I also grabbed a strawberry shortcake cup from the freezer case. Cake part was a little dry and a little heavy-handedness on the strawberry syrup. We finally made our way from Rocklin to try out Urban Desserts. And now I'm wondering why we didn't come sooner!!! The place is super cute! We walked in to be welcomed by the owner. He was super nice and helpful being it was our first time there. There is definitely something for everyone, from sweet to savory, hot and cold. Frozen yogurt, shakes, smoothies, waffles, crepes, cake, cookies, frozen cheesecake, frozen chocolate covered bananas, and so much more. I decided on a Coffee Affogado with Hazelnut. It was absolutely delicious. The perfect amount of coffee, frozen yogurt and sweet hazelnut... 10/10. My oldest ordered a Peach Smoothie. It was sweet and refreshing with chucks of fruit. Absolute perfection. My youngest decided on vanilla frozen yogurt with strawberry popping boba as her topping. He put tons of toppings which made for one happy girl. Next time we decided we need to try a crepe, frozen cheesecake on a stick and the strawberry shortcake cup in the fridge. I stopped by because I thought they were an actual dessert bakery. They are not; but don't let that stop you from enjoying their skills. They do offer a few baked items but I did not try them tonight. A customer before me ordered a banana split and it looked amazing. He must have asked for something extra because mine didn't look like his. However, it was the best I have had in a very long time. I just can't believe this is yogurt. Menu had some very interesting and yummy options however watching my calorie intake I opted for a smaller portion. I tried the child size watermelon and pineapple dole whip. YUM!! My boyfriend ordered the plain frozen yogurt with Crushed Oreos and that was great. This feels like an ice cream shop when you walk in but the menu has way more than ice cream. We opted for some grab n go: tiramisu and a chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick with butterfinger crumbles. Urban desserts is a hidden gem in Sacramento 100%! A friend suggested we give them a try today and we were pleasantly surprised. She order the chunky monkey (I think is what it was called) crepe which had peanut butter and chocolate and a bunch of other deliciousness, and purchased a frozen cake pop cheesecake on a stick to go (which we also nibbles on while there and it was one of the best things I've tasted in a long time!) I went savory and ordered the chicken Florenten crepe and also purchase a chocolate dipped frozen cheesecake on a stick, both were equally delicious! We decided to eat there and we we able to connect with the one of the owners (it's a husband + wife team) and it was clear that this spot was stared out of passion! Came tonight at 8:30PM. Let me start off by saying the welcoming vibe here is great. It really reminds me of Santa Cruz, small business with open arms. The man in the front on register was so sweet and welcoming (also funny!) and the woman working next to him was working at top speed to get customers their orders. Very sweet! I'm a big fan of small businesses and found them okay Tok Tok, so when I say I had high expectations, they exceeded it. I am officially a FroYo girlie, when I wasn't before. This place has an amazing technique where you pick all the toppings you want and they mix it up in this fancy FroYo blender and it makes this magical perfectly creamy creation. I am hooked on the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor right now, but there are so many options. I crave this place more than any dessert now that I've discovered. The vibes are cute inside and out. I was looking for a custom cupcake shop near me. I couldn't find anything. I finally went into Urban Desserts to see if they could make me some cupcakes for an "under the sea" themed baby shower. I worked with George who said they could do anything and he sent me an idea. I approved, and couldn't believe it when I picked them up. Better than I imagined! They were gorgeous, and I got so many compliments on them. They were delicious, too. We were kind of hoping folks wouldn't want to take any home so we could have them. (Shaved ice, frozen yogurt with toppings, milkshakes, smoothies, sweet and savory crepes and so much more!) My kids each got one kid scoop of frozen yogurt (tons of flavors to choose from) with a topping each! (You can add toppings on top, or even incorporate it into your yogurt!) you're able to either create your own flavors, or they have some famous and favorite creations that you can choose as well. I went with the honey and banana crepe topped with strawberries, raspberries, whipped cream and Nutella, and my sis got the Oreo shake. The kids inhaled their yogurt, my sisters shake was so good the kids drank half of it, and my crepe was perfectly made. Crunchy and crisp edges with the perfect amount of chewiness in the middle. (And made to order so it's nice and fresh!) Service was great, they were very patient with my kids and the place is small but seating is available and there is plenty of seats outside. Delightful little treat spot. First time visiting and it was nice to have some unique choices. Very interested in the fact they have crepes and waffles. This visit I decided on a crepe called Cinnamon Roll. It was prepared by a very nice lady who was helpful as I went through the selections before ordering. The crepe was good to have. It was a little disappointing in the size but as everything has to be in a To Go box, maybe it seems more diminutive within the "one size fits all" container. In Texas, I found lovely coffee shop that had Lemon Curd on a larger crepe so maybe I was a little spoiled from the first. There is plenty of outdoor seating as the Starbucks on the corner of the building and the sandwich shop on the other side also have a lot of seating. The shop is clean and welcoming. This is a late review, my husband and I were out in Gold River on date night and after dinner we stop in. We were greeted by a friendly lady who was patient with all of my seven thousand questions. All the flavor you'd expect from a dragon fruit is there which is a really good sign. Most other places like Jamba Juice would have very watered down tropical fruit flavors in their smoothies. On a hot day, the small cafe does get busy and there was only one person on staff. Patience is highly recommended but don't let the wait keep you from trying the different options. After eating lunch in a nearby restaurant, I decided to come in and check the place out because I happened to see it on my drive into the strip mall. Uh oh. Dangerous! I came in during a CRAZY rush. Popular spot! But let me tell you, Mr. George was on it! He was getting orders going left and right with speed, accuracy, and above all a smile and a laugh. His jovial interactions with his customers make them feel right at home, and, though the wait, it is no big deal at all because of that at home service. While waiting for my treat, I sat down at a table with George's cousin, George. Both guys were incredibly hospitable engaged in great conversation. I had the chunky monkey (half chocolate and half vanilla, on a whim). It was the BOMB! They had so many yummy options, I wasn't sure what to pick. But I chose wisely. I live in Natomas and would gladly drive the 20+ minutes to visit this establishment due to the amazing service and yummy treats. Please do open up a shop in Natomas! He gave us the full overview on what was on offer and we ended up going with the pittaya energy bowl (Think açaí bowl but with dragonfruit instead). The pittaya bowl was very flavor forward with a beautiful magenta color contrasting with the pop of color from our selection of mango, strawberry, and granola topping.
