Donuts and coffee [Cameron Park CA] Ugh! Daylight savings time... lost an hour and now hankering for donuts. Took a little detour in Cameron Park to this local shop off of Highway 50. Inside is clean, spacious and bright with natural lighting. There are some table seating inside. I chose my usual cinnamon roll and hubby his regular raised glazed. OJ and coffee to wash it down. Hubby didn't really like the coffee LoL! Donuts were soft and pillowy. Yummy! Owners are friendly knowing many regular locals and greeting them by name. The shop is located on a strip mall with ample parking spaces. Review #3719

We came upon this donut shop because we dined at the restaurant next door. - Chocolate donut with rainbow sprinkles: the donut was dense & chocolaty yet it was delicious! - Old fashioned glazed: light & airy donut and simply delicious - Glazed french cruller: best cruller in the area! It was very airy and soft. - Raspberry filled donut: donut was soft and delicious! There was generous raspberry filling inside.

A few things: -I think my phone said it was closed. It obviously wasn't. -TGFGPS. Business sign wasn't lit. Open sign was. -Felt like my donut had been refrigerated. It wasn't a huge diversion from the freeway so sure, why not spoil myself a little more and pick up a donut or two on the way up to the snow? It was a tad disappointing. I'm on my way up to the cold. I'd prefer my freshly baked/fried/sugared goods to be warm. My cruller looked phenomenal but maybe that's how food photographers do it- it was cold. Not sitting-there-for-a-while cold, but refrigerator cold. Difficult to tell it was open for business. Even more difficult to find it in the dark. An 'open' sign in the middle of nowhere is too vague. Is it a tax preparation office? A massage parlor? Eh, phone luckily found it. Phone also told me it was closed. It may be on the way to Heavenly Mountain Resort but the same-named donut shop was a miss in my book.

Ordinarily best donuts ever. But this morning the glazed donuts were only partially glazed....minimally glazed. It was disappointing

I don't get it. The donuts are OKAY but similar to ones at Safeway? Cream filled donuts are needed

It's the old traditional doughnut shop. The doughnuts are wonderful and the staff is fun and friendly.

‼ WARNING ‼ DO NOT EAT AT RANCHO CORDOVA DONUTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR FAMILY'S HEALTH…read more Before you brush this off, go look at Rancho Cordova Donuts' most recent health inspection. It specifically cites their negligence when it comes to food safety -- including their ham and cheese croissants. This is documented and public record. You can review it yourself here: https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/sacramento/inspection/?inspectionID=C2873A6A-27BE-4310-97F3-0336E0658D6F My son became sick with food poisoning after eating a ham and cheese croissant with moldy ham from Rancho Cordova Donuts -- yes, moldy ham. He had to be taken to the doctor because of this. This wasn't an isolated accident -- it was a direct result of their negligent food handling and total disregard for customer safety. After this incident, we went back to them expecting at least an apology. What did they do? They offered to refund $29.35 and didn't even say "I'm sorry." And again -- this is not speculation. Their last health inspection specifically pointed out negligence around food safety, including improper storage and handling of ham and cheese croissants -- exactly the item that made my son sick. This is beyond disappointing. This is dangerous. If they can't keep bread and ham safe to eat -- something you serve every day -- then how can anyone trust them with any food? Parents, friends, and neighbors -- stay far away from this place. Your health is NOT worth their incompetence, and your family shouldn't be a test subject for their lack of standards. They need to fix their kitchen. Fix their food safety. And start caring about their customers -- not just offering refunds after someone gets sick.
