My work doordashed this bakery and it was my first time trying it out. They mainly sell cupcakes but I got the churro cookie sandwich and the lemon blondie. The churro cookie sandwich was soooo good. It was two snickerdoodle cookies covered in cinnamon and sugar with the churro flavored cream in the middle. It was quite a large sandwich so I would say the price was worth it. It's definitely too heavy to have in one sitting but I would get it again if we order from here in the future. The lemon blondie was also very big and was more on the sweeter side than the tart side which is not my preference but my other coworkers liked it. My friend and I stopped by as she's raved about Sweet Haven for quite a while. She mentioned that we should stop by while we were out and I agreed. When we walked in I thought the inside is absolutely cute all pink with pink balloons. I love pink so it was a great touch. I looked at the variety of cupcakes and they all looked delicious and well decorated. I was torn between getting the biscoff cupcake and the Dirty chai cupcake. Keep in mind all the cupcakes are vegan. I decided on the dirty chai cupcake. I think the cupcakes at $7 each is a little steep for the size of the cupcake. The cupcake itself was okay it wasn't bad but I have bad better vegan cupcakes. The vegan buttercream was overwhelmingly too sweet that it took away from the flavor of the cake herself as well as the cupcake is very dense but not hard. The customer service I will say is top notch some of the best I have received when it comes to food questions and concerns. I can appreciate this kind of quality customer service. I rate them overall at the moment 3.5 starts but I do plan on trying other cupcake flavors especially the Biscoff I hopefully this isn't a seasonal flavor. If you think I'm exaggerating, then take a bite of his infamous carrot cake and see if you don't agree. How his sweet treats haven't made it in to the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op yet is baffling, but hey at least you can get some of his baked awesomeness at the Temple Coffee on K St if you go early enough (they sell out quickly). I first learned of Haven's treats at last year's Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge during a pop-up event. I watched as people swarmed his booth and then pounced on a pumpkin cream cheese cookie sandwich before they sold out. So much yum! We were looking for a bakery in Citrus Heights and found this one on Yelp. As soon as we went in we were greeted by a friendly gentleman, who told us is the father of the baker. We had a nice talk with him and his wife. We ended up buying four cupcakes (carrot, almond/raspberry, chocolate, cocoa) and a chocolate cake. We took the cake to a friend's house...everyone loved it! My daughter and I were waiting for her sister to get her hair completed at Ulta and we happened to stumble on this cute shop. It's hidden in the corner across from that butterfly mural.
