    The view

The views are stunning, but unfortunately, that's the only positive thing about this place. The service was terrible, yet they have mandatory tips. I ended up paying nearly $100 in tips for a very sub-par experience. The food was disappointing: the meat in the shashlik was raw, and we were served only 3 portions despite paying for 4. When you order multiple portions of the same dish, they pile everything onto one communal plate, forcing you to divide the food yourself instead of giving everyone their own plate. To make matters worse, they use disposable paper plates and cheap plastic tables. They also don't accept contactless payments--only physical cards or cash. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was just bad. I definitely won't be coming back.

This year we changed our stop time. Instead of the usual Sunday members day during Nevada Day weekend, we stopped on Friday at 11a. We got our usual great service, and it was sweet we were the only ones for a while. Joey and Gio are so knowledgeable about their wines. Just two days before our visit, I saw Joey post the new food menu. So of course we tried most of it. Khachapuri was on my list- simple version a cheese boat. A Georgian dish of soft baked bread filled with ooey gooey melted cheese, topped with butter and a raw egg. This did not disappoint. The khinkali dumplings are massive and delicious. Mtsvadi chicken was tender with so much flavor. For a light dish, the summer salad of fresh tomatoes and cucumber was another great choice. The tasting room has fabulous outdoor spaces to enjoy a tasting and food. Plenty of parking. Please don't feed Simba.

Great casual winery with a really warm and friendly atmosphere. We met the owner David and his son Joey was our host for the wine tasting. We learned about their family history and about the vineyard and its production. We sat outside and enjoyed their extensive wine tasting menu. Joey poured us some extra wines that were opened that day too. There were people with kids on a picnic blankets enjoying the day on the grass and others with their dogs. It's family and dog friendly. We ordered some Georgian food to try as well and they were delicious!

We went on Saturday and they were serving a few traditional Georgian dishes. We tried the Kincali (dumplings) and they were delicious! Highly recommend. Giorgi was our wine pourer and we learned so much history of Georgian wine and wine industry in general. Great service and wonderful conversations! The property is perched on a gentle slope, creating a serene outdoor setting with sweeping views. With a glass of wine in hand, bites of food, nature sounds & great views, this place offers the perfect blend of nature and indulgence! I will be back soon!

We visited Story Winery on a Sunday, and the patio was pretty busy. It's a nice spot with great views and good wine. The food at our table got mixed opinions -- some people loved what they ordered, though personally, it wasn't quite to my taste. Overall, it's a lovely place to visit and enjoy for an afternoon, even if I probably wouldn't make a return trip.

Great food and friendly staff. Very different wine tasting experience than anything else we've experienced. Would highly recommend.

For my wife's birthday, we decided to go wine tasting! Delicious wines, took three bottles of wine home with us for our family. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. Ordered khinkali and khachapuri. Delicious. I recommend. True, it takes more than an hour to get there from Sacramento.

We visited story on a trip to the region just for wine tasting. Of the 8 wineries that we visit, this was probably my favorite even with the rain that happened to hit that morning. It's down a small road and that allows them to have beautiful views as you try their wine. We tasted seven different wines and ended up buying three. The food was also amazing. We were severed my Joey, one of the family owners, and it was great and welcoming! I highly recommend taking the drive out to visit! Say hi to Simba, their cute friendly dog

In my opinion, they are doing so many things to enhance the wine tasting experience, it could blow away the competition. Examples are as follows: 1. Rebuilding, refinishing and updating the tasting room and facility. 2. Hiring the former Sous Chef from Taste restaurant to create food offerings/pairings and provide a small bite sample with wine tasting. 3. Display unique and unusual art in and around the property. (They have seven full size panels from the Berlin Wall adjacent to the tasting room.) 4. Staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. 5. The wine pricing is reasonable when compared to the quality. 6. Both the food and wine are excellent. That said, I think the one possible stumbling point could be their attempt to blend in their east coast sister wines and styles with this region. It might be an interesting idea, but I am uncertain people locally will appreciate or understand the effort. The Amador wine region is not Napa Valley, and I don't think it possesses the international appeal, notoriety or demographics that will support the concept of bi-coastal wines. In any event, we will return to further experience the ongoing evolution of this remarkable winery.

I had to show them the email confirmation. It was fine and we were still able to sit down right away. The inside wine tasting room is kind of small but the outdoor patio and area makes up for it. It is quite big and open. I think someone can host an outdoor concert or a wedding. We got to taste about five type of wines (Sauvignon Blanc and few blended red wine). They were all good. I particularly like the 2020 Interlude and purchased a bottle for my sister. We also got to sample from their gallery collection library club that's like 20+ years old ( I forgot the exact year) and that was special. They also have dumplings and spring rolls for purchase. I skip that because I wasn't sure if that would go with the wine. We bought some cheese with us and we had that with our wine. Of course, we asked for permission before bringing in our own cheese and crackers. The gentleman that served us was really nice and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and wine was poured at a good pace. I do want to mention that most winery at Amador will comp at least one tasting with purchase, but not at Di Arie. If you're not a member, be prepared to pay the full wine tasting fee per person.

It's a Terri blend of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Syrah and Primitivo! The host and hostess were all very friendly and knowledgeable! And of course to meet and chat with the wine maker himself, Chaim, was a wonderful treat! The grounds were small, but very cute and relaxing. It made for a warm, friendly ambiance! Of course we walked away with a case of the Sierra and the 3 OG vintage wines! We're definitely coming back in a few weeks. Thank you Di Arie!

Apparently, this is the related winery to Villa Toscano located nearby, which we had previously visited. Once again, I found myself a fan of this place also! It too, is surrounded by eye pleasing countryside views, with lovely ponds, fountains, flowers and comfortable seating areas along the outdoor patios. The entrance opens into a large room where the tasting counter is at the far end. But before getting there, you are tempted on the way over to browse the retail area which features home decor, artwork, designer accessories, and clever wine connoisseur gifts. The walls are decorated with assorted flags and a family style crest over the focal point of the wine tasting bar. The wines offered on the wine tasting list were similar to what we had tried before at Villa Toscano. But we ordered another $5.00 flight that included our favorites along with a few we hadn't tried yet. We enjoyed the flavor variations, but had a hard time deciding on what to purchase, so we went outside for a while to take in the scenery and discuss which ones we liked the best.
