We arrived early and were happily greeted by the staff. Since we were early, we had the opportunity to go over the preflight at a leisurely pace. The instructor Mike was very patient, positive, and engaged. My husband enjoyed the learning process and was obviously excited to fly. Once we got into the plane the conversation on the radio was upbeat, calm, and patient. I would recommend Mike to any student or adventurous person. Make sure you're filming during the take off, my husbands reaction was priceless. We flew over the Foresthill Bridge, followed the American River, and ended up at Folsom Lake. Such a great view on a clear day!

Mach5 helped me check off my highest bucket list item - to get my private pilots license on…read more4/29/23. Thanks to Mach 5 I was able to get high marks from my FAA examiner. The operation is top notch from the office/operations management, aircraft maintenance, flight logistics and coordination, and instruction. I transferred from another flight school and instantly saw the Mach 5 difference and high standard. I was fortunate to get paired with David Wells who did a perfect job of helping me reach my full potential. I just had fun flying at Mach 5, David, and will continue to fly with Mach5 in the future. KAUN (Auburn Airport) location provides good vibes, valuable flight experience as it is located in the base of the foothills with access to the Sacramento valley, and up front views/access to various aircraft. There is a cafe and two breweries near by. The mechanics are amazing and provide great exposure to maintenance and repair being an open shop right next to the office. This helped with my understanding of the aircraft and its systems. The planes are very well maintained and it is very clear where each plane sits with regards to maintenance and repair. It is clear Mach 5 has the highest standards for instruction. There are numerous layers and checks within the process. I was required to complete thorough flight reviews and marks after each flight which are recorded in my file and reviewed by chief instructors. At various points in the training I had to fly with a chief instructor for sign off to the next stage. This greatly increased my confidence moving forward by having multiple people give you a green light prior to the next step. The way Mach 5 operates, David Wells taught, and all that flying out of Auburn provided made me a very confident and safe pilot as I move forward in my training. Thank you to the team at Mach 5! Super fun! I bought…read moremy son a flight for his 14th birthday. He had never even been in a plane before, let alone flew one. Needless to say he was a bit apprehensive about his flight. When we arrived at the Airport we were greeted by our pilot and instructor Jim. He was very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable which made my son feel at ease. After a through lesson and overview of the Cesna 187 it was time for my son take the pilots seat. I was happy to tag along. My son read the pre flight checklist from the POA and off we went. Once the plane was at altitude my son had his chance to fly. He was encouraged to bank left and right and shown how to keep the nose leval. It was very exciting to see my son flying the plane. Sadly after about 20 min it was time to land. Jim landed us safely and beautifully. It was a great experience! I don't know who liked it more me or my son? I encourage anyone who has ever wanted to fly a plane to give it a try. In addition it is a very unique and fun gift to give.Years from now my son won't remember what toys or games I buy him. All planes were relocated outside for this event, except for 2 planes. These 2 planes were the back drop, of this function. Welcome, Introductions 630 - 700 pm Drinks & Hors d'oeuvres 630 - 730 pm Buffet - style dinner 730 - 900 pm Door prizes and Silent auction 900 - 930 pm Live band "Golden Caddilacs" 730 - 1030 pm Fund raiser for Charitable 501C3 Snehacare for abandoned children with HIV Http://snehacarehome.org Everything was set up accordingly. They had 3 bartenders, making sure everyone drinks were topped off. LOL The band was playing good music, which had a lot of people on the dance floor, including me and van. The buffet style meal was plentiful and delicious. The line for this meal seemed to flow without hiccups. It seemed Venus was in charge of this department. (she works front desk) Job well done I saw Chris (operations manager) running around and making sure things were in place, like extension cords, to make this event happen.. The silent auctions consist of paintings, trip to Mexico, etc... They also had candles for sale. Not sure up this point how this turned out. Augustine, the owner, greeted everyone, making it such a warm welcoming environment. It was nice to see people involved in aviation and being able to meet them first hand. Can't wait till next party hosted by Augustine !!

She could have inspired more confidence in their program but just made it seem as if they were not interested in my business. It has always been my dream to become a pilot. I now have the time to dedicate to this; Alpine was my closest school to home. It's a shame as I am sure they have a good instructor based on the reviews, but I will not be following up with them. I spoke to another flight school in the area near Auburn which was a much friendlier and informative experience. They were excited to tell me about their program and broke everything down for me as I am a beginner. I scheduled my intro flight with them.

I mean come on, nothing can go ahead of a wedding, right?!…read moreI purchased 30 minutes on the N3N-3 Biplane, i just wanted to check it out get a little fresh air, i figured i could fly a plane, and maybe do some barrel rolls. But when the day finally came ( waited like six months ) I pulled into the parking lot, and my nerves got me. I was so flipping excited, today was the day! MY stomach started to churn, thank goodness i skipped lunch. I walked in, I saw all the planes in the hanger, an amazing site to see for someone who enjoys planes. Anyhoo, I was greeted by Andy the owner, when then introduced me to Steve my pilot. Walked right out to the plane, hoped in, Steve fired her up and away we went. No seriously! it was within minutes, from so excited nearly vomiting to up up and away. I live in Lincoln so we did a couple circles around the house, I got some sweet pics. Ok i got a lot of sweet pics. Then flew down to Folsom, saw the dam, flew across the whole lake, talk about a view. Up to Auburn, then back into Lincoln. I was really hesitant still for flight acrobatics still coming from at first booking it at the idea i would. finally i agreed to do a loop. I was talked through it, which sounds more intense than it actually was, i was still hesitant but said yes, cause i might actually regret not taking this chance of a life. The second we dipped down to start the loop my brain said, "i instantly regret this!" digging into the loop i was still "i'm still regretting this" then once upside down, i was like "ok we probably wont die." The moment when i was upside down, i felt the safest what a weird emotional rollercoaster. Then I had a smile cause now I'm just laughing cause, one, I didn't die, and two, obviously Steve can fly this thing. Back to Lincoln, and we landed safety. I toured a flew other planes in the hanger before going on with my day. TOP5! You leave this world the way you came in, alone and crippled but you get to take with you on the way out memories.

We walk around the plane and he introduced every important part and function. It's a rehash of my physics back in high school 32 yrs ago. Then, we took off and flew across Folsom Lake. The calm, cool morning is very relaxing up in the air. We were flying 150 mph but I can't feel the rush but instead it was smooth and steady which includes the landing. I like the turns most of all. An hour is more than enough for fun! Thank you Erwin for making this a wonderful experience! Our plane is a Cessna. See the picture attached. Our schedule was postponed initially due to flat tire. It rained the day of our wedding and The Ridge was flexible with us and let us push the ceremony back by an hour (cutting cocktail hour in half). Jen helped me maintain my cool and was present throughout the day! I honestly can't even put into words how amazing Jen is, she was a soundboard with what to do about the rain. I feel most would have pushed to move it inside, but she did everything she could to keep it outside & it was truly amazing. Shane the event manager was great to work with as well! He made sure the reception went on perfectly and was communicative all throughout the night to make sure we maintained on schedule. The whole staff at The Ridge was great to work with, from the individuals wiping down the seats after the rain, to driving the golf cart for a guest to come to the ceremony site, to individuals serving the food. Everyone was so kind to work with! Now the food! OMG so GOOD. Our guests are still raving about the food. One quote: "Omg the food was superb!" When you go to weddings, one of the most important aspect is the food, and the chef delivered! Absolutely amazing!! I can truly continue to rave about this place, but no one wants to read a novel!
