Our first and certainly not last visit to Crystal Basin Station in Historic Folsom! We joined their wine club a few years back after a super fun Yelp Elite event including a behind the scenes tour and opportunity to make our own blend of red wine. It had been a while since we took delivery of our club shipment so we decided to check out their "new" (to us) tasting room in Old Folsom. Plus, we were lured by the Mourvedre flight offering. Loved this prime location! Not sure what - you know, besides a global pandemic - took us so long! We'll definitely be back.

After walking by the river or going on a walk by the American River a relaxing place to go to cool down and have great wine is Crystal Basin Station. Now they have a charcuterie board . If your hungry good for 2 but really built for more. My husband is a big fan of the bread. Cheers

    Taste!

They have amazing wine here and they do have your bites like appetizers but that is served from Scott's Seafood roundhouse which they do bring it upstairs to you when you order it. . I really like their mushroom pate which was really yummy. Also it comes with some grilled bread and you can do a yummy spread on it. . We also got there dozen of oysters which was really refreshing and comes with some Mingonete. . We also got an order of their calamari which was a generous portion and deep fried crispy to Perfection and seasoned well with a really nice dip too. . We got to try out their sparkling bubble and their Pinot red flight. Everything was really tasty and I highly recommend it if you are looking to taste good wine here and do food pairing too. . The inside Ambiance is very cozy and I love the fire pit and they even have a outdoor balcony with the view of the historic Folsom District. The service was very friendly and warm and welcoming. Chantel is the one to go to and she was our server. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading and have a yelpastic day.

I heard about Williamette from a friend and a group of use decided to try the wines and ordered appetizers from Scott's. The wine and food pair wonderfully together. This is delicious Oregon wine. Who knew Oregon had such a fantastic wine? It's definitely up there and not to be slept on for sure. I ordered the Owner's flight which were Pinot Noir's they were amazing . We got 2 bottle of Blossom one was a Rose which I highly recommend and the other I can't remember, but it was so refreshing. The tasting room is beautiful and spacious. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Chantel and Jen were amazing very friendly and accommodating. They are the best!! Before I left I did end up purchasing a bottle of Late harvest Riesling and bottle of sparkling Muscat. If you never been you have got to check them out. It's a great experience for sure. :)

We invited friends and family for an afternoon tasting, grabbed lunch from the café next door, and expected a warm local winery experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing tasting room visits we've had. The biggest issue was the complete lack of hospitality and awareness toward an older woman in our group recovering from knee surgery. There was no accommodation, no concern, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Instead of any table service or attentiveness, we repeatedly had to get up and walk inside the tasting room over and over for every single pour. By the end of the tasting, we got more steps in than a cattle drive. The two ladies working behind the counter looked like they were counting the minutes until closing time. No smiles. No energy. No effort to educate us about the wines, engage with guests, or make anyone feel welcome. We honestly felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did. This tasting experience had less warmth than a steel feed trough in January. Mad Cow Review Rating: -- Two Bulls Down Great opportunity. Terrible hospitality. Would've had a better customer experience being licked by a pasture cow.
