Always a fun time with great wine, great people, and great music. Name changed from Vin Uva to Mount Saint Joseph Wines! Same great place!

Been to Vin Uva a couple of times but overall I'm a huge fan of Mt. Saint Joseph Wines. I'll touch on the wines briefly. I'm a self-proclaimed wine snob and tend to be picky. St. Joseph wines have never failed me. I actually love the wine so much I served their Tempranillo and Chardonnay at my wedding. As for the tasting room...Note the tasting room is not at the winery. Also note this winery is small but growing so it's not fair to compare them to the "high-end" wineries you may visit outside the city. But they all share a passion for wine and are very knowledgeable and friendly, and many of their wines have been winning awards, which is fun to celebrate. Plus, if you're looking for an upcoming and coming wine, I highly recommend this one. I haven't tried any of their food or been there for the live entertainment yet, but hope so in the near future!

This place is AMAZING! It's really relaxing and chill inside. The staff are so welcoming and nice, they make conversation with you and tell you all about the wine and the history behind the company. Great cheese boards and wine. Laurie and Paul were really great staff and hostesses. Both were very warm and welcoming ! Try it here !

Is this some nouveau wine tasting experience where we communally pass the bottle around like hobos sitting around a fire barrel? Our group of 8 whispering to one another, "where are our wine glasses?" Set before us were bottles of wine but no stemware to imbibe the elixir. We flag down a server; a gawky bespeckled young man sporting an earpiece as if he were cosplaying a secret service agent. The outspoken leader of our group pleads, "please bring us some wine glasses." ......Five Minutes pass No wine glasses ............Ten Minutes pass No wine glasses The spark of fortitude strikes me, a hero stands tall. I make my way inside to the counter and stake my claim to the rows upon rows of sparkling and wanting glasses perched on the bar. Alas, we finally tasted the mediocrity peddled as gold medal winning! This self-serve style of experience befuddled us. The servers were purely ornamental. The vintages left our wallets lighter and gullets soured. Our precious mintutes on earth squandered.

In addition, because I was having dinner next door at Hawks and didn't make it in time to grab them from the shop, he had it boxed up and waiting for me at Hawks. The selection is phenomenal, versatile and well priced. My favorite is that they support and have bottles from small production wineries, you know you're bound to enjoy a fine bottle of wine. :)

We invited friends and family for an afternoon tasting, grabbed lunch from the café next door, and expected a warm local winery experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing tasting room visits we've had. The biggest issue was the complete lack of hospitality and awareness toward an older woman in our group recovering from knee surgery. There was no accommodation, no concern, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Instead of any table service or attentiveness, we repeatedly had to get up and walk inside the tasting room over and over for every single pour. By the end of the tasting, we got more steps in than a cattle drive. The two ladies working behind the counter looked like they were counting the minutes until closing time. No smiles. No energy. No effort to educate us about the wines, engage with guests, or make anyone feel welcome. We honestly felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did. This tasting experience had less warmth than a steel feed trough in January. Mad Cow Review Rating: -- Two Bulls Down Great opportunity. Terrible hospitality. Would've had a better customer experience being licked by a pasture cow.
