Cinnamon roll, opera cake, entremet, tart, petit four

I was lucky to try both a morning tea tasting earlier this year and take home a couple of extra treats from the bakery afterwards. The high tea event was well organized and hosted in a nice tasting room across from the bakery. The food and service were great. The bakery itself was easy to find afterwards and they provided prompt service inside. The selection had dwindled a bit by the time I popped in, which was towards late morning/noontime on a Sunday, but there were still several varieties to choose from. Everything I tried, both savory and sweet, were some of the best gluten free treats I've had, and I've been gluten free for about seven years now. The owner/pastry chef was present and shared some background on his process and overall was nice to talk to. He has struck a delicious balance between flavor, texture, and sweetness. The savory goods including focaccia and scones were not dry, crumbly, or grainy. The sweet pastries had pleasant flavors and textures, which included opera cake, entremet, petit four, and tart. It was fun trying these different gluten free items and it felt like I was spoiled with all of the options. I highly recommend making the drive to check out this shop.

Everything I sampled was so delicious and the service was outstanding! I will definitely be driving back to try other goodies in the future. Everyone, gluten free or not, should try the chocolate cake. You will be in heaven! The ciabatta rolls are also amazing and I am looking forward to having a sandwich for lunch today. See you soon!

Puff, eclair, mousse thingy, meringue thingy, amazing goodness.

I wanted to add to my previous review that I have had multiple items from here and have not had any issues. I have celiac. Also, the scones, cin rolls, bear claws freeze really well. So buy a bunch and freeze and let thaw and enjoy when you're ready.

I've been gf for about 15 years, and have tried SO many attempts at tasty treats. I have never had anything so good as at Flourless. And so good that when I share it with non-gf people they love and are excited when I bring more. I don't care where you have to drive from, you need Flourless in your life.

Amazing products! Don't let the "flourless" concern you. The offerings are delish! Be there early in the day as they often sell out!

The interior feels like walking into someone's home that's crowded and filled with knicks knacks and antiques. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Plus the menu is pretty extensive, so many choices... pretty much classic American diner food. Plus they have home made pies, strudel, and cinnamon rolls. They have four kinds of strudel and 11 types of pies. To name a few pie flavors ... apple, blackberry, pecan, lemon meringue, banana cream. Yum. On my last visit as I was perusing the menu, the ribeye chicken fried steak caught my attention. I've never had a ribeye version, so I ordered that. The ribeye cube steak was pounded to the thinnest, barely there thickness. It was a tad overcooked rendering the bread crust a bit dry. Even the gravy couldn't soften it up. Hubs ordered the bacon wrapped fried hotdog and cup of minestrone soup. I sampled off his plate. Both were ok. The fried batter around the hotdog was crunchy hard and dry. It would have tasted better without the batter. The soup was lukewarm. In the past, I recall the overal quality and food tasting much better. I'm apt to come back and ordering other items.

Ever since their opening back in 2016, this has been a wildly popular spot to enjoy inside or on-the-go with their convenient drive-thru. Located right next to a Quik Stop gas station and a Subway, this place is conveniently at the corner of Diamond Rd (Highway 49) and Pleasant Valley Rd in the small community of Diamond Springs. I also wanted to mention that they have very generous hours of operation being opened Monday through Saturday from 5:30am to 4:30pm while being closed on Sunday. I ended up coming here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/15/2024 at around 2:15pm. Since this was well past the morning rush, there were no other customers inside and not a single vehicle parked directly outside. As far as the exterior layout, it uses freestanding rocks which gives it a castle-like appearance. The interior though is very impressive as they've utilized the walls with floral-type balconies, a large painting with more floral arrangements surrounding it, and vintage furniture which has a very nostalgic look as if you've stepped back in time. I also wanted to point out that there is a spacious outdoor sitting area for the most comfortable days. First and foremost, the menu here is quite impressive with a huge selection of coffees, espressos, teas, quenchers, blended drinks, and smoothies. They also carry a nice assortment of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, burritos, croissants, and crepes. And for the lunch crowd, they even offer pizza, pasta, soup, and traditional sandwiches. I ended up ordering a slice of their pepperoni pizza with a small mango smoothie while my significant other went with a bacon, egg, & cheddar bagel with an iced Americano. Our drinks were ready within a couple minutes while our food came shortly thereafter. I will say that the mango smoothie was delicious as it was refreshing without being too overbearingly sweet. However, the pizza was just okay for me as it was a bit on the soggy side and not too crisp. Same goes with the bagel as there were more small clumps of bacon (instead of full-cut bacon). And the eggs, they resembled more of a processed scramble egg with a perfectly cut square; I have a feeling it might be frozen and heated to save time. However, the bagel was good and had nice texture to it. Still at $10 for the breakfast bagel, this was a bit on the pricier side. All in all, "Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." is a decent place that has a lot of character and charm to it. The young staff working here were very kind, courteous, and accommodating while the ambiance is definitely a home run in my book. I'd stick with the coffee as this is their strong point. But for a stop before work or even if you're heading to Tahoe or the foothills, this is a decent above average business. My rating, four stars.
