. Anyway, once I got my box, I realized the doughnuts were so fresh they were still warm. My coworkers were pleased. read more

What a great donut shop this is! The store signage is very welcoming and attractive! The donuts are fabulous and there's a great selection! The gentleman who works there is so kind and respectful to his patrons. He greets one with a smile and a hello, as you walk in and seems to be so grateful for one's business . When you leave, he says, "Thank you so much for coming in, have a wonderful day and please come back soon! What a great way to do business and keep the clients coming back. You can't go wrong here! I placed an order to pick up the next morning. Everything went smoothly and the donuts are delicious! Highly recommend!

Literally didn't even go in. When we pulled up, the parking lot was empty so we got a nice spot up front. We immediately saw why. Through the window we could see the entire case and there were a total of about four different selections to choose from, including blueberry muffins. At 7:30, there should be some sort of selection and judging by the parking lot, it's not because they sold out. They used to be one of the better donut shops around, but I guess we are going to have to take our business elsewhere now. Hopefully their selection improves soon! read more

I have been coming to this place for the last 6 years. And this morning after work at 6am, expected to get lots of good donut for myself and children. But see picture, it's all they have and was very disappointed and will not coming back. Decided to give another try and stopped by at 545am on Sunday. I've been going to this place for the better part of 10 years. I can't say I've encountered an overdone donut, but I don't order the fritters, which is mostly what people seem to be complaining about. I will agree, there have been times where I've walked through the doors to find them between donut-stock, leaving a limited selection. I understand there are probably challenges associated with keeping donuts stocked that I have yet to experience, but because it does lead to disappointed children from time to time. That said, it's few and far between. I typically roll in on the weekends around 7AM-8AM, 9 times out of 10, I'll get all of the donuts that I need for my small family, and then some. I do find the employee on the phone/bluetooth headphone to be unprofessional, but I mean, com'n, it's clearly a small operation shop. I think hand written signs and some level of loose operations to be expected. Not expecting those things from a small donut shop is just silly. read more

Never any options. I go in when it's empty at 7 am and the only donuts are sprinkles and donut holes. When I asked if he had apple fritters he just shrugged his shoulders and said no. The business opens at 530 am but he's still cooking when I get there at 730 and all the donuts aren't out. Ordered a Boston crème pie and the whole icing slipped off the top in one piece. read more

This place was delicious! I got a dozen doughnut holes and a glazed twist. They were perfectly light, airy, and fresh with a golden brown crust on the outside. I am in love! Not impressed. VERY Limited selection of donuts at 11:00 AM on a Tuesday, $0.50 service charge to run ATM (which didn't work), donut was stale and hard, and an eyelash was found in my maple donut (see picture). I will not be returning. read more

The problem with this donut shop is they don't start cooking any raised donuts till later in the morning. When they first open with the new owner 5:30am they only have old fashion's, and usually that's it. Unfortunately it's still that way. Being my job starts early in the morning we take turns bringing goodies. To me their case should be full of a variety of donuts, bars ext....for a donut shop! I stopped going there for that reason. I now go to Heavenly Donut shop on Cambridge Rd. near Hey 50. They have the best selection ever. read more

I have been here multiple times over the last 15 years. It used to be my families go to donut stop. However we stopped going several years back because every time we would visit, no matter the time, there wasnt hardly anything to choose from. This morning I wanted to give my boys a sweet treat after their normal breakfast since it was the first day of school, my youngest first day of HS. I went in at 6 and all they had were muffins and the cake donuts that have sprinkles. I asked if they had any raised or anything else but the guy just shrugged his shoulders and told me not yet. There was also a handwritten FYI note in their window informing people that the 76 next door was no longer serving their donuts and requested locals to come in to continue to support their business. Very unprofessional and if they want the communities continued support maybe they should have a better variety on a regular basis. read more

I hate it when a great place goes bad. This place used to be a 5-star excellent donut place, with the best apple fritters outside of Apple Hill. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. I went the other day and ordered the apple fritter and chocolate chip muffin, 2 things I've had many times. I didn't recognize the lady behind the counter, but thought nothing of it at the time. Well, when I actually ate the donuts they were certainly not the same. The apple fritter was bland, with a crispy crust of sugar but very little else. The muffin was mostly plain dough with only a few chocolate chips in it. I suspected an ownership change, which was confirmed here on Yelp. Apparently, the recipes were not part of the sale. So, a fantastic donut place now churns out donuts that are no better than a grocery store. Skip this place and you won't miss anything. read more

I'm 37 and I have NEVER had donuts this DELICIOUS my entire life. Being 37, I have tried and experienced many different donut shops throughout all of the Sacramento valley area, even chains and none even come close. I have read a couple bad reviews from other people regarding an ownership change and I would have never known other than the workers had changed. If anything I'd say the donuts got even yummier and a wider variety on the menu. Get there early because they sell out fast. So that must mean they're doing something right. For all the nay Sayers, you should it try it again. "Eyelash" person, it was probably your own that fell onto your donut and people who complain about $.50 card fees, use your heads. Do you have any idea how much Visa, MasterCard, Amex, etc charge the owner per purchase? It's a very large percentage. Yes debit is cheaper but the owner still pays a fee so get over it!!! read more
