Wonderful ice cream shop in Folsom. This was my second time visiting this store, as my first time was slightly inconvenienced. The owner, Santosh, was very helpful, communicative and accommodating to try to help find a solution to the minor issue at hand. My family owns a small business and it's so important to make sure your customers felt seen and heard, superior customer service goes a long way to having repeat customers and Santosh hit the nail on the head. I'm so glad that we were able to try their ice cream flavors as there was a good variety of unique and traditional flavors. This is a very definition of artisanal ice cream, rich and creamy. We had samples of the Sitaphal (sugar apple) and Pink Guava. It's very minimalist and welcoming on the inside. I, myself, enjoyed the mermaid/fish scale wall, something I would have picked myself! My family and I tried Umbrella Creamery for the first time today. We came around 8:30 pm and there were a few people but nothing too crazy. Everything was super clean and organized. The flavor selection was a great variety and you were able to try the different selections. Since we came with our two year old and newborn in her stroller, it was a bit difficult to get as many flavors as I originally wanted to try due to the line separation being super tight. Ultimately I got the mango chamoy paleta, which I originally came to try. My husband got the cookies and cream while my daughter got just plain vanilla with sprinkles. They both enjoyed their ice cream. The mango chamoy paleta was very fresh and I enjoyed tasting the real mango however the chile was a bit too spicy for my liking. I enjoy having more of the tanginess and acidity from the chamoy. Other positive things from my visit were the staff who were super friendly, cleanliness and plenty of parking spaces. Umbrella Creamery has lots of unique flavors. All their ice cream is made on site so it is fresh and tasty. There are lots of Indian deserts and flavors. I ordered the flight which provided 4 small scoops of the customer's choice. The flavors I chose were guava, baklava, chikoo, and paan. Guava was my favorite as it was not too sweet and had a strong guava flavor. The paan and chikoo were interesting as they were very unique flavors. The cost of the ice cream here is on the pricier side but there are many flavors and deserts that are uncommon. Tried this place on a whim since its next door to my favorite cheesesteak place in Folsom! Its a really awesome shop! The staff was friendly, they let you sample the flavors which is nice because they have a lot of exotic and delicious flavors! Its clean and inviting inside. On to the main event, the ice cream! Its smooth, creamy and delicious! Not overly sweet like some ice creams. I got two scoops on of the Chikoo and one of the ube cloud! My new favorite ice cream spot! The lady behind the counter was so nice and let me sample so so many flavors! I love all of the Asian flavors, so unique! I ended up going for a flight because so many of the flavors were so good! I had Ube Cloud, Cookies and Cream (best ever, the ice cream itself was Oreo flavored too), Gulab Jamun (the sweet cardamom flavor was so incredible), and Coconut Pandan (my standout favorite and it's vegan!!!). The table we sat at was clean and the decor is very cute. Mom got a falooda. She is gluten free so getting such a fun treat made her day! I saw this place had 4.9 stars on Yelp so far so figured to give it a try as it also seemed like this place just opened not too long ago. Walking in, there was a good amount of people eating their ice cream at the tables as well as a line of people waiting to get their ice creams. When looking at the flavors, I noticed the flavors were very unique compared to other ice cream places which I thought were very intriguing! We were able to try unlimited amount of samples before choosing what scoops we wanted. We ended up ordering a scoop of the Rose Affair, scoop of the Gulab, and scoop of the Pink Guava. My wife and I fortunately stumbled upon Umbrella Creamery yesterday after an appointment we had in Folsom, and we are so glad we did. My wife has both a dairy and gluten allergy, so finding good dessert options can be a challenge. For the second night in a row (yes, it was that good lol), Samantha took great care of us. She was incredibly informative and knowledgeable about the products, and her enthusiasm made the whole experience even better. When we didn't see the Vegan Chocolate we had yesterday she offered to look in the back to see if they had any left and also introduced us to another dairy and gluten free option, coconut. We added sliced almonds again, and while I can't tell you what heaven feels like, I can definitely tell you what it tastes like. We'll absolutely be back. Maybe even tomorrow. We tasted them at a Holi event in Folsom and were very impressed so decided to give the store a try. The store looks good. However there were a few things that I'd like to point out with the hope that they are corrected so that the business is successful. 1 - they do not have basic flavors such as vanilla and chocolate. 2 - the way the store is setup, they do not seem to be equipped to handle large crowds. We were waiting for a long time till some of the other folks were done sampling and ordering their stuff. 3 - while we were waiting, there was just one employee who was working. There was another person wearing a work shirt and seated at the table and loudly greeting when people were heading out. Apparently he was the owner, but instead of helping the staff to reduce the wait time for the crowd, this dude was playing boss while seating. 4 - the overall taste was pretty average for the sweet cream ice cream as well as the falooda. Faloooda was awesome at the Holi event. The mango ice cream was good though. Overall nothing that made us feel like we should come back, but her we will try them one more time before we write them off. read more

Normally I'm not the type to eat ice cream on a cold December day, but I was feeling a little rebellious so I walked in for an ice cream in 40 degree Fahrenheit weather. In any case, I tasted all of their premium options. One of the things I really liked was that the lady late me taste every unique flavor. Every one I tried wasn't too sweet and really let the creaminess and flavor take the wheel. In the end I ordered the Paan flavor, but I was torn between that and their Chikoo and Falooda flavors. Again, all of those flavors were unafraid to pop out, and not just hiding behind sweetness. Next time I go I'll be checking out their Kulfi and Paleta options. I almost opted for the same, however, I took one bite of my husband's and switched my order on the fly. Never in a million years would I order a pink guava ice cream... think again. It was heaven. So light and refreshing and not that typical guava aftertaste. I'm telling you it was probably the best ice cream I've had in my life, close tie to a place in Carmel. Anyhow, we got out in a homemade waffle cone. The cone was thick and perfectly made. The place was bright, clean, and well organized with plenty of nice tables, benches, and super comfy chairs. They had flavors like baklava, lemon sorbet, mango, rocky road, coffee, mint chip, some exotic fruits and things I couldn't pronounce, they all looked delicious. You just gotta go there.
