Husband and I are visiting from out of town and decided on this place after perusing their menu online. We arrived and while the place was busy, we were seated right away at a table of our choosing. We both went back and forth about what to order, so many things sounded good. My husband opted for their classic egg Benny and I did a two egg (over easy) breakfast with a burger patty, country potatoes, and sourdough toast. Eggs with a burger patty is a breakfast I eat very often and I love it- kind of like a poor man's version of steak and eggs. Food arrived in an acceptable amount of time. Hubby's eggs Benedict looked great. As soon as they set my plate down, I knew I'd made a mistake. That burger patty was clearly a pre-made frozen one and just looked so sad. I barely managed a few bites of it. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning, still tasted awful after I heavily salted and peppered it myself. The meat was like pure mush. Worst excuse for a burger patty I've ever had. It honestly kind of turned my appetite a bit. Thankfully my eggs were cooked very well and the toast was good. Potatoes were decent, though a bit on the cold side when they arrived. My husband seemed to enjoy his meal but said the hollandaise was a tad watery. Giving this place 3 stars because the service was really nice. I have a feeling a lot of the other things on their menu would be great. But lord, that burger was absolutely pitiful. read more

So disappointed by the entire experience. Reviewed the menu and after asking the waitress if the chicken fried steak was homemade I opted for it because if it wasn't I would have passed and got something else that would have been freshly made. The only thing freshly made on the dish were the "two" eggs which - more like one. The gravy and the chicken fried steak were not homemade, it was a frozen patty. You could also see that it was cooked on the flattop. Horrible, process taste. If I hadn't asked I would not be judging so harshly but I did ask. Also the service was cold - not warm at all. My wife got steak and eggs and the steak was supposed to be filet according to the menu - not even close. If it was it was filet scraps and it wasn't even seasoned and was also cooked on a flattop, more like jerky. Lastly, to pay $50 for this type of experience, sadly, not worth it. This place is perfect for a large group! There may be a wait but you're able to order an adult beverage while waiting which is a plus. They have a huge menu selection of food which is great. I ended up getting the chilaquiles w fried egg, it was very tasty and the chilaquiles is not soggy. My bf ordered the huevos divorsiado Benny which was also delicious. The two sauce that came with it was delicious. We didn't get any mimosa but we got some Bloody Mary w gin - it was made inconsistently but we figure it out - make sure they add Worcestershire sauce!! Just learned of this local restaurant and based on the reviews, went for late (10:00am) breakfast today. Well located on Placerville Drive in Placerville suburbia. Parking is ample although located on two levels. We received an immediate smiling welcome and were quickly seated. It was busy for a Wednesday mid-morning. The restaurant is comfy with lots of spacing between tables, has nice bar seating as well as an outdoor patio with picnic-style tables and umbrellas. Very clean and new looking interior - yes the restroom was very clean too. The menu is extensive and mostly breakfast items and includes several yummy sounding Mexican-inspired dishes. There is also a good selection of lunch sandwiches, salads, etc. While we had a primary server we were also cared for by other servers and staff. All very friendly and experienced. Service is top notch and feels very homey. I ordered the Breakfast Sampler that included pancakes, sausage links, bacon, hashbrowns and 2 eggs. Sweetie ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs - also included hashbrowns and toast. Food was okay although some misses - bacon VERY overcooked, soft scrambled eggs not soft, cream gravy pretty bland and fried cube steak just okay. Pancakes were the star of the show - ample sized, nice and fluffy and served with real butter (alas corn syrup). Given everything, I'm rating an overall four as service, location, decor, etc. were all 5's. Food was a 3 with pancakes a 5. Next time I will be trying some of the mexican-inspired dishes. read more

Excellently prepared with qauality ingredients and cleanly presented. They did not feel the need to serve a mountain of poorly prepared food to justify the price. Staff were pleasant, tables were clean and service was quick. I ordered over medium eggs, country potatoes, bacon, sausage links and pancakes with coffee to drink. Every item was cooked properly and tasted great. I don't know why it's so hard to find what is described above but its like hunting unicorns. Annie's is, without a close second, the best breakfast in town! My wife and I are unfaltering regulars and wouldn't be so if it wasn't just all around outstanding. Everything from the coffee to of course their namesake mimosas to American breakfast varieties as well as south of the border offerings are delicious and generous portions. The servers and wait staff are always friendly, professional and very attentive. My wife is sometimes a little slow in waking up on weekends, and enticing her with an (maybe two) adored mimosa(s) is, without fail, an easy trigger to raise her from the pillow. We have been supporting this business for years and these people feel more like family, than just a place to go have breakfast. But when I am in the area, it's a solid breakfast and lunch spot. The food is simple and tasty with bright, fresh flavors. Classic American and Mexican diner dishes. The menu is pretty large and diverse. I tend to order breakfast here... they got ya covered with French toast, Egg Benedicts ( 6 kinds), pancakes, waffles, crepes, breakfast burger, egg plates, and a menu section called South of the Border ( with huevos rancheros, chilaquiles. breakfast burrito, chili verde enchilada, and that's to name a few). Looking for something stronger than coffee to drink, try one of their signature mimosas (over 14 choices), Bloody Mary, beers, and wine. We were driving back from South Lake Tahoe and came across this restaurant, it was amazing! Two sets of Benedict's, a custom made churro French toast (they only have churro waffles on the menu) and steak and eggs! Everything was delicious and good portions! I can't forget about the mimosas!
