Our location was scenic and located at the bottom of a mountain, putting a limit on parked cars on site. We needed to direct people to a local park and ride, and hire a shuttle. This requirement was the most complicated logistic we had to coordinate for the wedding, but working with Regal Carriage reduced all of our stress and made planning a breeze! We called all shuttle companies in the region to inquire, and most companies didn't have the resources, interest, or capacity to support what we needed (we needed a pick up window and multiple drop off windows, which spanned most of the day in a rural area). We were so fortunate to find this company. The first person I spoke to was Nicole who was extremely kind, patient, and made the process welcoming. Immediately when we began planning- i recognized how accountable, communicative, and determined Nicole was to make this work for our wedding day. Vik shared his impressive work history and expertise in navigating complicated roads, which brought me relief as I was nervous having a large vehicle travel on the narrow and winding roads to the site. We needed a complex schedule, so Nicole and Vik worked closely and efficiently with me, my husband, and our day of contact to safely and reliably bring ~30 guests to and from our wedding! They thought of everything.. down to planning ahead for how we could get in contact in an area with spotty cell reception. We rented a 14 seater- the vehicle was so clean and immaculate. Our guests complimented how luxurious the whole experience felt, how safely Vik drove them, and how kind, professional, and friendly he was! You can tell this is a family business that prides themselves on great, caring customer service and going above and beyond. In weddings... not everything is going to go right. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and such a relaxing place to spend an afternoon. I loved the big double doors leading into the wine cave and tasting room. The wine was delicious, and the service was friendly and welcoming. After our tasting, we grabbed a bottle and headed out to the pond, where we sat by the dock and just relaxed. It was so peaceful and the scenery was beautiful. Overall, it was a great first stop and experience on the Placer Wine Trail, and we'd definitely come back.

Usually, that is a positive in my book but here it means that wine tasting is done standing in a small, stuffy shed with underwhelming air conditioning. The wine is okay to good, but is priced a bit high for that. The bathroom is a port-a-potty. On the plus side, the winemaker runs the tasting room, so you are talking to the source. He's friendly and knowledgeable. The winery's way off the beaten path and in a pretty, mountainous area. On a cooler day there are rough picnic tables outside, but they are on dirt. Maybe a plus or maybe meh, he has lots of sheep penned right behind the tasting room.

Went to a nearby winery we'd visited before, and had a perfectly nice time and tasting. Wanted to check out one more, and saw PaZa nearby. It's the epitome of husband and wife operation. A cute little gazebo and a number of tables and chairs on a beautiful hill overlooking a small vineyard. Don't expect a Napa castle and 'chic' gift shop. It's perfect for a few friends or chatting w the table next to you. The owner, Zane, was amazing and spent a good hour with us, talking about his wines, the vineyard, and the history of wineries in Placer. But what was unexpected was how good the wines are! Most of the time, at local wineries, you're 'meh'. Good wines, but nothing special. You'll grab a bottle and thats that. But here, I actually REALLY enjoyed each wine we tried. His fermenting process is 'old-school' using huge clay (amphorae) cisterns vs stainless steel, and a variety of other nuances that seemed to really make a difference. I literally ended up buying a bottle of everything we tried (much to the amusement of my wife). This is now my new favorite winery in the area.
