Then Jamie came to the rescue. She welcomed me like an old friend, sat me down with a steaming cup of coffee, and brought out the most incredible garlic shrimp this side of the Gulf--perfectly warm, perfectly garlicky, with just enough spice to remind you life is worth living. Within minutes of the cozy bar, I had thawed out, cheered up, and gone from storm victim to happy customer. I may have even hugged Jamie in gratitude. Needless to say, I'll be back soon--with a whole band of hungry friends in tow. The Vine doesn't just serve tapas... they rescue rainy days.

The inside is clean, there's bar seating, tables, a small couch area, and seats in the window if you wanna people watch. The wine we tried was really good, I really liked their more tart white wines and the sparkling blue champagne. The inside was also nice and air conditioned which helped with the hot weather outside. The day we went they weren't serving any food outside of salads but the food portion of their menu looked pretty good. This place was super cute and I'd definitely come again!

I heard about Williamette from a friend and a group of use decided to try the wines and ordered appetizers from Scott's. The wine and food pair wonderfully together. This is delicious Oregon wine. Who knew Oregon had such a fantastic wine? It's definitely up there and not to be slept on for sure. I ordered the Owner's flight which were Pinot Noir's they were amazing . We got 2 bottle of Blossom one was a Rose which I highly recommend and the other I can't remember, but it was so refreshing. The tasting room is beautiful and spacious. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Chantel and Jen were amazing very friendly and accommodating. They are the best!! Before I left I did end up purchasing a bottle of Late harvest Riesling and bottle of sparkling Muscat. If you never been you have got to check them out. It's a great experience for sure. :)

I wasn't sure if that's standard at some restaurants when you note a birthday on the reservation, but it was my first time experiencing that. I briefly considered asking about it, but it felt awkward in the moment, so I just paid for it and didn't make an issue of it. The menu says all beers are $5 on Thursday all day. We figured it was perfect for what we needed. We settled into a corner that was near the salon, as there was no other seating inside. Did I mention the comfortable furniture? Well, it's a good thing it was comfortable. We sat for nearly an hour, waiting to have our order taken. The first two of us to arrive we're given some water to drink, but myself, and the other straggler were never offered water. During this time we got to experience the...ahem... aroma of the salon next-door. Peroxide and other hair products don't usually lead to an appetite. We decided to wait it out. And wait we did. After nearly an hour, the one employee who appeared to be working today, came to take our order. My friend ordered a glass of wine and she told him that they were out of that one, so he chose another option. I then ordered a beer, and she started to leave the table. Somehow she hadn't seen that there were 4 of us? Friend who had been ignored quickly said , 'and I'LL HAVE ..." to get the server's attention, and then ordered a glass of wine, while our final friend ordered a beer. There was a buffalo cauliflower appetizer on the menu, and we ordered it for the table. The server arrived after a few minutes with one glass of wine, which she sat in front of me, and a beer which she placed in front of my friend. We assumed that she had just mixed up the two of us, so we traded, and I took a sip of my beer. She then came back with another glass of wine. She started to leave and told us to let her know if there was anything else we needed, so we reminded her that we had another beer and an appetizer coming. This is when she told me that the beer that I had ordered was one that they were out of. I held up the one in my hand and said oh, is this not mine? Since we had already waited an hour, my friend just took the beer that I had sipped from, and I waited while she went to get me my new order. When we were nearly done with our drinks, our appetizer finally arrived. It was all we could do to keep from laughing out loud. That was the smallest possible plate with the smallest possible amount of cauliflower on it. A handful, but not an adult handful. Well, maybe Bernadette from Big Bang Theory, but not an average sized adult hand. For four people. You would think she would have told us that it was small and we might want more than one for the table. Honestly, I would've wanted more than one for just myself. To their credit, the cauliflower did taste good. Good thing the salon smells had ruined our appetite. We waited again and finally got our check. They had charged us for one glass of wine, the overpriced $12 handful of cauliflower, and two beers. However, the advertised five dollar happy hour price for the beer was not reflected on the check. She had charged us seven dollars each for the beers. We called this to her attention when we went to the counter to pay, as well as the fact that she had not charged us for one of our glasses of wine. She said "oh yeah. I did that to make up for the beer. We're not doing that anymore. We don't have happy hour on Thursday anymore." It seemed to have escaped her that you can't list something on the menu at a certain price and then charge a different price. Overall, they get one star for comfy couches. We won't be back.
