Very nice staff. Cute decor. Loved the island inspired music. Had a croissant breakfast sandwich and house coffee. Both were really good and decent price. Just under $11 total. The coffee was from a pump carafe station. And it wasn't super hot, but that's how I like it. I know if I would've come with somebody else who likes it super hot they would've been a slightly disappointed by the temperature. I did get here just before noon so I'm sure the coffee might've been hotter earlier in the morning. Plenty of seating around this time of day and they provide Wi-Fi in the café. I would like to takeoff half a star only because I do think the coffee could've been warmer and also the temperature of the room was rather warm. Another customer even mentioned it when he walked in. On one hand, I'm grateful that I wasn't getting frozen like some coffee shops, but on the other hand halfway through my coffee, I felt myself sweating a little bit. However, I did not mention to anyone that my coffee was a little lukewarm and although a different customer mentioned it was a bit warm in the coffee shop. I didn't mention it. I'm not a big fan of the Kona blend game cause it's kinda scammy but they had a hot brew sample of Kona blend that was decent. They have all the flavors for Italian sodas and that's what caught my attention. I ordered a strawberry soda and it was so good!! Creamy sweet and carbonated goodness! Really nice touch on a hot day. My husband and I ate at the ramen place across the parking lot & I love trying new coffee shops so we decided to stop in here before continuing our drive home. I ordered an iced macadamia nut latte. It's not on the menu, but it was a seasonal drink I saw on yelp and when I asked about it the lady said she could still make it because they had the syrup available. After my first sip, I tasted the burnt/bitterness of the coffee. I asked for more pumps of syrup in case that's what the issue was.. it wasn't. Unfortunately I couldn't finish the drink. read more

We came here before we headed home to the bay one morning, believe it was the day after 4th of July. I decided to get one of their coffee smoothies that is similar to starbuck's javachip. When I paid I was shocked to see it being close to $10. I also ordered a hot coffee, forgot which one, for my husband which had less sugar (forgot what alternative we used but it wasn't full sugar/cream). The drinks came out fairly quickly. To be honest, the coffee smoothie was OK. It tasted really sweet and didn't have much of a coffee taste. I was surprised it cost quite a bit for something that didn't really taste to my liking. Personal preference. The workers were friendly and parkin was ample. My husband thought his coffee tasted a little funny with the less sugar. Friend & I decided to go shopping in Folsom this morning but needed some caffeine, did a quick search and found this gem of a coffee house! There's plenty of parking outside which is always a plus for me and the inside was beautifully decorated. I am so glad we came here because our drinks were delicious and the service was not only fast but also super friendly. I wish I got the name of the girl who took our order because she was super nice and helped us pick out our drinks! My friend got the Tropicali soda which she loved and I got a cold brew coffee with brown sugar mixed in and a hazelnut soft foam. Literally the best drink I ever had! I've stopped into Big Wave Coffeehouse many times now and I've been trying to order something new every time. There's plenty of parking available in the lot and they have a few outdoor seats as well as very comfortable and welcoming indoor seating. I've enjoyed their coffee drinks as well as the sodas and I love adding the cream on top of the sodas. If you don't know what to order the staff members can let you know about some favorites or some new combinations they've been working on. They're working on expanding their food options and I'll keep stopping in to see what's new. Check their Instagram for special events and activities as well. Refreshing beverages served with Aloha [Folsom CA] Came back a second time on a Saturday afternoon. This time the coffeehouse was full, unlike during our first visit at the Yelp event. It was a triple digit weekend so I ordered something refreshing and got a strawberry smoothie with whipped cream. I sat out in their outdoor seating, nice and shaded and currently enjoying the 85° weather with a slight breeze. Service was fast and friendly, just like how it was at my first experience from the wife owner during our Yelp event. Cute interior with hints of tropical decor. I loved my Mocha Java Rush with oat milk. The XL is truly extra large. Next time, I think I would order just a Medium. I also loved my $6 English Muffin Sandwich with Bacon. You could also choose Sausage, instead of Bacon. This is a super yummy sandwich for breakfast. No ketchup, but you can choose from 4 Creason hot sauces: Datil, Cayenne, Jalapeno, and Habanero. The Jalapeno hot sauce was tasty. Hot sauces are available for purchase for $10. The coffeehouse's theme is Hawaiian because her husband is from Hawaii. They visit Hawaii annually to see family. She recently returned from Kauai, hand packing a few bags of premium 100% Kauai Peaberry coffee to sell to her customers requesting it. She says she's not even making a profit from it. How very sweet and thoughtful of her! A peaberry is a smaller bean than a typical coffee bean. At the end of the day, she let me have a taste of it...so smooth! I also learned that for a coffee to be labeled Kona coffee, it only has to contain a minimum of 10% Kona coffee beans. Mindy is from the state of Washington. Her goal is to create a coffeehouse similar to those found in Washington, which offer ambiance, food, and a huge drink menu, including energy drinks and drinks other than coffee. However, when I tried to connect to their free wifi, it just won't let me (despite entering the correct password provided). - Iced Tuxedo: good coffee. This is far from your standard Starbucks coffee shop! Whenever I'm in Folsom, I'll be sure to stop by. It's located across from Mel's Diner and has plenty of parking. Some parking spots offer plenty of shade. I was lucky to find a spot right up front. I noticed lots of Hawaiian inspired decor. They even have a Hawaiian word of the day! The workers were friendly and helpful here! There's plenty of coffee, sodas, red-bull infused drinks; along with desserts and small bites to choose from. I tried what I believe was a strawberry coconut drink. This was recommended from a worker and it was just what I needed. I noticed some games like tic-tac-toe and connect 4 on tables. They even had newspapers! If you needed to get some work done, there are plenty of seats and wifi to help with that. This coffeehouse is a whole Big Wave vibe! I love how big this place is. It's eye catching how tall it is and every time I drive on Blue Ravine Rd, I've seen it and wanted to try it. I saw this coffee shop on Good Day Sacramento when Julissa Ortiz went to visit and support this great business. I love the transformation from Cooper Coffeehouse to Big Wave Coffeehouse. I want to go back to try breakfast sandwiches and Ono drinks. When I did go, I tried the iced matcha which was very sweet so if you like sweet and matcha, you'll love this! I also had a guava strawberry pastry and I highly recommend this. I love how the barista informed me ahead of time of the matcha being sweet. These baristas know exactly what they are doing and I appreciate them informing customers of their products! Parking is very easy as there is a parking lot right outside the shop. They offer inside and outdoor seating which is nice. I also LOVE the decor and artwork inside. This vibe makes me feel like I'm in Hawaii and we can all use more aloha in Sactown. read more

Hubs and I are huge coffee snobs and we both were disappointed in our very first visit today. Service is fine, the barista was quick to take our order. I ordered a small half sweet lavender and white chocolate latte, and he ordered a medium half sweet iced caramel latte. The expresso was bitter on both of our drinks and tasted really watered down like they poured the shots directly over the ice. The amount of ice in our drinks were so little and our drinks came out warm, one stir and all of my ice completely melted. I did not finish even a third of my small latte :/. They use Torani syrups which I'm not a big fan of, but there are a plethora of flavors to choose from if that's what you're into. It's a pass for me. The lobby is cute though and they had Hawaiian music playing to bring the place together. read more

Pros: delicious drinks and desserts, friendly staff, and a great spot to hangout, work, meet up with friends, etc. Cons: this is the only location and it's in Folsom, which is far from me ): I tried the butterfinger blended mocha and it was good. The flavor was on point and it was refreshing to drink on a hot day. I also tried the house made creme brulee bar dessert. I like that there's a variety of unique desserts that you can't get just anywhere and it was delicious - not too sweet. They're at the end of the shopping center with many parking spaces in front of the shop. My first visit here was for an event organized by Yelp! I return regularly and have the rewards connected to my phone, so I get a notification every time I earn points. Free stuff is for me! My daughter loves the chocolate chip blended drink, and I love a caramel latte. The decor is modern and beautiful. There is a little retail area for souvenirs as well as coffee beans to purchase and free grinds to take home for your garden! The owners are usually around to chat with. The coffee has a unique flavor that you will come to love, it's addicting and it's not the caffeine since I get decaf! I will venture out soon and try some other flavors. I've driven by here a few times but had no idea they have a Hawaiian inspired menu, not to mention they sell Kalani Kakes baked goods here! I highly recommend you check out their Instagram before coming in, so you can get some ideas for drinks that aren't necessarily on the standard menu. That's how I decided to try their matcha latte with ube cold foam, and it was delicious! The matcha latte itself was mixed so well and not a speck of matcha powder in sight. The ube cold foam was light and fluffy and you could still taste it through the matcha flavor. And not to mention it was a pretty looking drink! I was super tempted to order a second drink but decided to save it for next time. I want to try their Hawaiian Ono cream sodas! I had a guava muffin with my drink and it was filled generously with guava jam. Kalani Kakes is the perfect small business bakery for this shop because they focus on a lot of Hawaiian island flavors. Service was great, they were super friendly to us and other customers coming through. They would walk our drinks and food over to us whenever something was ready too. One of my favorite coffee spots in Folsom :) Parking is easy as they are located within a shopping plaza with a large parking lot. I'm sure it can get busy during peak weekend hours but I usually find parking right away. There is plenty of seated inside with some high counters, smaller and large tables, and some couches with a coffee table as well as small outdoor seating area. I've come here twice with another mom and her baby as they are very family friendly and able to fit two strollers without getting in the way if you sit sat at the couches or outside). Without a stroller, it's easier to sit anywhere inside without interfering with the line or people waiting for their drinks. We love the family friendly and chill atmosphere/vibe. Service was always quick and friendly. The coffee and drinks are consistently quick, fresh, and yummy. I usually opt for just drip or black coffee and my husband usually orders something "fancier" or sweet. We are always satisfied with our orders. read more

Sometimes, I'll create my own, and others, I'll grab one of their signature drinks. For food, they have everything from bagels to breakfast burritos, brownies, oatmeal, scones, and yogurt. My parents moved to the area recently so I've been trying to help my mom find new coffee locations not far from their place. This was the first location we tried and have now been here a handful of times. I enjoy the space and decor. I like that they have a large size that is actually a large size drink. That may sound strange, but I've been to some places where the large size was hardly large at all. Big Wave actually even has an extra large size available! They have plenty of flavor options that can be added to your coffee drinks such as almond flavor, Irish Cream, Hazelnut, and many many more!
