9/25/2025: Purchased an apple turnover and lemon-filled custard donut.

9/25/2025: Purchased an apple turnover and lemon-filled custard donut=$5.35 for two deliciously FRESH, specialty-made donuts. Aside, I have sadly tapered consuming donuts due to losing weight, i.e., I was 170-lbs.--now, I weigh 125-lbs.! Moreover, I apologize to Donut Factory for being an infrequent customer due to severely cutting out eating my childhood favorites I mentioned above; however, I will surely refer my neighbors purchasing donuts from Donut Factory.

I was driving in Placerville near the Donut Factory. They were still open for the day... so of course I made a beeline to get over there to buy some donuts. D'oh donuts!!! The donuts are darn tasty. My all time fave of a cake donut is pretty amazing here. Plus the place is family ran and the prices are pretty reasonable. Prices are significantly cheaper than the shops in Folsom. It was near closing time, so the selection was not their full offerings. But I was still able to get some cake donuts. $1. I bought vanilla cake and chocolate cakes with varying frostings and toppings. Mmm. They even taste just as good the day after; I know since we had a couple of donuts we bought and ate the next afternoon. They were still cakey moist, tasty and fresh tasting! Other signature items besides the donuts are apple turnovers, berry handheld bakes, chocolate croissants, and regular croissants. $2.50. All of them are home made and fresh baked. Looking all so gorgeous sitting behind the enclosed glass counter. A couple of bonuses of this donut shop are that they sell coffee and espresso drinks. Plus they have a few tables inside and outside where you can sit a spell and enjoy the donuts. It's a clean, no frills type of place.

Prices don't match what's charged. I questioned the prices and was gave some long drawn out reason why this Asian woman was justified for ripping me off(compared to the board that shares prices with customers). I paid more for a "mixed dozen" for $15. Got regular maple and chocolate donuts, nothing special and was charged $18. This may not seem like much but it adds up when your doing it to every customer. Just a heads up to watch out for this woman.

Blueberry and chocolate donut with nut.

So, we rented the fishing rod for $12 but we didn't catch anything (not sure if there're any fish in the pond) - it was fun though. - Apple fritter walnut ($7): the fritter was good & cinnamony. It has lots of apple pieces and was covered with walnuts. It wasn't too sweet which was my liking. - Donut crumb ($2): the donut was good and soft. The crumb gave crunchy texture on the surface of the donut. - Dutch apple pie slice ($6): was ok. There were packed with apple pieces, very cinnamony and not too sweet. However, the crumb on top of the pie (that makes it 'Dutch') was disappointing - it was soggy and clumpy. - Sour cream berry pie ($6): delicious! The sour cream intensified the berry flavor and it was super good!

If you go on a random Wednesday you took off specifically for your chef friend on her day off so you could come get her necklace fixed by Wave Gods? We nearly had the place to ourselves compared to usual! Neither of us actually remembered which orchard Wave Gods posts up shop at, but we weren't worried. We knew we would know it by sight, and we did! Wave Gods is a beautifully handcrafted jeweler. They're local, fair trade, high quality, fairly priced, and super friendly people. I found a lovely amethyst ring for just $30. And I can trust that it's going to last a very long time if I don't lose it. Wave Gods fixed Jenna's necklace in no time at all, did a cleanse on it to expel all the nasty aura ex bf essences, and she traded one of the beads he made her pick for one of her own choosing. You can have custom pieces done, be they rings, engagement rings, bracelets, earrings or necklaces. Super amazing shop. Check them out! Another excellent reason to stop by here is to munch on a fresh, hot, crunchy, sticky apple fritter. Good lord almighty I hadn't had one in several years but had been having a hankering. The fritter I ordered was everything. I would have wolfed the whole thing down right there but my tummy is what it is so I saved half for later. Delicious heavenly goodness. The duck pond is another fun feature where you can often watch dogs and their humans as well as ducks and geese of all kinds. I remember coming here with my grandparents when I was really little, and appreciate that it still looks the same as it ever did. Maybe not as immense as it seemed to kid me though. Cozy good times and food times at High Hill ranch. Most of what you come up to apple hill for you can find here, plus more craft tents than other orchards have. You may have to use a port o pot. It'll be fine. Vegan Corner: the Fudge Factory has vegan pies ! And gluten free for anyone looking.

Ten minutes after getting our order, both breakfast sandwiches were cold. Not "could be hotter"…read morecold -- actually cold, with part of the egg still cold like it barely touched heat. The cheese looked like it was thrown on straight from the fridge and left there as an afterthought. The hash browns tasted like freezer burn and old oil, like they were made yesterday and reheated. For the prices you charge, serving food this bad is insulting. Warming up breakfast food should not be a challenge, yet somehow this place failed at the most basic part of its job. This wasn't a minor mistake, this was lazy, careless food prep and zero quality control. If you can't serve hot breakfast, maybe stop selling breakfast.

The challenge that had was the service was really slow and there were two vehivcles ahead of me and it took 12 minutes to wait to get to the window and another 7 minutes to receive my food which was 19 minutes. The young lady was pleasant and apologized for the time it took to get my food and she was plesant but it took time. The other challenge is the entrance and the parking lot can be a little challenging with cars at times not controlling their speed. Lots of congestion even at 6:30am in the morning. Ambiance is good with a nice brand new facility but I have to say the service could have been much better.
