Amazing food and an even more amazing owner. Richard, the owner, is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet and hands down makes the best gluten-free pastries I've had in my 12 years of being gluten-free. He switches up the menu now and then to keep things fresh with new options. The shop is tucked in the cutest spot in downtown Placerville, and parking is usually easy to find on the street. No doubt the best gluten-free bakery in El Dorado County.

Everything I sampled was so delicious and the service was outstanding! I will definitely be driving back to try other goodies in the future. Everyone, gluten free or not, should try the chocolate cake. You will be in heaven! The ciabatta rolls are also amazing and I am looking forward to having a sandwich for lunch today. See you soon!

I was lucky to try both a morning tea tasting earlier this year and take home a couple of extra treats from the bakery afterwards. The high tea event was well organized and hosted in a nice tasting room across from the bakery. The food and service were great. The bakery itself was easy to find afterwards and they provided prompt service inside. The selection had dwindled a bit by the time I popped in, which was towards late morning/noontime on a Sunday, but there were still several varieties to choose from. Everything I tried, both savory and sweet, were some of the best gluten free treats I've had, and I've been gluten free for about seven years now. The owner/pastry chef was present and shared some background on his process and overall was nice to talk to. He has struck a delicious balance between flavor, texture, and sweetness. The savory goods including focaccia and scones were not dry, crumbly, or grainy. The sweet pastries had pleasant flavors and textures, which included opera cake, entremet, petit four, and tart. It was fun trying these different gluten free items and it felt like I was spoiled with all of the options. I highly recommend making the drive to check out this shop.

I've been gf for about 15 years, and have tried SO many attempts at tasty treats. I have never had anything so good as at Flourless. And so good that when I share it with non-gf people they love and are excited when I bring more. I don't care where you have to drive from, you need Flourless in your life.

This bakery serves speciality European GF items that yes, you "can't believe are gluten free." It sets itself apart from other GF bakeries in that the items are premium---a foodie's dream. You aren't relegated to selecting which cookie or cupcake you want because there are none. Instead you can pick from cream puffs, opera cake, lemon tarts, and gateaus, which is every person's dream. The owner (Richard) is a trained and experienced pastry chef who takes great pride in perfecting every single item. As someone who likes to travel and visit GF bakeries, look no further. This place is it. I have yet to find anything that compares.

Puff, eclair, mousse thingy, meringue thingy, amazing goodness.

Amazing products! Don't let the "flourless" concern you. The offerings are delish! Be there early in the day as they often sell out!

We came with a party of 6 on a Thursday for brunch and was seated right away. It seems like it definitely gets busy, especially the weekends! The portions were HUGE. Everyone was stuffed! My toddler especially loved the warmed blueberry bran muffin -- toddler approved. The muffins seem to go fast, since people seem to stop by just to their pastries. We ordered some with our meal, and later my in-law decided they wanted one to-go, but they were already sold out. I got the quiche and it was really delicious. It was a little heavier on the cheese for my personal taste, but still really good and I enjoyed it. I also had leftovers! We also tried the blueberry pancake, which was fluffy and full of blueberries! I was pleasantly surprised because many places skimp on blueberries, but this was loaded! It was perfect! Others in my party also got omelettes and they enjoyed it as well. Overall, cute atmosphere, friendly staff, generous portions, and good food. Would definitely stop by again when we're in Placerville!

For those of you looking for that caffeine fix and wish to venture out of the Sacramento area,…read more"Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." will have you covered. Ever since their opening back in 2016, this has been a wildly popular spot to enjoy inside or on-the-go with their convenient drive-thru. Located right next to a Quik Stop gas station and a Subway, this place is conveniently at the corner of Diamond Rd (Highway 49) and Pleasant Valley Rd in the small community of Diamond Springs. I also wanted to mention that they have very generous hours of operation being opened Monday through Saturday from 5:30am to 4:30pm while being closed on Sunday. I ended up coming here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/15/2024 at around 2:15pm. Since this was well past the morning rush, there were no other customers inside and not a single vehicle parked directly outside. As far as the exterior layout, it uses freestanding rocks which gives it a castle-like appearance. The interior though is very impressive as they've utilized the walls with floral-type balconies, a large painting with more floral arrangements surrounding it, and vintage furniture which has a very nostalgic look as if you've stepped back in time. I also wanted to point out that there is a spacious outdoor sitting area for the most comfortable days. First and foremost, the menu here is quite impressive with a huge selection of coffees, espressos, teas, quenchers, blended drinks, and smoothies. They also carry a nice assortment of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, burritos, croissants, and crepes. And for the lunch crowd, they even offer pizza, pasta, soup, and traditional sandwiches. I ended up ordering a slice of their pepperoni pizza with a small mango smoothie while my significant other went with a bacon, egg, & cheddar bagel with an iced Americano. Our drinks were ready within a couple minutes while our food came shortly thereafter. I will say that the mango smoothie was delicious as it was refreshing without being too overbearingly sweet. However, the pizza was just okay for me as it was a bit on the soggy side and not too crisp. Same goes with the bagel as there were more small clumps of bacon (instead of full-cut bacon). And the eggs, they resembled more of a processed scramble egg with a perfectly cut square; I have a feeling it might be frozen and heated to save time. However, the bagel was good and had nice texture to it. Still at $10 for the breakfast bagel, this was a bit on the pricier side. All in all, "Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." is a decent place that has a lot of character and charm to it. The young staff working here were very kind, courteous, and accommodating while the ambiance is definitely a home run in my book. I'd stick with the coffee as this is their strong point. But for a stop before work or even if you're heading to Tahoe or the foothills, this is a decent above average business. My rating, four stars.

So sad to see our last day has come and gone. Today is the first Monday closed . No more Ciao welcome in. No more very berry bars. No more ham and cheese croissants. No more chicken bacon club or house made jalapeño bagels. No more sweeping or mopping or struggling to unscrew the lids off the whip cream canisters. I will miss you Love Birds. One last Ciao.
