Me and my wife wanted to try The Folsom Cafe (we loved Reset the previous coffee shop) and we ordered coffee and avocado toast We told them it's for here not to go because we wanted to experience the atmosphere that they kept bragging on social media First the barista brought the coffee in a paper cup and we waited 20 minutes for the food (How long does it take to make an avocado toast?) Then one of the waitress props the front door open without asking if we are cold (it was very cold outside because it was 10 am) our table was just by the door I had to get up and close it At one point we were ready to leave without the food because the whole experience was not great The avocado toast was not great either (not enough avocado) So sorry for the owners because they are nice but the employees need some training read more

The Folsom Café is a great spot. I always get the avocado toast it's delicious and a good portion, definitely worth it. Next time I'll have to branch out and try something else because all the food that comes out of the kitchen looks really good. They also have a solid coffee selection depending on what you like. The espresso is smooth, and my go to, the Americano, is always on point. This has become one of my new stopping points when I'm out cycling. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the customer service is always nice and pleasant. It's just one of those places that makes you want to slow down, enjoy your food, and take a break. Such a lovely atmosphere. The salad and sandwich were so delightful. And the servers were very sweet and patient with us.

The two girls working were very nice. I ordered a gluten free sandwich (didn't know they offered gluten free bread!) and they were out of stock. Everybody was really nice. The food was really good and fresh. I appreciate how clean the restaurant and the bathroom was.

Their service is friendly, and the atmosphere is cool. Sometimes it gets kind of busy, but they do their best to keep it moving.

Had lunch here today and the remake of this shop is working well. The iced green was pleasant. Bacon grilled cheese was a bit more expensive than expected, but hit the spot. Note, you can get grilled cheese with tomato soup which my friend enjoyed. The best part of lunch was a delightfully good tomato bruschetta. Balance of flavors were just right. The beefy tomato cuts were perfect. Liking the subtly mint green new paint inside. Good amount of indoor seating. A few nice sized tables under shade outside for when the weather is warmer will be most welcome. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable with the new menu. My husband and I went there last night. He had a roast beef with blue cheese sandwich, it was delicious and I don't like blue cheese. The bread was so fresh and the condiments they used were so complimentary. I had a Caesar salad with chicken that hit the spot. I had a glass of Christopher Chardonnay that was delicious. It was an underwhelming experience. The inside was drab, and there were only a couple of other people there. I got the grilled cheese sandwich. It was good, but it was small for what you pay for. (They don't have french fries here.) The only sweet baked item they had was chocolate chip cookies. I went on a cold, rainy day. My companion and I sat at the table by the door, to look out the window, but unfortunately, one of the workers propped the door open, letting the freezing air disturb our meal. Love coming to this Cafe., it's a great place to study. Their drinks are delicious and their food is to die for. The baristas and chef are very welcoming and nice. My friend and I came here for breakfast. We both had the avocado toast. Pickled onions and feta cheese made it so delicious that I had to order another one. My friend and I were walking by this lovely cafe and coffee shop on our way out of town and two employees provided samples. We were hooked; they use Chocolate Fish Coffee! And Old Soul baked goods! The people were lovely, and the decor is very nice, fresh flowers on every table with dark blue leather tufted bench seating in the front, tables outside and this super cute private seating area for four with blue wingbacks. I really wish I wasn't writing this review right now, but I felt like it has to be said. The folsom cafe has been my favorite go to spot for the past 2 months. Anytime the topic of meeting at a coffee shop came up with one of my friends or coworkers, I ALWAYS vouched for this cafe. The noise level is low, the ambiance is comforting, and for the most part the drinks were up to par. After today, I have decided that I will not be returning. After a morning run & a Saturday stroll through the folsom farmers market, my friend & I decided we would grab an açaí bowl before heading into the cafe to crack down on our studying. The cafe was completely empty upon walking in and we were the only customers. Upon sitting at my favorite spot, in front of the makeshift fire place, I opened my laptop and my friend opened up her textbook. We were there for approximately 20 minutes before Angelica walked up to us and said "If you guys are going to sit in a prime area and use our wifi, then you need to buy something or you need to leave". I simply asked in return "Does the same apply if I am using my own hotspot?" and she said "yes". Without hesitation, we packed our books and left. Now I totally understand a businesses needs and respect the fact that customers are there to be consumers, but that does not excuse the demeanor in which we were approached. To give a little backstory, I am the type of person to sit at a coffee shop & get in a little chunk of work done prior to rewarding myself to a beverage/pastry to get my productivity going. With that said, instead of offering to take our order or ask if we planned on purchasing anything- we were immediately given the ultimatum to buy or leave. Which I found extremely upsetting given the fact that there was also another nice lady sitting in the cafe, that had just unpacked her whole lunch that she had also purchased from outside without purchasing anything from the cafe. Now I really do hate pulling the race card, because I believe we can all be friendly individuals. But I couldn't help but feel a little hurt that my friend & I (both young brown women) were given the immediate ultimatum when there was a caucasian women also doing the same across the cafe. Very displeased with the service. I just moved here for college and decided to give this place a try. There was a big dead fly in my bacon grilled cheese. I may also add that the bread tasted stale, like it had been left out. I had already taken 3 bites of my food and I immediately threw the sandwich away.
