The wine tasting room is charming and the wines are stunning. Highly recommend doing a tasting and then finishing with a glass of wine with a cheese platter. This is my favorite wine stop in Placerville!

I came here for a tea party for galantines with the girls and was not disappointed. The food was great but the true star of the party was JOHN!. Every wine that we tasted was beyond amazing however it was because of John's energy and enthusiasm for the wine that we had such an amazing time. We started with the 2023 Bianco however the true star besides John was the Chardonnay and the Angelica port was beyond amazing. The service and ambiance was beyond amazing and that's all thanks to our server and wine connoisseur John. I live in Sacramento no I will definitely be back for this amazing wine bar.

Wine flight! This was one of the smallest tastings I've ever had--this was for three people (we each paid $10)

I'm so glad I stopped in for a wine tasting flight with some friends! The tasting room is adorable and comfortable, and the woman pouring was so nice and efficient. It was one of the fastest tastings I've ever done which wasn't necessary a bad thing considering we were just wasting time until we could check into our Airbnb. Just note that the tastings are very small. The whites were good and I went home with 4 bottles of the Chardonnay (can't beat that price!!). I didn't like the reds, but I rarely like red wine anyway so I can't blame them for that--they were all very bold which just isn't my thing. The splash of their Angelica with some biscotti was SUCH a lovely touch. That was a treat! I love the bottles and the glass stoppers. So cool that you can get them refilled at a discount. I don't live close to do that but I'm definitely going to be using these for water when I have guests over. Will definitely add this to my list of stops during my yearly trek up to Apple Hill!

Wine flight for $10, enough to share for 2!

Very nice wines and exceptional service, not to mention very reasonable prices. Most likely a valuable "gem" for locals to enjoy!

The ambiance, the guided experience, and the overall vibe were exactly what I had hoped for. Our waitress was exceptional--knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, and she made us feel right at home. We truly couldn't have started his birthday any better. As for the food, I was a bit bummed that there wasn't a lunch or more robust meal offering. It slightly diminished the overall poshness of the experience, as we would have loved something beyond charcuterie while enjoying the wine. That said, we still had a wonderful time--and even became members--so that says a lot. I do hope they expand their food options in the future. If you're looking for a great atmosphere and delicious wine, I would absolutely recommend checking them out.

They used to serve food (which was amazing, RIP), but thankfully they still offer their cheese boards (which are 10/10). The views are a whole experience on their own--especially if you can sit at the member pavilion overlooking the water, which is super scenic and peaceful. Starfield continues to be such a lovely spot with friendly service, even with the food changes. As long as they keep pouring delicious wine, we'll definitely keep coming back!

We ordered at the bar inside and then the wines were brought out to us on the patio. It took longer than expected to get our flights, and then we were a bit disappointed that the sommelier didn't spend much time telling us about the wines. She brought them out and told us what each wine on the flight was, then left and we never saw her again. We've had several amazing tasting experiences in wine country where the sommelier tells you many more details about the wines including where on the property the grapes are grown, how it is made, and what different notes we will taste in each wine. It was a pretty basic explanation and we didn't feel that it was very personable despite it being a slow weekday. We ordered two tastings but all the wines were brought out in small carafes, we couldn't tell if each one held enough wine for one of us or both of our tastings combined. This wasn't ever explained either, so we assumed it was for both of us to share. We still enjoyed having our wines on this beautiful property, and we were able to have our baby with us which was nice. We weren't very impressed with the wines themselves and did not have any favorites that we needed to purchase bottles of. It is $10 for a glass or a tasting which was quite the deal. The prices and atmosphere were great, but the wine and overall experience was average.

The only thing that didn't allow me to give them a 5-star review was the wine itself. The Pinot Gris was exceptional, so we bought a couple of bottles. The rest was merely okay. That being said, I would highly recommend coming if just for the atmosphere. Everyones wine taste is different and you may like some of the ones I didn't.

Therefore, we were excited when one of our favorite couples to hang out with invited us to Smokey Ridge Ranch for wine tasting. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a friendly employee who urgently ran behind the bar to attend to us. Since we were pending the arrival of our friends, we decided to get the party started with two glasses of tempranillo (the employee kindly allowed for us to sample it before purchasing it). While we awaited the arrival of our friends, my wife and I found a picnic table in the shade. Once our friends arrived they ordered a wine tasting flight to share. As we put the finishing touches on our tempranillo, an employee came by to see if we were ready for another round. Since it was a 100 degree day, we figured that it would be wise to order something cold and refreshing. Although we have never been fans of rosé, it just felt like the appropriate thing to order. We enjoyed our time at Smokey Ridge Ranch, next time we will bring a charcuterie board to enjoy with their large pours of wine!
