the raspberry thumbprint was so dank with a light coffee.
    Jeff W.

I've always driven past here going to Costco and finally got to experience the beautifully hidden gem! Vegan, gluten-free, and baked with love, the cookies here are really good. Also, they did Not bother my sensitive stomach after trying two of them like other popular vegan/gluten-free bakeries I've had in Sac and the Bay. The quality is a reflection of the bakery and its team. I think I talked with the owner and another crew on Saturday. The bakery look is pink, clean, and crisp with a love for Star Wars and wonderful presentation. Cookies; Funfetti, (yummy, bright and smooth, my dog also loved this!) snickerdoodle, (on point and just as you'd imagine), Raspberry Thumbprint (best vegan thumbprint I've ever had) man... can't wait to go back and get all chocolate items next visit! :) No grainy finishes or after taste. Just deelish! Support local y'all!

I almost forgot to take a picture of the frosted cookie, lol...

Vacillating between three or four stars. I will make it four stars, because overall the cookies did taste good. I was in the neighborhood, and so I decided to stop by and try this place based on the reviews. The place is bright and clean, they have a good sized selection, and the lady that ran the place was very very friendly. Overall, the two cookies I had were OK. The first cookie I had was the chocolate cookie dough frost 'em. The cookie was a very good sized, and the cookie itself tasted good, but it had a bit of a gritty texture. Also, the cookie was way too sweet. Maybe cut back on the frosting a little bit, or maybe put a little bit less sweetening in the frosting, but the frosting was definitely overwhelming. The second cookie I had later, was the snickerdoodle. Again, the cookie tasted very good, but again, it had a bit of a gritty texture. Also, the middle of the snickerdoodle definitely tasted underbaked to me. It was just way too soft. The soft texture took away from the cookie a bit. The texture was just a little bit "off" for me. The price was reasonable, especially considering that this is a specialty bakery. There is a small upcharge if you pay with card, but it was very clearly pointed out. They refer to it as a "cash discount. I do realize that these cookies are vegan and gluten-free, and it may have been the gluten-free that caused the texture issues. Looking back at it now, it may be because a lot of gluten-free products use rice flour, which cannot be milled as fine as "regular flour.". That could be the cause of the grittiness. . I am glad that the vegan and gluten-free Community do have a place where they can get their sweets now. For me, I am glad I tried them, but while overall the cookies were OK, they just weren't for me. Thank you anyway.

I stopped by for the 2025 Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge. It's such a cute bakery and they had a ton of desserts! It was so hard not to get one of everything! For the challenge, I got the Orange Chocolate Mousse Cake Cup and the Tater Toffee Cookie. I also couldn't resist a Halloween jack-o'-lantern Vanilla Cupcake and a Jack Skellington sugar cookie. Everything was absolutely scrumptious, and cute! The service was also super friendly! (instagram: jax.vegan.eats)

Nice little storefront. Has good selection of locally made treats. Was in the area, but would stop by again!

I'm not the biggest "sweets" person, but any time my wife asks if I want anything from The Caring Kitchen, it's an immediate yes! Anything snickerdoodle is my weakness. Also the cookie dough sandwiches are an instant bad day turned into an amazing day! Would gladly pay $20 for one of these cookies knowing how they are made and what goes into them. Anyone complaining about the price of these treats has clearly no idea what they're talking about and are just broke and bitter. On top of that, we love supporting local small businesses, and this is one of the best!

    Laura T.

I came for the cookies and I was not disappointed in the selection! I got a snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, & and Oreo stuffed cookie. There was only one employee working the front. Inside is very small and got cramped fast since there was a large line waiting for the pastries. The cookies are all uniform in size and all very moist. They did have a grainy texture after biting into them. Personally did not enjoy them because of that texture & couldn't finish them. I inquired about lemon pastries & they said the baker posts the menu online for the day so plan accordingly.

Happiness! That's what's in the photo. It's called the Eat Your Feelings cup. Once I eat it, I feel happy.

A Rare Gem for Those with Food Allergies, Intolerances, or Simply a Desire for Thoughtful Treats Unless you've personally faced food allergies or intolerances, it's hard to understand the daily struggle of finding something as simple as a baked treat that's both safe and delicious. That's why The Caring Kitchen is such a gift. Even if you can't relate firsthand, I believe we can all choose to be empathetic--and this bakery absolutely does. While I don't have Celiac disease myself, my father did. He loved baked goods but had to avoid them to prevent severe symptoms. I have a gluten intolerance, and I experience inflammatory responses when I consume gluten-based foods. On top of that, I've dealt with a digestive disorder since 1996 that limits my ability to process most animal products (except egg whites and some fish), and I can't tolerate high-fiber or starchy foods like apples, bananas, tortillas, legumes, or even watermelon. In 2020, after years of carefully resetting my gut health, I transitioned to a balanced carb-to-protein lifestyle. The results were life-changing: 40+ pounds lost, a major drop in cholesterol and triglycerides (from heart-attack-risk to healthy), and no more pain in my knees or joints. Enter The Caring Kitchen. This bakery understands--they don't just offer gluten-free and vegan options; they also cater to the top 9 food allergens, and do it with compassion and care. I've never experienced inflammation or digestive issues from their products. That's huge. Now, for the folks who critique the sugar content: Let's be honest--sweet treats aren't required in any diet. But accessible, allergen-conscious, less-inflammatory treats absolutely have a place in a balanced lifestyle. I visit once a month, stock up on cookies, cupcakes, and bars, cut them into small servings, freeze them, and enjoy them mindfully throughout the month. They freeze and thaw beautifully. I get the flavor, the satisfaction, and none of the regret. To the team at The Caring Kitchen: Thank you. Thank you for caring about your customers. Thank you for tirelessly researching, experimenting, and creating with people like me in mind. Your efforts may go unrecognized by some--but for many of us, they are life-changing. Your bakery is a true gem. One that brightens lives, one thoughtful bite at a time.

I'm 100% on board. For those who are celiac like myself, it's very difficult to find reasonable consistency with baked goods. From that broader perspective, this spot specifically cracked the code. First visit and I'll say while service is okay, ambiance is great, menu options are diverse, and quality of items is high. About the food: I had what was essentially ham and cheese wrapped in a croissant. For years, I've been trying to find a gluten-free croissant as close to the common version as possible - soft, light, flaky, buttery, and everything else characteristically pertinent. Finally done right! Also had the oatmeal cream pie, almond croissant cookie, and brownie - each soft and rich in flavor. Will absolutely be back.

Came here for the keto options and sad to say there wasn't much to choose from however these keto donuts did not disappoint! I loved that it was cool in temperature, dense and moist. I really enjoyed it. I will def be back if we're in the area to try more!

I love both locations! They are amazing at making vegan and gluten-free treats! The service is outstanding , and I love the ambiance of Star Wars and that it's family owned. Wonderful... Thank YOU!

I've been here too many times to count and the excitement I feel walking in the store is always unmatched!! As someone with an anaphylactic egg and dairy allergy it's practically impossible to find sweets ... a these aren't just sweet treats.. they are AMAZING!!! I've never tried something I didn't like here! I have dreams about this place 100/10!! Everyone should try this gem of a bakery, allergies or not! The quality is top tier always! Service is always great + fast! Did I mention the bakery is PINK inside.. what's not to like?? Ambience is 10/10!

Goodies!!!! I called the strawberry shortcake all mine!

I've had this bakery saved on my to check out list for months now and today was the day! I'm so glad we decided to go. There weren't baked goods left, but enough to order one of each so we could test and taste them. The pizza scone is delicious! The gluten free donut is also very good. So moist and not overly sweet. I love the bits of carrots and nuts inside. Perfect. We will be trying the tiramasu after dinner. My bf loved the chocolate chip cookie sandwich with cookie dough in the center. The bakery is tucked away to the right of the gas station, cute, quaint bakery. We arrived two hours before closing. I also purchased a homemade soap that I'm so excited to try! Definitely will be coming back for more. Absolutely delicious .

This bakery is my version of heaven on earth. Everything I've tried from here has been delightful, delicious, unique, flavorful, and satisfying my cravings every time! I'm in love with this place! I am in love with their cookie sandwiches, brownies, cupcakes, cake pops, cookie dough anything, caramel anything, and oh my goodness the coffee cake with the most perfect streusel on top! Everything is made from scratch. 100% Vegan and Gluten Free facility. There is something for everyone! I look forward to her menus every week posted on her Instagram and I am always curious to try something new! Furthermore, the service is kind and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, making this an enjoyable experience every time.

Do you make dairy 🥛-free birthday cakes? My son is allergic to cow's milk. Thank you.

Hi! Unfortunately we don’t make birthday cakes at this time. We likely won’t be taking cake orders again until we find a space with a bigger kitchen.

What kind of oils are used?

Depends on the recipe. We use a vegan butter that contains canola oil and olive oil. Some recipes use grapeseed oil. Some use coconut oil. So it varies.

We ordered a "velvet" (taro+thai tea) with boba and a strawberry milk with strawberry boba. Also ordered a fruity pebbles macaron and a strawberry cheesecake macaron. First of all, the drinks were delicious. Cold and creamy and not 90% ice which was a huge plus. I felt like we got more drink than ice and I highly appreciate that. The strawberry milk drink tasted like it was mixed with real strawberry pieces. The velvet drink was the perfect blend of taro and Thai tea. All in all, both had great flavor. My only complaint, the size of the drink- it's pretty small. But it's also about normal for these kinds of drinks so it's to be expected. My daughter liked the macaron cookies (they are a favorite of hers). I've never been a fan of those kinds of cookies but I tried them and they were tasty. First let me start by saying... FROYO!!…read more I'm a big fan of frozen yogurt, and when the flavors and toppings are this stacked, I'm basically a kid in a candy store. Ambiance: 7/10 It's a yogurt shop, so don't expect much in terms of decor... but honestly, that's not what we're here for. The focus is the froyo. They've got some indoor seating along the wall and a small aarea in the back, enough to chill if you're not taking it togo. Service: 5/10 It's a self serve place, so interaction is minimal. Only reason I'm knocking it down is because it took a while for someone to come out from the back when I needed a sample cup. Once I had that, I was good to go. Food: 10/10 I sampled about 6 different flavors (zero shame), and settled on cheesecake and chocolate raspberry truffle....SO good. I went full dessert mode and topped it with cheesecake bites (a must for me), cookie dough bites, brownies, cherries, you get the picture. It was glorious, and I had leftovers for a second round later. Thanks, Yogurtland, for being loaded with options and not skimping on the good stuff. I'll definitely keep coming back for my froyo fix.
