We were genuinely excited to finally try Casque Wines since it's practically right around the corner from our family property on acreage nearby. We invited friends and family for an afternoon tasting, grabbed lunch from the café next door, and expected a warm local winery experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing tasting room visits we've had. The biggest issue was the complete lack of hospitality and awareness toward an older woman in our group recovering from knee surgery. There was no accommodation, no concern, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Instead of any table service or attentiveness, we repeatedly had to get up and walk inside the tasting room over and over for every single pour. By the end of the tasting, we got more steps in than a cattle drive. The two ladies working behind the counter looked like they were counting the minutes until closing time. No smiles. No energy. No effort to educate us about the wines, engage with guests, or make anyone feel welcome. We honestly felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did. A good stop on the placer wine trail, charming location with a pond and a cafe behind. The wines here are all pretty good. I enjoyed my tasting and the Lox Bagel I got from the Farm Cafe was like a meal not a snack. So delicious. The two ladies that were working was super sweet. Went here for the first time this week after being recommended from a couple friends. The setting is very nice but it went from being a decent start to being my worst winery experience ever in 35 years of wine tasting. First off I am not an unreasonable individual and know that people fall short of the mark at times but when some treats my wife like a tennie bopper I have an issue. They berated her and acted like she was trying to get a free tasting which was the last of our desires since we could easily afford every bottle of wine they ever made. But to treat us as if we were trying to pull one off for a messily 5$ worth of wine and get something over on them is pathetic. I will NEVER cross their threshold again. For a $15 tasting fee you truly get a wonderful assortment of wines to try. The tasting room is so cute and the outdoor area is beautiful with fire pits in the winter and misters in the summer. My parents are wine club members here and we feel like the wine keeps getting better and better each year. I've been to Casque Wines Tasting Room two times now and this is a popular spot! Both times I've visited each table has been full on their patio area, which speaks volumes. Seating is a first come/first serve basis and they do not take reservations. The patio is right next to a pond. The patio seating includes many firepits, which is nice for the cooler fall and winter months. They specialize in Bordeaux and Rhone style wines, which all come from the Sierra Foothills. Tastings are $15 per person and include a pour of 8 wines (4 whites and 4 reds). Wine is also available for purchase by the glass or bottle. This is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine as the ambiance is so nice. Many of their wines have won awards by Wine Enthusiast. My favorite wine was the Petite Sirah for it's complexity. You can order food from Flower Farms Café next door and enjoy this with your wine tasting. They are also dog friendly, which is always a-okay in my book! read more

First time here. There are tables and chairs outside. You have to go inside to the counter to move on to the next variety. The tasting is $15 a person, but there's no credit if you buy a bottle there's a cute little shop next-door and a restaurant behind the wines are really good ranging from $26-$38 a bottle. Service was genuine and engaging as I asked several questions about a couple wines wanting to know a bit more about a couple. My favorite was the popular one... Vin Gris.... It's their Rose that is made from Barbera. Great flavor, not overly sweet tasting, light bodied but had lovely flavors from start to finish. Easily what I would call a Summer Porch Pounder because you don't need food to enjoy it. You can order food from Flower Farm next door and enjoy a meal with your wine. So, I like this place a lot more than I thought I would. They were super busy and didn't think they could serve us, but tucked us in. Took a while and was about to leave but the sever came by. Anyway, was kinda in a meh mood, but then the wine came and I was pretty surprised. They have a few 90-92 point wines and they were floral and rich. Really good finish and not too heavy. I really liked their Cabernet, it's too bad they won't make it following this year. The staff was nice and gave me a secret pour of the Cabernet Franc. Screw Napa and their ridiculous prices! You can get food and beer at the restaurant next door. And there is a nice gift shop. Dog friendly. Elena left a lasting impression on my party and me; not only did she welcome us into this beautiful little tasting room with a sincere smile, she knew how to describe each of their wines offered while navigating us through our tasting journey. We ended up leaving with a few bottles of Petite Syrah, as our favorites are usually fruit forward, low tannin, deep, jammy flavors. This is the cutest little winery ever! It has such a great vibe! Beautiful property with flowers all over. The salads are delicious here...I just wish they had a better charcuterie board...it looked like they just threw whatever on a board. One white that's a chill-seeking Viognier (and a winner that I took home) and the rest are smooth, warming reds. (I love the Adrian, and regret not taking her home with me. I said her.) The guys behind the counter love talking about the wines, and they enthrall you with their lore. Yet this is the one place, as much as I like talking, that I might prefer just to sit out in the beautiful back, on the patio spread. Sure, it's full of poke-my-sole pebbles, but it's still just marvelous, and there's flowers, and there's a natural breeze, and gosh darn it, Loomis, California is kind of a lovely place I want to be back at. 4.5 Stars. #sincerity read more

We went here when we moved here about a year ago. I remember the tasting fee being closer to $10, I'd check the website. They have one large table inside if you have a large group, which we had 6. We were a little disappointed in the interaction during the tasting. We had just come from Rock Hill winery, who recommended that we come here. The owner talked with us and the three other large groups the entire time. At Casque, five tastings are allotted in the tasting fee. We were interested in purchasing a few bottles and asked to revisit two from the beginning to chose. We received questionable expressions from the people doing the pouring. It didn't appear welcomed to try, perhaps they didn't want us to purchase wine? The grounds and neighboring business and very cute and quaint. In summary, if you have a small group that's under about 4 people and you want to sit outside or inside and not have much interaction, this would be the place for you. If you admire the atmosphere from wine tasting and the communication from those pouring, you should probably go elsewhere. read more

Nice day trying some delicious wine. Wine: I want able to check the bottles, but it doesn't appear most (if any are estate gown); however, they ALL were delicious. We loved the Sav Blanc and all of the reds. The tasting was set up just the perfect way, building up to the boldest red wine. They also have desserts wines available (if that's your thing), but they aren't part of the tastings. We ordered a bottle of the sav blanc to enjoy onsite. Atmosphere: the wine tasting room is large and air conditioned. There are items for sale in the room from local businesses. There's no seating inside, but there are tables right outside. It's attached to a farm, gift shop, and cafe (which apparently you can't walk to with wine - but see my review there for more info). Service: everyone in the wine tasting room was incredibly friendly. Our server shared insight about each wine, was knowledgeable and yet not arrogant, and offered for us to revisit any wines we might be interested. We had the tiny human with us (as always) and they were kind to her as well (and laughed at her shenanigans). read more

We stopped in here to grab my Aunt's wine shipment. The tasting room is cute, has really interesting art work, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. (An important note: They have AC. My husband and I discovered Casque Winery back in 2011 and have been wine club members since. We are huge fans of the winery, the owners, the atmosphere and, of course, the wines! One of our favorite weekend date night activities is cruising up to Loomis, grabbing a bottle of wine at the winery and enjoying the live music that they occasionally have playing in their courtyard. So, when we found out that they were opening a new tasting room we were excited for more date night adventures at a new location. The new tasting room is located at the Flower Farm in Loomis. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. If I hadn't already had my wedding, I would have considered having it there; especially now that one of our favorite wineries shares it's space! The tasting room is in what looks like a small barn. The space inside is modern and simple with a long bar area against one wall. Doors on the opposite wall lead to a large outdoor space with lounge chairs and fire pits overlooking the gorgeous scenery. Now onto the wines! As I am sure you have already guessed, my husband and I are huge fans. I am usually a red drinker but I also enjoy their whites, especially on those summer nights. My favorite of the reds, depending on my mood, is either the Calotte or the Cab Franc; both are delish. We had a friendly young lady and another fellow helping us. They were quick to greet. Mostly aware when we were ready to try the five or six on the tasting. The staff was versed on their wine offerings and could field questions asked. Wine tasting for 5 dollars offered some white and red. Some blends in the mix. Tastings is waived with bottle per person. Wine was good but we elected none this trip as we had already purchased a few before this tasting. Reasonably priced were the wines. Good: wine, beautiful grounds. Casque is the only winery we belong to in Placer County. We have gone to almost all the other top rated ones and none compare. This is the closest thing to a Napa quality wine and tasting room, in Placer County. I would even say some of their wines like the Roussanne or Adrian, are better than a lot of wines I've had in Napa or Sonoma. The tasting room is awesome and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
