Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street! We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!! read more

I'll give 2* because the food (when it came) was great. We've been to Franny's a couple times before and had O.K. service and good food. The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back. read more

2/21/2026: My family orchestrated celebrating my Happy Birthday #71 with telephone reservations in advance! Welp~for my birthday luncheon, I inhaled French onion soup which was awesomely delectable; moreover, I must mention the fish n' chips' serving portion was larger than my face~lol, i.e., the fish was fried perfectly possessing a super crunchy crust. Moreover, my family and I are Franny's Farm Table's returning guests times five visits and counting. Every visit proved as enjoyable, the service rendered is very accommodating especially, when serving six family members . . . Comically, there are two family members out of six who are energetically, passionately rambunctious who engage in spilling liquids and squirting sauces where the sauces shouldn't be landing anywhere but, on their plates, indeed. Finally and best of all, Franny's Farm Table's ambiance isn't pretentious; the restaurant feels like "just down home" atmosphere which is very comforting to the two energetically, passionately rambunctious family members~lol. read more

I actually really liked this place. It is stacked right into old town Placerville. We sat at the bar for "brunch" at about 1130. I wanted breakfast and the wife wanted lunch. There was no messing with the start time with lunch. She had the $5 mimosa. It was good. I had a draft local beer that was fine.. I could tell by looking at the way they described their sausage gravy, it was going to be different. I got the eggs Benedict on biscuits with the gravy. It was a pretty interesting and tasty dish. You definitely have to try this. Service was a little slow on the front, but we were on the tail end of a rush. They caught up and the food was worth the wait. The hubs and I are staying in the Cary House Hotel and Franny's Farm Table is right across the street. During the week they're only open for lunch and dinner but on the weekends, they do breakfast from 9 to noon. I chose the Franny's breakfast which comes with 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs, potatoes and toast. My husband opted for their breakfast wrap which includes scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese in a sun-dried tomato tortilla. My husband asked to sub chorizo for bacon. They also included a cup Of fruit which was nice. The food arrived shortly and was served warm. Unfortunately my eggs were overcooked (I'd requested over easy but these yolks were nearly fully set) and I didn't care much for the sausage. It wasn't stated on the menu but these are apple sausage, which is totally fine, but the cinnamon flavor was really strong and I'm not the biggest fan of cinnamon. They did appear to be house-made though which I always appreciate. The bacon and potatoes were great. My sourdough toast was good and had an interesting herbaceous flavor to it. My husband really enjoyed his wrap and said the sun-dried tomato tortilla added a nice flavor element. Service was very friendly. They had a great playlist pumping through the place, although the kitchen had their own music playing which was kind of clashing with the music in our area. All in all, if we lived closer, we'd likely return to check out some of their other options. read more

Decided to try it because I have always heard great things. Service was slow,ordered Ice tea and while it was good and string,it literally had about 6 ice cubes in it. When we asked for a cup of ice,he brought a half of a glass! When I asked again,I told him I wanted a full glads ofice for each of us! Once we finally got to order,food arrived quickly. Fried artichoke hearts where drenched in oil(you called it light sauce) to the point of not being able to eat them because they were soggy, bever offereda replacement just oh sorry)Spinich artichoke dip and bread was amazing,Garlic cheese bread was good,cut in very small pieces which would have been great for a small child. Upholstery was is very bad shape on the booth cracked and peeling away. Wish that things would have been better. We stopped for lunch today having good memories from dinner there several years ago. We were pleased to see they had remodeled the main floor adding a number of tables. We were greeted cheerfully and promptly seated. Unfortunately, it took more than 40 minutes to get our food after ordering. We ended up having the food packed to go as we couldn't take time to eat. The food was tasty but would surely been more enjoyable had it not traveled for 30 minutes before we could eat. He said it was a flavor explosion--sweet, smoky, a little spicy, and totally unexpected in the best way. We also sampled the soups: Marc had the clam chowder, and both my dad and aunt had the French onion. All of them were rich, comforting, and well-seasoned. If you go, don't skip the Thai Chicken Bites appetizer. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, with just a hint of sweetness and a light kick of heat--totally addictive. Came here on a Saturday afternoon after wandering around Apple Hill for a bit. Free parking for a couple hours in the nearby garage. Came in, sat down and I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich ($24) with garlic fries ($3 extra) I didn't realize it was an open faced sandwich but it was so good. You do have to use a fork and knife to eat it. Lol. The pesto was super herby and creamy and the bread soaked it all up. Delicious, but tbh kinda expensive for a sandwich. A while ago, when the restaurant opened, we went there twice and were disappointed both times, and we didn't go back. Walking past it the other day, we decided to try it again. I'm glad we did. The food was excellent. I had the fettuccine con pollo. This is the best pasta that I've had in this area. The sauce was superb, the pasta cooked to perfection. It beat all other restaurant's pastas hands down. My wife had a crab salad which she said was very good. We will go back and try other items, but really, try the pasta. Service was fine. $5 mimosas? Say less! You have the option to order orange only, or a pomegranate-mixture. They offer brunch on the weekends and full menu service for lunch & dinner. When I walked past the restaurant the night prior, it was popping! Small cozy place with 2 floors. Service here was great - staff were attentive and friendly even though they were busy running up & down servicing the two floors. I got the Farmers Benedict and it was good - crispy potatoes, just the right portions where I don't get stuffed, and a creamy hollandaise sauce that had a sweet taste to it. Saturday, 11/16/2024 - We went to Fanny's Farm Table for lunch today. Address is 311 Main St, Placerville, CA 95667. Parking is a little challenging. But!!! We got lucky. As we drove up to the restaurant, sometime happened to be leaving. We got front parking right next to restaurant. There's is a parking garage on the other side, behind the restaurant block. Pros 1) cute little restaurant. Looked clean. Table, chairs, cups, plates, utensils were clean. 2) 1st floor had like 4 or 5 tables and in the 2nd floor like another 4 or 5 tables for customers. 3) there was a bar on the 1st floor. 4) the hostess was very nice. 5) our waitress was so sweet and professional. 6) we ordered the prime rib dip w sweet potato fries + mushroom. Prime rib dip was $24.00. Sweet potato fries were $3.00 since we sub it with the regular fries. And the added mushrrim was an additional $2.00. We also got clam chowder ($12.00). All was very good. 7) our server checked on us several times. We got liquid refills without having to ask. 8) there's 1 bathroom for men or women. One stall. You just have to wait your turn. 9) our server was so sweet. She memorized who was together and brought our tabs to us separately. Cons 1) none Conclusion Love this little restaurant. Street parking may be a little hard, but there is a parking garage. Staffs were all very nice. There is a small bar, 1st floor to dine and a 2nd floor to dine. Foods were great. Everyone ate their meal with no complaints. I'd go here again next time I'm in this town. Try this place when you're in Placerville. read more

Lunch was delicious, we split the fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were delicious and they kindly bought it already split up. But the dessert! We decided to try Franny's Farm Table after a morning hike, having found it through Yelp. It was nearby, and the reviews seemed decent, so we arrived in Placerville around 11:26 AM, hoping for a relaxing brunch. Unfortunately, our experience fell short on multiple fronts. When we walked in, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were greeted at the door and informed that lunch wouldn't be served until 12 PM -- understandable, but the delivery of this info felt a bit abrupt. Another group who arrived after us was seated upstairs before we were even acknowledged again. I had to ask if I could at least sit and wait for my friends, and only then did the hostess say "absolutely." Once seated, I used the restroom -- which wasn't clean, and the paper towels were nearly gone. Not the best first impression. Our server came by for drink orders shortly after we sat down. We ordered three iced teas and one water. The casual vibe of the service bordered on unprofessional, but we tried to stay positive. When it came time to order, one of my friends asked for waffles, only to be told after ordering that the waffle machine was broken. They settled for French toast instead. From there, things went downhill fast. We were not checked on at all -- no updates, no refills, no apologies for the long wait. We sat next to the kitchen and watched other tables get served before us, even though we had arrived earlier. After more than 45 minutes, we had to flag someone down just to get a refill on our drinks. When our food finally came, it was a letdown. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedicts was cold and appeared curdled. My "ribeye" Benedict was more like sliced roast beef, and the crab on top had a strong fishy smell -- definitely not fresh. The poached eggs were completely overcooked, more like hard-boiled eggs. The only dish that anyone remotely enjoyed was the side of French toast. To make matters worse, the check process was confusing. The server offered a "small discount" (about 10%), but only applied it to the friend who ordered the French toast -- not evenly among all of us who had issues. It felt like a poor attempt to save face after a disappointing experience. Sadly, this was our first and last visit. Between the lackluster service, long wait, and subpar food, there was nothing that made us want to return. Plenty of other spots in the area -- we suggest trying one of those instead. read more

Amazing food on our recent visit to Placerville! The place is appointed nicely and sets you up for the comfort food to come. While there we enjoyed the fried artichoke, clam chowder, my wife had a salad and I had the PBnJ burger! Everything was on point and flavorful. Really our only complaint was the speed of service. From order to first course was about 20 minutes, then another 10 minutes for soup, then another 20 minutes for burger and salad to arrive. Just a little too much waiting. But the food.....So good! I live in Placerville and I love my town but over the past eight years we have lost some of our more iconic eating establishments. You have two choices here in Hangtown ... Lots of Mexican food and Lots of Pizza! My bride and I came and eat lunch here the first time and I was surprised about the hamburger that I ordered on a gluten free bun and ... Oh my it was off the hook and the service was excellent! This first expereince simply got me thinking that I needed to go back and try again. So last Saturday afternoon we had some friends from out of town join us here and I ordered the Prime Dip Sandwich and it was so good! The Ajus was perfect and there was plenty of meat on the roll with melted cheese. Before I go any further I very rarely order desert to eat because I am a Typr 2 Diabetic and I simply do not have a death wish. But we ordered that Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and it was so good. I did see that light at the end of the tunnel and at one point I had an out of body expereince and I kept telling myself who is that who ooohing and ahhing and then I came too and it WAS ME! I really like this place and I am planning to return and the next time I am ordring the chicken pesto sandwhich! I am thrilled that we have this eating establishment in our town! read more

So, I posted a review about my order missing portions of the meal I had ordered. I called the manager/owner to let them know this has been an ongoing issue for months. It took 2 days and about 6 calls to reach the owner. After I explained the situation & the missing items from my order from the other night, she had the gall to start blaming the DoorDash Driver. As I tried to say no no no do not blame the driver, who does not own & manage the restaurant food, the restaurant owner kept cutting me off, until I finally had to just end the conversation & hang up. She then called me back BUT started the same thing, not letting me speak because she did not like what I said. I ended the call again. I can see that the owner/manager's attitude is the problem. $5 mimosas anyone?! THE place to get brunch and have a few drinks with friends. The wait is not long even late into the morning and the service is fast. It's a no nonsense restaurant with really fresh ingredients. The portions are perfect and not too overly filling. They have all the condiments you could need and the mimosas are done exceptionally well. The ambiance is just ok it's not an IG photo op but I think the upstairs is really cute and you get a bit of separation from the kitchen area which is nice. read more

We also had the crispy tacos, it was fried perfectly, however the aoili sauce was a bite heavy and made me full quickly. The texture was good and the taste was delicious. Sweet little place located on the main street of Placerville. The city offers two hour free parking which makes it convenient to stop for a bit to eat. Service was terrific, the ambiance was pleasing to the eye and the found was mouth wateringly good. My wife decided to go the salad route, choosing the asian chicken salad. It consisted of a chicken breast, mandarin oranges, crispy wontons, rice noodles and toasted almonds and it was tossed with fresh lettuce in a sesame dressing. Pretty to look with great flavor to boot. I strayed from my usual burger for lunch and went for a prime rib dip. It is probably twenty years since I last had a dip and after the first bit I thought "why did I wait so long?" If only every place that served a dip had one like Frannys then I would get one weekly. The sandwich consisted of thinly sliced prime rib with Swiss cheese on grilled sourdough with a roasted garlic aioli mayo. Served with au jus for dipping and a side crispy french fries, this was heaven on a plate. Delicious prime rib, wonderful jus and tasty fries made for a perfect lunch. Both meals were five star caliber and we will certainly eat there again the next time we are in this cute little town. read more

Just went to have breakfast with two friends. There were very few people when we got there, but our order took quite some time to get to us. No explanation for the delay... I ordered Frannie's breakfast with eggs over medium. The eggs were way over cooked, with the yolks mostly hard and the whites very firm and browned and crisp on the edges. The potatoes were so few, I could count the very small pieces. My friend ordered the huervos rancheros. Her eggs were the same overcooked situation which she had ordered over easy. The two tortillas were way over cooked, partially black on the bottom and she needed to ask for a steak knife to saw through them; even then they were hard to manage. I expect better when paying $20.00+ per plate. read more

We stopped in for lunch yesterday and that turned out to be one of our best decisions ever. We opted to sit at a table upstairs by the window and watch the world go by. Lovely. The menu is deliciously varied with all kinds of delectable sounding dishes. We opted to share the artichoke appetizer and the ahi salad with eyes on the dessert sampler. The artichokes were absolutely one of the best dishes I've eaten in a very long time. They were perfectly seasoned and served with two tasty aioli based dipping options. The ahi was perfectly cooked and the wasabi based dressing complemented the dish beautifully. We had high hopes for dessert but the portion sizes were so large we just didn't have room. Next time. Service was fabulous with our server checking in, making suggestions and just taking great care of us. Please give this newer option in Placerville a try. You won't be disappointed. read more
