This was my first time here and WOW the ambiance as I stepped in completely blew me away! The location of the Folsom store is in the Broadstone shopping center across from the Bel Air grocery store. Their hours vary but during the week they are open until 8pm. I love the pretty in pink theme. I didn't know what to try but the great staff walked me through all the offerings. They have macarons, fresh made cakes, espresso bar, hot chocolate bar, macaron ice cream. I had to try the Tiramisu ice cream and it was so delicious and full of flavor. I took home 6 cookies which were a variety and told her to pick what she thinks would be best because I had a hard time choosing myself. I sat down at the tables and relaxed while I enjoyed my ice cream. This place is over the TOP beautiful inside and their quality truly shows in their staff service, environment and quality of taste of sweets! I heard great things about Ginger Elizabeth so we had to check out the Folsom location. Inside is adorably decorated with a cute photo wall, cozy pillows on the benches, and matching flowers on the table. Everything is clean and there are plenty of tables. The space is perfect to grab a dessert or even quietly do work or studying. There were all kinds of different chocolate items to choose from. They had chocolate covered pretzels, sauces, macarons, soft serve, drinks, and more. We even got a sample of the ice cream macaron. We got a soft serve of vanilla bean and then lavender lemon. We loved how rich and creamy the soft serve was. The staff were so friendly. They told us about the deals going on and were patient with us when choosing. read more

I stopped in with my eldest to pick up dessert after our family ate at West Coast Sourdough, also located in the center! I love their pink theme! She ordered a Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae w/ Chocolate Soft Serve and I ordered 2 Carrot Pecan Cake Slices for my husband and I. My eldest said her sundae was very good! One of the BEST carrot cakes I've ever had! This family owned business started in 2007. They're known for their award wining hot chocolate and handcrafted chocolates! Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates in Folsom has been on my radar for a long time. It's conveniently located in Broadstone Marketplace. Restaurant is pretty in pink, a perfect pit stop for a dessert or coffee date. There is an Instagrammable wall of pink, rosy, and gold draped fabrics. Service was stellar, attentive and willing to answer questions and share product information. Customers were offered samples of the Glazed Lemon Cookie. I was even allowed a taste of the vanilla ice cream. Vanilla Bean Macaron Soft Serve Ice Cream is blended with macarons, so it is packed with almond flavor. You can also see the vanilla bean flecks. The ice cream is also decorated with crunchy mini macaron wafers. $6 for 5 oz or $8 for 8 oz. You can add Sea Salt Caramel Sauce or Chocolate Fudge Sauce for $1.50. No Frozen Chocolate ice cream at this location currently. Salty Caramel was the only Ice Cream Macaron Sandwich flavor available here. Oaxachan Spice Hot Chocolate and most of the other hot cocoas use 53% semisweet chocolate. The Sipping Chocolate uses 70% bittersweet chocolate, and the Vegan Classic hot chocolate uses 62% semisweet chocolate. You can add Whipped Cream or House-Made Vanilla Bean Marshmallows to your hot cocoa. I loved the marshmallows, of which you can buy a baton for $9.50. Hot chocolate was a bit too sweet and rich for me, but I'm sure most would enjoy it. I actually was quite delighted with the complimentary iced water infused with cucumbers and lemon. Very refreshing, and you really could taste the cucumber. I also ordered these chocolates at $2.85 each. I'll list them in the order I liked them most: 1. Bergamot Orange Blossom 2. Hazelnut Praline 3. Caramelized Milk & Coffee 4. Brown Sugar Crème Brûlée 5. Brown Butter 3-5 are the safe bets, the chocolates customers probably try most. I was recommended to select chocolates based on my taste preferences, so it ended up the first 2 were my favorites. One employee also said Bergamot Orange Blossom was her favorite. Another employee said his favorite was Buttermilk Lime. It costs more to have the chocolates packaged in a box because you're paying for the dainty box, but make sure to handle with care if you have them packaged in the small plastic sleeve. I don't think pastries, like croissants, cream puffs, or cruffins, are offered here. Only macarons, cookies, and cake slices. The Salty Caramel macaron is the tasty bestseller. Absolutely love GE. The chocolates are just superior compared to any other chocolate out there. The texture, flavor and design, of these chocolates are just perfection! Ginger Elizabeth is a beautiful little shop with high-end chocolates, cookies and other treats. I've come a few times now since it makes a great gift for friends and family. They have some assortments you can get but I like choosing my own. I've done a six piece small box and a splurge of the 24-piece box that I bought for my mom and we got to share. The chocolates are exquisite, made from local ingredients. Each bite is an experience in itself. The shop is super cute too with lots to look at. Came in for a sweet treat and was not disappointed! This location is in a shopping mall with many businesses which makes it easy to access! We walked in and it was so cute and pink! Ordered a macaroon a chocolate and a very delicious hot chocolate. For the hot chocolate I wanted the sweeter and the sweet worker suggested the American hot chocolate and I got an 8oz (5.75) with marshmallows instead of whip. Let me tell you the home made marshmallows were so good they melted and created this velvety top before surprising me with the insanely good hot chocolate. It's very decadent and delicious. Finally got the chance to check out Ginger Elizabeth for a sweet little coffee-and-dessert outing with some family and friends and it did not disappoint! Now, I know most folks come here for the chocolate (and hey, no judgment), but this visit was all about the coffee and ice cream. The kids went straight for the ice cream, while I treated myself to the affogato and WOW. That chocolate base? Incredible. The macaron on top? Chef's kiss. Once I stirred it all together, it definitely became more of a dessert drink than a coffee, but honestly, I wasn't mad about it. It was decadent, sweet, and totally hit the spot. I frequent the midtown shop as it was always a lovely treat for our out of town friends and family. I was stoked to learn about this new location. This new shop was adorable and charming! I love their truffle chocolate cookie. This is one of the few places I'll go out of my way to get a sweet treat from! I believe this Folsom location has a bit more of a limited selection compared to the midtown shops. Their macarons and other seasonal offerings make great gifts though. Had the chance to stop by for the first time to try out Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates thanks to the Yelp events. Clean and bright store with a nice interior especially the blend of pink and white, makes it lovely. So many options for personal use or for gifting which i liked. What I ordered was the Vietnamese Coffee Caramel Macaron, whiskey Chocolate and the Swirl Soft Serve with Almond, Pistachio, and Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Barks. I personally don't like Macarons like that but this one just tasted sooo good, it had the right amount of sweetness to it and was very soft and just YUM. The Whiskey Chocolate was interesting. So far I have tried different chocolates that contained different alcohol types and 9/10 they were strong in smell and in flavor, but this one I liked because nothing jumps at you. The flavor got exposed as i continued chewing it, there was no strong alcohol smell nor was the flavor too much. As someone who doesn't drink, I enjoyed this because it doesn't hit you like that ( i do not know how much alcohol it contained). The Swirl Soft Serve was ABSOLUTELY TASTY!! The Swirl contains Frozen Hot Chocolate and Vanilla Bean Macaron flavors. I really enjoyed the macaron flavor, and together it also tasted good. What i wouldn't do the next time I visit is add toppings or just pick something less flavor and mouthful. For me the flavors were too much so I felt sad for missing out on the Soft Serve flavors itself (which is obv my fault lol). I overheard a customer and the workers talking and found out everything gets made in Sacramento and every morning they get fresh delivery, which explained the freshness and tastiness of the macaron even tho i was there around 4pm. Overall it was a nice experience, the sweet girl who helped me, getting to try a new place and new flavors, and also found a Macaron I finally like. will be back for more. read more

I love their macaron ice cream. The lemon flavors never disappoints. The Vietnamese macaron is a chefs kiss. I know what I would be gifting my friends and colleagues now! All of their packagings are so cute! I've tried everything from their fancy chocolates the ones that looks like marble (amazing delicacy) to their jam. Just yum yum. I'm one of Ginger Elizabeth's biggest fans, so, when I heard they were having a pop-up shop in Folsom, I knew I had to try to stop by. A few nights ago, I was able to make it in just before closing. I was a bit surprised to see that everything was prepacked, and mostly in large quantities. The product selection was clearly geared towards some of the wealthier clientele from the foothill suburbs. I love chocolate and macarons, but I virtually never buy twelve at a time. So, I ended up going home with an almond rocher dipped macaroni ice cream sandwich. Unfortunately, my particular sandwich was missing most of the dipping-- a whole side of it was missing, so my sandwich was only one quarter dipped. Still, it was amazing, and even tastier than I expected. I'm a long time fan of the almond rocher cupcakes, and still probably like those better, but this was a close second contender. I love Ginger Elizabeth, and I'm glad I got to check out the pop-up, but will probably stick to the J Street location in the future, since I like to purchase sweets in smaller quantities. But if you're in the need for a party favor or tasty gift in Folsom and don't feel like driving downtown, then I would definitely check this out. read more

I mean... how many stars can I give a spot? I've been a fan of GE chocolates since their original location in midtown. I'm thrilled that there is now a location near me. The selection is a bit smaller and lacks all the pastry items but they had enough stuff to definitely make it worth stopping in. They also have the full drink menu and perfect little gifts that I find are the best hostess gifts. I can't pass up their macarons. I got some from to have with my coffee but next time I'll be buying the strawberry filled ones. It would never be my go to flavor but I tried a sample of one when I walked in and it was so filled with strawberry flavor, not overly sweet. My daughter loved her chocolate bunny and I left before I could rack up too big of a bill. Next time I'd love to stay longer with a sipping chocolate as they do have a seating area. read more

We came here specifically for the Dubai Sundae which we shared. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a free chocolate. We placed our order at the counter and the. Waited to pick up our order. I do find it interesting when business charge a lot for their food and ask for a tip when you receive no table service. This was not a cheap sundae so don't be shocked by the price for the amount you get. The sundae was very good and hit the Dubai flavors. I love soft serve ice cream, but I should have asked for the chocolate over the vanilla it comes with. The place is small with a few tables. Being a no-frills gen X-er that is happy with mall cookies (Nestle, Mrs Field's, Great American cookie company, etc) I was a little skeptical when my wife wanted to stop by here for dessert after eating lunch at the new Vietnamese restaurant next door. The place is very pink and white inside. The display of the cookies, cakes, and fine chocolates and fudge was large and impressive. We got a few cookies (truffle chocolate and chocolate chip) and almond cake to go. The server was very helpful. Everything was placed in a white bag with magenta gift paper like you purchased some jewelry. When we got home the chocolate chip cookie tasted very good but not great. But I was blown away by the truffle chocolate cookie with the ganache filling that melts in your mouth and tasted other worldly. I didn't try the almond cake since my wife ordered it and was not really interested.
