They still exist and OMG such good European style chocolate. So happy they are at Rombauer for wine pairings.

I came in today with my member, who has a disability, and we had such a wonderful experience! Johnny went above and beyond to make sure my member felt welcomed and comfortable. He took the time to teach both of us about the history and background of the factory, making the experience educational, engaging, and enjoyable. His kindness, patience, and willingness to help truly stood out. Thank you, Johnny, for making our visit so memorable! Thank you to Talitha as well for making the check out nice and easy! Both were so kind! read more

Talk about real, good quality chocolate served with warm smiles over and that is what you'll get at The Chocolate Architect! They are serving some small bites to taste at the cashier and the flavors are not your usual. Can you imagine a limoncello flavored chocolate?! I tried it and it was delicious! Deep chocolate flavor with the hint of tangy that is just well balanced. The service is excellent! The staff are very friendly and will gladly accommodate requests and make recommendations based on your preference. It's a nice little shop with cozy sitting areas. My friend I went there during Christmas season and the decorations will make you want to sip hot chocolate and just enjoy the sweet moment. I ordered the hot mocha, which normally I wouldn't order because most places just serve it like sweet coffee that has an overpowering chocolate taste but not at The Chocolate Architect. Their hot mocha is legit mix of espresso and cocoa, the good quality cocoa. I highly recommend this place! read more

What an amazing concept... beer/wine pairings with chocolate...okay - sign me up! While I wasn't able to get the full experience (we had just finished dinner and couldnt really fit another bite/sip and were just exploring the Palladio), I was able to talk to one of the workers - Melissa - who let me know all about the business and their offerings. Can I just say- when someone loves what they do- it shows and really makes the experience so much better! I loved Melissa's personality and she was so sweet and patient to answer any questions we had. They always have chocolate samples and she even offered me a sample of the 3 wine slushie flavors they had. I tried the lavendar chocolate and the pink barbie rosé slushie, blue hawaian chardonnay slushie, and chocolate (I think red blend based) mint slushie. All were so nice and refreshing on a warm almost summer day. Melissa also showed us all the different flights and pairings they do and how she came to work there and her experience there. I loved her back story and her passion for the business. As for the ambiance, there is a small area to sit inside with some chairs and tables and even more comfy cushiony options and also an outdoor patio where you can enjoy people watching outside and live music nearby on Friday nights (when weather is nice) I definitely wanna return and get the full experience, but from those 10 minutes of being there - I know what a great spot it is. Definitely go check it out. read more

We always passed by this place whenever we are at the Palladio, but I was never interested since it says it's a wine bar. Then I saw someone who mentioned they had coffee there a while back, so we stopped in today after watching a movie. The coffee menu looked very simple, understandably since everything advertised around the store was for their wine and wine/chocolate flights. So we just picked the Silk Mocha and Silk Latte. When we ordered them, the lady just said "you mean a latte?" I guess so since that's the only latte on the menu and it says Silk Latte, so yeah sure if that's what your normal latte is. I didn't like the attitude but maybe she didn't mean to come across that way. Both of the workers weren't exactly friendly and smiling but did thank us at least. The Silk Mocha was definitely the winner of the two. When she handed me the drink she said something about it having housemade chocolate syrup I think, but couldn't understand her since she trailed off. It was a very good mocha though! The Silk latte was not so great. It tasted mainly like steamed milk and barely coffee flavor. They do have lots of chocolate goods in different types and flavors so it would be a nice place to buy a creative chocolate gift. Overall the mocha was good but I would not come out of my way for it. It's the only coffee in this shopping center though so I wouldn't mind getting it again if I needed one. read more

The is the spot for wine and chocolate lovers! Your tongue will Thank You! I had the top flight and everything on the tray goes perfectly with each other. The wines on this flight were deliciously delightful and the chocolates were perfect pairings. It was like a different experience with each sip and bites. Your palate will be dancing with butterflies in a field of flowers. Just like that! I can't wait to come back and try some other chocolates and pairings. This spot was definitely worth the money and time. And you can sit outside on their nicely prepared tables and people watch. Great way to spend a splendid afternoon. read more

6.30.2024 Wine slushes?! What in the world?! So unique and original. With a combination of silky truffles, it's such a great idea! Love that they give out samples. Got their Barbie wine slushy. Although great idea, I felt it lacked wine flavor. It just tasted sweet and sour. Tried their "butter-beer" truffle. Supposed to be butterscotch flavor, but it was more like condensed milk/powder flavor. For the price and overall taste, it'll just be a "try once" type of thing. Even after checking in on Yelp and mentioning about their 15% off, the cashier just ignored it and rang me up for regular prices. read more

Class and quality! Been here a few years ago and again today. Great staff support as I perused the many choices. Patient as I picked the plum options. Smooth chocolates, all with special flavors. Kate was take. To create a special Morse. Yes, these are not inexpensive. But the quality is worth it. I don't drink alcohol so cannot speak to those offerings. But they do offer pairing of drinks with chocolates. What a great and unique aspect above other chocolate stores or bars. read more

Best chocolate! I didn't come here for the wine pairing since I had my teen with me. Instead we had gelatos and sampled a few treats. Today's sampling were Cookies & Cream and Baby Bleu. Most would have an idea of the Cookies & Cream flavor but Baby Blue is bleu cheese, toasted pecans, dark chocolate silk. How should I describe the chocolates... silky and melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. They were silky soft, not too sweet, flavorful with a luxurious texture. We bought a bag of Dark Hazelnut Silk Bites ($6) and am savoring the taste right now as I compose my review. The gelatos are delicious! Daughter had the cherry and I had the cookies & cream. The shop is located next to Buckhorn BBQ at the Palladio. We often pass by it when shopping at the Palladio but this was the first time we actually stepped inside to look. The employee who was assisting us was very nice and ever so patient answering our questions. They make all their own confections right here in Folsom and they also have gluten free and vegan options. This is written during COVID when there are far fewer pleasures to look forward to in life. Thankfully, chocolate is still one of them, and there is no better place to satisfy your chocolate cravings during a pandemic (or anytime) than the locally-owned Chocolate Architect in the Palladio. It's an adorable little shop that had done a great job of adapting to the times., offering both takeout and delivery. I was walking through the area and stopped in on a whim - and I'm sure glad I did! They have a number of expertly-crafted chocolates for sale, but I'm a simple man whose favorite is usually just chocolate dipped strawberries. Everything from the rich chocolate to the sweet, perfectly ripe strawberries was divine. As if that weren't enough, they have wine and beer pairings and a number of great gifts for any occasion. Definitely worth checking out if you are anywhere in the Sacramento area and really enjoy some good chocolate! read more

Great staff and friendly service, always have samples and lots of options! My favorite is the butter beer silk!

Wow the chocolate is delicious and it is divine with a wine pairing. What a great place to relax and enjoy my two favorite loves in life. The shop is clean, organized and the counter person was extremely nice. We tasted the chili chocolate and chocolate mint. Wow The chili chocolate was pretty awesome and had a divine chocolatey, silky taste with a bite of chili at the end. The chocolate has a smooth texture and melts in your mouth. They offer a tray for $18.00 that consist of four wine tasting with four pieces of chocolate. The trays featured Red wine, white wine, Rose wine and champagne tray paired with four chocolates...They also have beer pairings and gift bags to go....How fun is that!!! They have a inside area to sit as well as outdoor seating. This place is definitely on my list to visit when I am in Folsom. read more

Yumm~O ! I was so happy to stumble upon this location. Its kinda in the corridor of the Palladio. If you blink you'll probably miss it and you dont want that. I had their silk chocolate, and it was incredible. The chocolate was decadent and not overly sweet, which is always the issue I seem to have. I consider their chocolate to be the best that I have ever tasted. They are very simple in their packaging but are more creative and adventurous in their flavors than some other high-end chocolatiers . The decor was nice lots of colors. I visited during the weekend. It might be festuve during the holidays! If your in the area a definite MUST !! I got the cookie Ice cream sandwich. These were just freshly put together so everything was soft . There is an area strictly for the 21 and over to sample wine and chocloate together, if you are into that. I am there to get my sweet cravings satisfied! read more

A bit disheartening honestly. I had heard great things about this place- one glimpse into the open back and I saw the manager/staff eating chocolate pieces with her bare hands, not washing them. Then assisting the other staff member with packaging the exact order that we waited 15 min for, even though there was no line. Even without a global pandemic, it's disgusting to see somebody who handles the food they are serving you eat out in the open with their hands, and not wash them. read more

Sampled the chocolate which was good so I bought ix pieces for around 13 dollars and was disappointed to find it tasted old and dry. I might as well have thrown 13 dollars away for that is what I did with the chocolate. Couldn't return it for I left the next day for Bay Area and then home to SoCal. It was a shame for it looks like a nice shop. read more

Recently we decided to try this place on one of our walks in Palladio. And were we surprised to say the least in the best way possible. This place offers rich silk chocolate that we have never tried before and man was it wonderful. In addition to the silk chocolate we ordered a sparkling wine flight that was paired with the silk chocolate that was simply outstanding. We would recommend this place to anyone that would like to have something refreshing on a hot summer day! Not to mention they give out free samples! GO try it! read more

Walked in for 2 minutes & walked right back out. There was 1 lady working there, no other customers. She saw us walk in and went straight to the back. We waited a couple minutes and she came back out and just looked at us. No greeting, no smile, no "I'll be right with you." You dont need to be overly friendly, but a simple "what can I get you?" would be nice. The shop is set up nicely though, the items do look good. But, I need a little more customer service if in paying for something. read more

If your looking for a chocolate fix during this mess of a quarantine, there's no need to continue that search. This adorable little shop is not only open but it's open for takeout and delivery! I was walking by and I figured that I needed to get a mocha, do to the long long line at Starbucks, I haven't had coffee in over a week so I decided to pop in and see what was on the menu. I ordered the silk chocolate mocha which was actually the best mocha I've had in a really long time. Then I ordered two strawberries and a few squares of chocolate to hold satisfy my cravings. I also got their chocolate covered strawberries! Everything was so flavor packed and my craving was completely satisfied. I met the owner and she was super nice! She explained all of the delivery options to me and how they work. They have assortments of baskets that make great gifts for someone special. They also have wine and beer parings to go with that chocolate. This is definitely a classy upscale option if your looking for yourself or a gift for someone special! I'm so happy to have found this place! I will defiantly be back the next time I'm in the area! read more

Never actually purchased anything from here, I'm reviewing this place solely based on an interaction my husband and I had with the owners while we were eating dinner next door at Buckhorn BBQ. We were sitting at the bar of Buckhorn before going to see a movie and sipping on some drinks. There was a man and a wife sitting close by to us at the bar and he placed several chocolates on a plate and passed them down to us to try. That got us talking and we discovered they owned the chocolate place next door! We gushed about how we'd been wanting to pop in for a wine/beer flight and some chocolate but we hadn't had the opportunity as I've had 2 babies in the past couple of years and the was one of our first nights out without the babies and with me not being pregnant. Had we not had a movie to catch, we'd have stopped in here on the spot. We were about to head out and the owner gave us a small couple bags of fudge to take with us to our movie. Cool people!!! I made $108 order from these people. I got 2 items back. I called them at the chocolate architect, this rather rude woman told me to call DoorDash. The woman on the phone was absolutely no help at all. If it wasn't for an agent on the app DoorDash, I wouldn't even be receiving what I am receiving back, Which is not a lot. To top it off, the driver left what's in the photo on my mailbox. The mailbox which is about an acre away. They were clear instructions to bring to the front door. I called the store and they were absolutely no help at all! read more
