    Candy Caramel Tea
    Trish A.

Everyone who knows me understands I love Afternoon Tea. When I discovered the interesting location of Vampire Penguin in Palladio offered tea service I knew the family needed to immediately go. I made our reservation through their website. As a tech-savvy gal, this was not the most user friendly page, but I eventually figured it out and received my email confirmation. Terrific! As we were on our way, I wanted to confirm the time and only then did I realize the rezzie was for Sunday, not Saturday...nightmare! We decided to give it a go anyway. As I walked in, I was greeted by the owner, Roseanne and explained my dilemma. Like the superwoman she was, she accommodated our party of three and we were seated right away. SUPER GOLD STAR! During tea service, Vampire Penguin is transformed into a quaint tea room with beautifully decorated tables and a sign out from notifying customers of the change in their venue. We ordered the King & Queen Tea Service and the hostess, Erica, was gracious, accommodating, and very friendly. Their selection of teas is plentiful with terrific descriptions. Erica even helped me choose between two teas and her suggestion was spot on. The teas we selected were London High Tea for the MIL, the Hubster was delighted with Key Lime Pie, and I ordered Candy Caramel (if you love the flavor of Carmel apples look no further). Service began with a toasted crumpet including butter and jam. A very yummy and different way for us to have started tea. We all agreed, however, it was a winner. Our lovely tiered service featured assorted sandwiches, scones, fresh strawberries and cream, and a beautiful dessert. This was a LOT of food, prepared deliciously and beautifully. The best part is that we had some treats to bring home to snack on later when our very happy bellies are hungry again! Thank you Roseanne and Erica for going above and beyond. Thank you for having a lovely tea room so close to home. I KNOW we will return soon...and I will ensure the next visit to double check the date! If you are looking for a lovely afternoon, an elegant date place, a girlfriend or bridal party, or something different to do...go to their website and make your reservation for Afternoon Tea at Vampire Penguin in Palladio, you can thank me later!

Color changing tea when you put lemon on it

Parking- Get there as early as you can, especially on weekends, to secure a good spot. The restaurant is in an outdoor shopping center, which can be busy at times. They do have overflow parking in the back, which was not a bad walk. I chose this afternoon tea restaurant specifically because it offers vegan options for an extra charge. You book your reservation online, and they will email you to confirm it. The response was fairly quick. I reserved for two Royal Tea which was $58/person with the $6 charge for one vegan option. Our reservation was at 2 PM. We arrived promptly, and our table was already set. I took my goddaughter here for her 16th birthday and wanted her to experience something new. We were seated and given the tea menu, from which we could choose two different tea selections per person. I chose the Japan Genmaicha and the Darjeeling Estate. My goddaughter chose the Pretty in Pink and the Butterfly pea flower. Honestly, I enjoyed all four teas we chose. The butterfly pea flower was really cool, especially when you squeeze the lemon because it changes color. Adding honey to any of the teas was also really good, as it adds a nice, sweet note. The first meal we had was a small pancake, which I found very tasty. They had a vegan option for this as well and offered vegan butter. That first dish was really good. The next dish was a salad, served with a vinaigrette dressing on the side. Then our mini bites tower was served. One thing I would say about the food tower is that I wish they'd separate the vegan from the non-vegan food. It was honestly hard to tell which was vegan and which wasn't. I wasn't sure if this was something I could've requested, but this was the reason I gave 4 stars. Also, because the server had to switch one of the scones at the last minute to a vegan one, they gave us a regular scone. I really loved the quiche and the chicken croissant. After the second tower, we were both so full that we couldn't get to the dessert and had to bring it home. All the mini bites were really good, and we enjoyed them all. If you have any dietary restrictions, make sure you request that it be placed on a separate plate. One other thing that brought my rating down to four stars is the service. They need at least 2 servers to handle the afternoon tea. They only had one, and she was handling about five or six tables and doing all the teas and mini bites, literally by herself. They should have two people so they can split responsibilities. Having a single server handle everything was not feasible. All in all, my goddaughter and I had an amazing time here. We enjoyed our meal and our experience. The price point was really good as well. We will definitely be visiting again.

12/13/2025: VP Tea Room's gorgeous interior! My first-born daughter and I decided chilling at VP after an unsatisfactory Hanguk meal experienced at uh-hem~OZ=ANI MOGO! We decided inhaling a desert here since, the deserts are far more appetizing and appealing to our traumatized olfactory and palates.

Nicely decorated immaculate decor and the staff was wonderful

Holy Cow! I hadn't been to a Vampire Penguin in nearly a decade, but the Folsom (Palladio) location reminded me exactly why I loved it. The shop is bright, welcoming, and has a beautifully decorated tea room that adds a touch of elegance and whimsy to the whole space. It's the kind of place that makes you want to plan a huge tea party for your loved ones. We ordered the Twix and the Strawberry Cheesecake shaved snow, and both were absolute showstoppers. The presentation was picture-perfect, and the texture of the shaved snow was so light and airy it practically melted the moment it touched our tongues. Each bite was layered with fresh, flavorful toppings that made it almost impossible to put the spoon down. Between the charming setting and the unforgettable desserts, this visit was pure delight from start to finish. Five stars all the way!

Aerial view of our table set up. The tea set is adorable!

Very easy to book a reservation and Super cute setup. The tea sets were so pretty. The food was great and so were the portions. I took my nieces here to experience a true tea party. They learned lots of table and dining etiquette, but mostly the etiquette of pouring their own cup of tea and doctoring it up. We had a blast and lots of food to take home. There was a total of 4 adults and 2 kids, we had 1 pot of tea for the kids and 2 for all of the adults to share. We were happy with all of our tea selections. This would be a great place for a light brunch or birthday party! Definitely would recommend!

I've never had shaved ice like this before it was a great experience service was a little slow but we got there after tea time its understandable! Ambiance was so good I like the environment how its all purple and lots of flowers! I recommend coming out here especially a hot day!

Had the Royal Tea experience at Vampire Penguin today and it was exquisite! The table setting was absolutely adorable, the tea was phenomenal (highly recommend the Rooibos cotton candy) and the food was crave worthy. To top it off our server, Erica, was attentive and made certain our experience was perfect I'm already looking forward to going back with my daughter.

Came for their afternoon tea. Was ok, nothing special. Food wasn't great. The sandwiches were all kinda average. I didn't eat any of the cheesecakes or scones. Didn't look the freshest. But the set up was super cute. Super cute tea sets.

My husband surprised me and took me here for king and queen high tea and I had the BEST time! The service was phenomenal here! She was so so sweet and accommodating. The decor and cleanliness was unmatched. There really isn't a place like this one. The pretty in pink tea was my absolute favorite! The sandwiches were fresh and desserts were so tasty. I had zero complaints about anything! I will DEFINITELY be back!

    Kylie C.

Super cute place! Staff was very sweet and helpful, it was valentine's day so I feel like they were a bit stressed and disorganized when it came to cleaning and putting the tables together on time. We did have to wait to sit so they could set our table up. Other than that the tea is delicious. The food was yummy very average finger foods not disappointed though! Very beautiful dishes and everything was clean!

    Gurleen B.

Went there for high tea which was a great experience. Loved the ambience and the decor. The service was great and I will definitely be going again for more high tea

After a very disappointing high tea experience elsewhere, I really wanted to redeem the idea of treating my mom to a proper afternoon tea and Vampire Penguin High Tea absolutely delivered. From the moment we arrived, you could tell this was going to be different. Everything felt thoughtful and intentional. The food was genuinely delicious not just pretty to look at. The truffle egg sandwiches and ham and cheese were standouts, and they even made a lovely veggie option for my mom without hesitation. The tea itself was exactly what you hope for in a true high tea experience high-quality loose leaf teas with a great selection. You can really taste the difference. And the scones... finally, real scones. Paired with clotted cream, they were rich, soft, and just right. We also started with warm, crispy crumpets that were such a treat and honestly set the tone for the whole experience. What made it even better was knowing everything is baked and prepared fresh the same day. You can taste that care in every bite. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole afternoon feel even more special. If you're looking for a proper high tea experience that actually lives up to the idea this is it.

They had delicious strawberries, grapes, and some unidentifiable canned orange fruit (mango? peach?). It was a bit unusual but fine. Overall, the bingsoo hit the spot but not spectacularly. Let me save you some time…read more.. If they have the dole whip pineapple yogurt available, just know I'm no longer making responsible adult decisions--I'm operating purely off joy and childhood nostalgia. This place is dangerous in the best possible way. OMG Yogurt is one of the only spots around here that has that pineapple dole whip magic that instantly teleports you straight to Disneyland... minus the $27 churro, the 45-minute wait, and a toddler in Lightning McQueen Crocs cutting you in line. I was just out minding my business, cruising around like a peaceful citizen, when I thought, "You know what? It's nice outside... I deserve a little frozen happiness." And boom--next thing you know I'm walking into OMG Yogurt like I'm reporting for duty. First thing I noticed? The place was clean, bright, and dialed in. Staff greeted me right away and asked if I needed anything, which was very sweet... but respectfully, once I saw that dole whip pineapple, I spiritually left my body. I was no longer available for questions. I grabbed my cup and got straight to work. And by "work," I mean I loaded that yogurt up with toppings like I had a personal vendetta against moderation. At that point it stopped being frozen yogurt and became a full-blown architectural project. No notes. No regrets. Just excellence in a cup. This place gets packed during the summer and honestly... good. It should. When the Roseville heat starts acting like it has personal beef with everybody, this is exactly the kind of place you want to end up in. What I really love is that even when it's busy, the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and patient. Nobody is rushing you while you stand there pretending to "carefully choose toppings" when really you've already decided you're about to do too much. In all, this spot is a summer MVP. If you need a little cold happiness, a sugar-fueled mood boost, or just want to pretend you're at Disneyland without refinancing your house... this is the move. That dole whip pineapple yogurt? Absolutely slapped.
